The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Monday, May 17 Recap – Summer Slaps Sally – Tara Begs Kyle for Help – Rey & Sharon Reunite

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, May 17, reveals that Summer Newman (Hunter King) will slap Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) while Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) begs Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) for help. Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will also reunite with Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), so let’s talk about the details of Monday’s action-packed show.

At Society, Kyle will corner Tara and express his irritation over the interrupted engagement party. Tara will pick Harrison up and urge him to say hi to Kyle, so Harrison will indeed offer a sweet “hi.” After Tara insists that some things have happened, she’ll insist she just needs 10 minutes of Kyle’s time.

Kyle will send Tara back to his hotel to wait for him, so she’ll be grateful. Tara will promise she wouldn’t have come to Genoa City if she didn’t have to. She’ll push Kyle to come see her as soon as he can.

While the guests speculate on the whole Tara situation, Summer will drag Kyle back to the kitchen and demand to know why Tara showed up to the party with his son.

Kyle won’t know the details other than Tara seemed unnerved and needed to talk to him. Summer will want to go with Kyle to The Grand Phoenix, but he’ll warn that they can’t both ditch their engagement bash. Kyle also won’t want anything to spoil this night, so he’ll want to put off this meeting with Tara.

Nevertheless, Summer will plaster on a smile and tell everyone that they’ll have to press pause while they deal with a personal matter. Summer will insist they’ll be gone half an hour tops, so Kyle will argue that sounds reasonable and take off with her – leaving the guests looking confused.

“I’m going to need someone to explain to me what is going on between Kyle and Ashland Locke’s wife,” Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will declare.

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will try to act like it’s business, but Nick will think it seems personal. Phyllis will suggest that they’ll just have to step back and let Summer and Kyle figure it out.

Nick will feel like Phyllis knows more than she’s letting on and won’t like it one bit. He’ll insist none of this passes the sniff test and will feel like Phyllis needs to tell the whole truth if this is going to affect their daughter.

Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will worry about Kyle, but Jack Abbott (Michael Mealor) will offer reassurance and contend that they should keep the party going.

Jack and Mariah will joke around with Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway), who’ll promise she doesn’t need cheering up over missing Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz).

At The Grand Phoenix, Kyle will show up with Summer and learn that Harrison is with his nanny. Tara will want to speak with Kyle privately, which Kyle will object to since he doesn’t keep secrets from Summer.

Tara will insist it’s difficult to get into this with anyone besides Kyle, so Summer will push Kyle to respect Tara’s wishes and just go get this over with.

Once Kyle and Tara head up to his suite, Sally will pop up and taunt Summer. “Geez, what a pain!” Sally will exclaim. “I can’t believe you and Kyle still have to deal with that woman and the fallout from his affair. And on today of all days.”

Summer will suspect that Sally was behind Tara destroying her night, but Sally will insist she simply saw Tara passing through. Tara needed to find Kyle and said it was an emergency, so Sally pointed her in the direction of the engagement party.

Summer will think Sally was all too happy to do that, but Sally won’t think it’s her fault that Kyle’s still paying for his indiscretion.

Sally will add that Summer should probably watch out herself. “You know what they say. Once a cheater, always a cheater,” Sally will insist.

A furious Summer will slap Sally across the face in response! After Sally touches her tender cheek, she’ll suggest that the truth hurts and will sashay away.

Upstairs in Kyle’s suite, Tara will admit that Ashland gave her a chance to confess all and claimed he forgave her in advance. Ashland seemed contrite for driving his wife away, so Tara came clean about her affair with Kyle in the Hamptons.

As soon as the words were out of Tara’s mouth, Ashland dropped the act and transformed into the cruel, vindictive person he wants before.

Ashland told Tara that he wanted her gone by morning and that he wanted an immediate divorce. Kyle will realize Tara ran and took Harrison since she knew what Ashland was capable of. “I came to the one person who could help us,” Tara will say on Monday’s Y&R episode.

Tara will reveal that Ashland said she was an unfit mother and vowed to take her to court. Ashland argued that he’d convince the judge to keep Tara away from HIS son, so Kyle will wonder if Tara told Ashland about Harrison’s paternity.

Tara will deny it since she’s terrified to think about what Ashland’s reaction would be to that news. Kyle won’t think there’s any court that will allow Ashland to keep Tara away from her son, but she’ll insist Ashland has resources and connections to make good on his threats.

Tara will beg Kyle to hide her along with Harrison until she can figure something out. “If you won’t do it for me, do it for your son,” Tara will plead.

At Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) penthouse, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will rant about Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) being locked up. Adam will argue that he wasn’t even there when it happened, but he’ll believe Chelsea’s getting the mental help she needs following a breakdown.

Chloe will be outraged over Adam walking around free again while Chelsea pays the price. Adam will wonder if Chloe brought her weapons this time. Chloe will insist there has to be a way to stop Adam, but she’ll be unsure of how. “What is it going to take?” Chloe will snap in Monday’s Y&R episode.

After Chloe rants about Adam’s sickening treatment of Chelsea, he won’t deny that he messed up big time. Adam will be heartsick over what Chelsea’s been through, but Chloe will rant about Adam only realizing it after he drove the woman into an insane asylum!

Chloe will doubt Adam’s sincerity and will think it’s “too little, too late” even if he’s truly sorry.

Adam won’t want to fight about this anymore and will approve of Chloe visiting Chelsea while she recovers. Chloe will sarcastically suggest Adam’s quite a guy for supporting the idea of her visiting her best friend.

Chloe will add that Adam’s done all of the harm he’s going to do to them. If Chloe can block Adam from going anywhere near Chelsea, she’ll assure Adam that she’ll do it.

“That would be a mistake,” Adam will warn. He’ll point out that Chelsea most likely had help – and who else would hate Adam enough to go along with the plan and take the risk?

Adam will want to be a better person and part of that will come through helping Chelsea. He’ll make it clear that Chloe shouldn’t stand in his way or he’ll make trouble for her.

Chloe just won’t think it’s possible for Adam to truly turn things around. She’ll still feel like it’s best if Adam stays away from Chelsea and will grab her purse before sauntering out.

Afterward, Adam will call Chelsea’s facility for updates. He’ll have a change of heart moments later and hang up before giving the name of the patient he wanted to ask about.

Adam will grab a nearby framed picture of Chelsea and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) as he gets emotional. “I am so sorry, Chelsea. I’m so sorry,” Adam will say as he gazes at the photo.

At Crimson Lights, Sharon Rosales will assure Rey that she didn’t sleep with Adam. Rey will suggest he now believes Chelsea misinterpreted the situation in her mind.

“I accused you of being obsessed with Adam, but it was me. I’m the one who became obsessed,” Rey will admit. He’ll apologize for his role in their marriage problems and will wonder if Sharon can ever forgive him.

Sharon will be relieved to know they still have a chance and won’t think she’s like Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez), who took Rey for granted.

Sharon will promise she knows what a kind, understanding man Rey is and will want his forgiveness as well. She’ll acknowledge that she didn’t respect the boundaries she put in place and caused Rey to rightfully question her commitment.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Rey and Sharon will clasp hands on the table in a touching moment before heading back to the cottage. Rey will admit he missed the place even though it hasn’t been that long. Sharon will insist this is Rey’s home and that there’s no one else she wants.

Sharon will be glad Rey’s back to stay and will insist they’re only looking forward now – together. Rey will beam back at his wife following their reconciliation.

At the psychiatric hospital, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will be eager to get a full statement from Chelsea. However, Chelsea will angrily declare that it won’t matter what she tells Michael – and that’s because of Adam.

After Michael starts recording the conversation with her attorney present, Chelsea will snap that no matter what she says the outcome is the same. Adam will win and Chelsea will lose.

Michael will need Chelsea to explain what happened like she did before, but he’ll face some resistance. “It won’t matter, it won’t matter, it won’t matter…” Chelsea will mutter over and over. She’ll argue that Adam can pay off whoever he wants while she stays locked up forever.

Chelsea will get hysterical again as she shouts about Adam locking her up before with drugs in her water while she was kicking and screaming. “No one came to help me! I don’t have anybody. I’m all alone,” Chelsea will say as she gets choked up.

Michael will insist he can be fair and get justice, but he’ll need Chelsea to tell him everything. Chelsea will claim that her head hurts and she’s tired. She’ll tell Michael that she just wants to sleep, so her attorney will pipe up about it being enough for today.

Michael will decide to revisit this conversation later and will suggest maybe it’d be easier for Chelsea to try putting things down on paper. After Michael exits, Chelsea’s attorney will exchange a nod with her like everything went according to plan.

Afterward, Chelsea will think to herself about how she’s all alone and has lost everything. “And it’s her fault: Sharon. Sharon has destroyed my life,” Chelsea will say in her own mind.
