The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Monday, July 5 Recap – Phyllis Steals Sally’s Date Night with Jack – Connor’s Home

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, July 5, reveals that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will steal Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) date night with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Meanwhile, Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) will come home and beg for Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan).

At ChancComm, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will assure Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) that he’s not worried about the backlash of the “Keys to the Locke Divorce” story they just published.

Billy will bring up that their source found out Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) was flying his personal doctor into Genoa City.

Lily will acknowledge that it gives credence to Ashland’s health news. She’ll wonder if Billy’s concerned about Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) part in the article, but he won’t be.

Billy will suggest that even if Victoria gets burned, it’ll show her that being involved with Ashland means playing with fire.

After Billy takes a call, he’ll reveal that the doctor Ashland flew in was an oncologist specializing in late-stage cancer diagnoses.

Lily and Billy will contemplate what to do with that information before Billy wonders if Victoria’s angling to get a seat on the board of Locke Communications Group.

Y&R spoilers say they’ll debate it before Billy proposes an idea. “What if ChancComm takes over Locke Communications Group altogether?” Billy will ask.

Lily will wonder if Billy’s seriously suggesting taking advantage of a dying man, but Billy will argue that Locke’s company has to go somewhere.

Billy will add that this would help them fend off the attack Victor and Adam claim isn’t coming.

Lily will think they need to confirm Ashland is sick and then act fast. She’ll have concerns about the financial aspect, but Billy will think they can go to Jack and other backers if need be.

As far as undermining Victoria goes, Billy will act like he’s just returning the favor since she “protected” him by going after Cyaxares.

At Crimson Lights, Sally will nearly bump into Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) while reading the juicy article.

On the patio, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will get a text from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) about reading the Locke divorce story ASAP.

Adam will look across the table at a smiling Connor, who’ll eat his pastry in record time.

Connor will suggest he could’ve waited to eat it until he got home, so Adam will explain that they’re moving to the ranch and get an excited reaction.

Adam will be glad Connor’s happy since his grandparents are looking forward to having him around, but Connor will really want to see his mom.

Adam will claim Chelsea is back in the hospital, but he’ll promise Connor that she’s resting up and will see him soon. Connor will beg to go visit her now, but Adam will do his best to help him understand.

Moments later, Sharon will walk over and greet Connor. She’ll find out about the ranch move before Adam sends Connor to get another glass of milk at the counter.

While Adam’s alone with Sharon, she’ll ask if there’s still a future for Chelsea and Adam.

However, Adam will feel like too much has happened. He won’t see them being a couple again and will feel like they’ll eventually have to learn to co-parent.

When Victoria shows up at Ashland’s suite, she’ll learn he had a rough night’s sleep.

Ashland will admit he’s been suffering from chest pressure and has had trouble breathing as well as swallowing. He’ll think he needs to cancel their LA trip, which Victoria will totally understand.

Victoria and Ashland will get texts from their PR team about ChancComm’s story, so they’ll realize they need to dive in and see the extent of the damage.

Ashland will be sorry he dragged Victoria into this, but she’ll insist she did it willingly.

Victoria will think Billy was just trying to teach her a lesson about getting involved with Ashland, so he’ll wonder if they’re indeed involved. “I hope so,” Victoria will admit.

Ashland will experience some chest discomfort, which will lead to Victoria once again proposing the idea of treatment and running things together after the merger.

Ashland will shut down that plan again, but he’ll talk about making the most of every moment – including this one. As Ashland moves in close, he’ll pull Victoria into a passionate kiss and pick her up off her feet.

Down in the lobby, Phyllis will get a video call from Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Nick will admit Summer Newman (Hunter King) keeps pushing the “this is great” narrative, but he’ll be able to tell she’s hurting.

At the Abbott mansion, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will fume over Harrison Locke’s (Kellen Enriquez) paternity being exploited in ChancComm’s story.

Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) will acknowledge Victoria’s part in the article and will suggest she hopes Ashland finds happiness with her in the time he has.

Jack will wonder what that means, so Tara will suggest she just means if the health news is true. Once Jack is gone, Tara will confess to Kyle that she’s more upset than she let on to Jack.

Kyle will wonder if there’s anything he can do, but Tara will think Kyle’s done so much already. She’ll think they’re in similar situations of upheaval and will suggest leaning on each other.

The conversation will shift to Ashland turning to Victoria so soon after his split. Tara will suggest that even the most controlling man on the planet yearns for closeness and connection.

Tara will think it’s true for everyone and that anyone who says different is either lying or dead inside.

Back at the coffeehouse, Jack will bump into Sally and share a flirty conversation with her about her first day as the interim president of JCV.

Sally will be excited for this chance to prove herself – and Jack will think the best part is that she came by it honestly. “No scheming, no ploys. You should be very proud of that,” Jack will insist.

Once Jack and Sally sit down on the patio, Phyllis will arrive and pull up a chair. “Hey, guys! What’s going on?” Phyllis will ask as she intentionally becomes a third wheel.

Phyllis will find out Summer recommended Sally as her replacement and take a jab about how Sally won’t have the position for long.

Jack will angrily lead Phyllis into the main dining area to let her know she needs to stop this. Once Jack returns to Sally, Sharon will also advise Phyllis not to go there.

However, Phyllis will refuse to let Jack fall into Sally’s trap. Sharon will counter that she was questioning Phyllis’ method rather than her motives.

After Sally exits, Phyllis will tell Jack to hold up. She’ll ask how the Abbott household is doing after the fallout from the Locke article.

Phyllis will think it’s lucky that Kyle has the support of his family. She’ll end up bringing the conversation back to Sally as usual, which will frustrate Jack.

Phyllis will eventually promise to back off – though she’ll offer an alternative to Jack’s potential dinner with Sally tonight. She’ll start crying about how hard it is with Summer and Nick gone.

“I just feel so alone,” Phyllis will say. She’ll argue that nobody cheers her up like Jack, so he’ll finally relent and tell Phyllis that she wins. “One word about Sally…you pay!” Jack will add as Phyllis grins.

At the ranch, Victor will speak with Connor briefly before the kid heads off to text his friends.

That’ll leave Victor to bring up the Locke story to Adam, who’ll want to get their facts straight before they make any kind of move. Adam will have one very important thing to care of first, but he’ll suggest he’ll tell Victor about it later.

Afterward, Adam will visit Chelsea at her psychiatric facility. He’ll admit that Connor’s home, but he’ll add that he talked to Dr. Hedges (Michael Bofshever) and learned Chelsea isn’t ready to see their son yet.

Chelsea will flip out and argue that she has to see Connor! She’ll be even more upset that the ranch move has become official.

Adam will assure Chelsea that she can see Connor as soon as her doctor clears it, but that won’t be good enough for her. Nevertheless, that’s all Adam will be able to give Chelsea right now.

Once Adam is gone, Chelsea will scream into a pillow before Dr. Hedges appears. She’ll confront Dr. Hedges about his advice for Adam regarding Connor and will act like he’s doing what Victor wants.

Chelsea will argue that she needs to get out of there and be with her child. She’ll wonder how she can make that happen, but Dr. Hedges will counter that there are no deals to be made.

“Only time will heal your wounds,” Dr. Hedges will insist.

Back at the ranch, Adam will fill Victor in on a tip he got about Ashland’s canceled LA trip. He’ll realize Victor’s thinking Newman Media should do their own story about Ashland – a member of their board who’s been fair to them.

Adam will find that incredibly ruthless, which will earn a chuckle from Victor.

Victor will contend that he doesn’t “give a damn” how ill Ashland is from a business standpoint. He’ll want to jump on this and gobble up Ashland’s entire company.

We’ll keep you posted with other hot Y&R updates. The Young and the Restless spoilers say there’s much more Ashland drama to come, so stay tuned.
