The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Monday, July 19 Recap – Tara Seeks Sole Custody of Harrison – Victor’s Richard Letter Lie

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, July 19, reveals that Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) will seek sole custody of Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) and try to push Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) out. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will also lie about a letter from Richard Nealon in hopes of trapping Sutton Ames (Jack Landron).

At home on Monday’s Y&R episode, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will fill Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) in on Ashland moving in with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and only having a few months to live.

Billy won’t just see how Victoria can keep this from having a negative effect on the kids.

Although Billy will hint that Victoria might be doing this to preserve her deal, Lily will think there has to be some level of emotional involvement.

Lily will be cool with the kids staying there more often and will urge Billy to learn to be OK with Victoria’s decision.

At Victoria’s place, she’ll introduce Ashland to Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare) and Katie Abbott (Sienna Mercuri).

The meeting will go well, but Ashland will struggle to breathe as the kids leave the room.

Ashland will be glad it didn’t happen in front of Katie and Johnny, but he’ll have to ask if Victoria’s having second thoughts.

After Victoria reassures Ashland, he’ll insist he doesn’t deserve her. Victoria will just feel lucky to spend every moment she can with Ashland.

Across town, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will be upset at the Abbott mansion. He’ll tell Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) that Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) was in tears after Ashland’s outburst in the park.

Kyle will admit that now Tara is talking about restricting Ashland’s contact.

Jack will think that’s a rather aggressive move and won’t seem to approve, but he’ll get that Kyle has to do what’s best for his son. Jack will trust that Kyle will make the right decision.

Once Jack makes it to Crimson Lights, he’ll bump into Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and flirt with her about his coffee order.

Sally will wonder if this is just awkward banter or if it’s building to Jack asking her out again.

“How about tonight?” Jack will ask with a sly smile. Sally will vow to make time in her schedule and leave after deciding she doesn’t need coffee after all.

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will be nearby as usual, so she’ll approach Jack after Sally leaves.

Jack will expect Phyllis to pester him about Sally and won’t want to hear it, but Phyllis will argue that “live and let live” is now her motto.

Jack will snap about how perhaps Phyllis should share her new attitude with the world at large.

Jack will rant about how no one needs somebody adding to their problems, so Phyllis will wind up confused.

Back with Kyle, he’ll learn from Tara that Harrison had another nightmare because of what happened in the park. Tara will think that maybe her instincts are right – that they should keep Ashland away.

Tara will feel like Ashland got upset because he saw Tara with Kyle and Harrison. It was like a glimpse of a future that Ashland wouldn’t be part of.

Kyle will just want to give Harrison the best life possible, so Tara will be so glad to hear that.

As Kyle leaves for the office, he’ll suggest they can discuss the matter later and form a plan to move forward.

Meanwhile, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will talk to Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) about the plan to trap Sutton into confessing something.

Although Amanda will trust Victor, she won’t know if she can trust her own judge of character.

At Newman Media, Victor will point out that Amanda wants to expose Sutton as Richard Nealon’s killer. He’ll insist he can guarantee a solution to Sutton’s Amanda problem.

Victor will recall his history with Richard, including how he offered up a PI to help with the search of his child.

Victor will claim that a few days before the fatal accident, Richard sent a letter – one that would be of great interest to Sutton.

Victor will claim to have stumbled upon this letter after Amanda hurled accusations at Newman Enterprises.

That launched an investigation and led to Victor finding this letter according to him.

Victor will insist that in that letter, Richard said Sutton warned him to discontinue the search for his child or there’d be consequences.

Sutton will argue that either Richard was lying about having contact with him – or Victor’s lying about the letter.

However, Victor will press on and note that he’s suggesting an arrangement. He’ll add that he has no reason to lie to Sutton.

Victor will act like he’s no friend of Amanda after the way she came after him and his company.

Sutton will want Victor to cut to the chase, so Victor will argue that Sutton knows how these things work.

Victor will claim to be the only one who knows about the letter and will contend that the letter can be Sutton’s for the right price.

Of course, this is clearly part of Victor’s scheme for Amanda, so Sutton is being deceived.

At the coffeehouse, Lily will offer updates to Devon about her stepmom situation and the fact that they’ll have the kids almost full-time.

Lily will reveal that it was Victoria’s idea since Ashland is moving in with her. Lily won’t think Billy quite grasps the deep connection that’d have to be involved for that to happen.

When Billy shows up at Victoria’s house to get the kids, Ashland will be alone in the living room working on his breathing. He’ll ask if it bothers Billy that he’s there, so Billy will reply that his kids are the main concern.

Ashland will be on the same page and will note that he regrets what went down in the park recently. He’ll plan to have an age-appropriate talk with his son about his condition and will assume Billy’s kids are going to need one, too.

Billy will point out that Ashland is dying and won’t get why he’d subject Victoria to the pain of losing him.

However, Ashland will correct that he’s sick and argue that nobody said anything about dying.

Victoria will enter and pipe up that they can’t predict the future. She’ll just want Billy to accept that they’re going to make each other happy no matter what happens.

Billy will decide he can be OK with that – just as long as everyone’s honest and no one’s taking advantage of anyone’s good nature.

Ashland will assure Billy that Victoria isn’t the type who can be cajoled into anything. Before Billy goes upstairs to get the kids, he’ll suggest it’s good to see Ashland happy for as long as it lasts.

Once Billy reconvenes with Lily, he’ll seem more willing to accept that both Ashland and Victoria deserve happiness. Billy will tease Lily about being the reason for his newfound maturity.

At The Grand Phoenix, Phyllis will join Tara for a chat while the latter waits for Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman).

After Phyllis gushes about how happy Summer Newman (Hunter King) is in Milan, she’ll note that Kyle really seems to be hurting.

Phyllis will suggest this time away will make Summer and Kyle realize they love and miss each other.

Phyllis will add that they’re going to be back in each other’s arms real soon!

Tara will counter that Kyle seems to have accepted Summer’s decision.

Tara won’t think Kyle would walk away from Harrison either, especially now when he’s been so frightened over the Ashland park drama.

Tara will contend that it was unacceptable and will mention the idea of sole custody. It’ll shock Phyllis since Ashland is a dying man!

Before Tara steps away to speak with Lauren, she’ll note that they’d both do anything for their children. Tara won’t really think they’re so different from each other as a result.

Amanda will catch the end of this conversation and grill Phyllis, who’ll vow to expose Tara’s agenda. Phyllis will admit she’s working with Billy in hopes of making that happen.

Phyllis will argue that Tara played on Summer’s insecurities to clear a path to Kyle. However, Amanda will be concerned about what might go down if Phyllis drives Tara out of town.

Tara could take her son with her and deny Kyle access unless he has a legally binding custody agreement.

Phyllis won’t be worried since the Abbotts would fight Tara on it.

Phyllis will be absolutely certain of Tara’s agenda and will assure Amanda that she’s going to take her down.

Over with Tara, she’ll tell Lauren that she’s kind of becoming friends with Phyllis. Lauren will joke about the stories she can tell Tara once they know each other a bit better.

Once Sally gets all dolled up for her date, she’ll spot Phyllis in the lobby and gloat about seeing Jack tonight.

Phyllis will point out that her opinion has no impact on Jack and will think Sally should be glad about that.

Phyllis will also work it into the conversation that Tara is happy to reciprocate when it comes to their new friendship.

After Sally saunters out, Amanda will wonder “what the hell” that was. Phyllis won’t know, but she’ll plan to put the puzzle pieces together. Phyllis will feel it in her gut that something is going on between Tara and Sally.

Phyllis will note that they both benefited from Summer’s departure since Sally got her job and Tara’s getting her man. Since Phyllis won’t think it’s a coincidence, she’ll promise to prove it.

Once Kyle finds Tara at the Abbott house later, he’ll learn she’s made a decision regarding the situation with Ashland.

At Victoria’s place again, Ashland will get a call from his attorney. He’ll let Victoria know that Tara has filed a new motion for sole custody of Harrison.

At Society, Sally will suggest this can be a no-pressure evening, but she’ll feel like she’s rambling.

Jack will suggest starting simple and will praise Sally for how lovely she looks.

They’ll both be really glad they’re doing this as Phyllis lurks outside and peers through the window.
