The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, October 18, reveals that hostage Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones) will await his fate while Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) cries to Noah Newman (Rory Gibson). Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will also seem jealous of Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) inner circle status, so let’s talk about the exciting Y&R show ahead.
In a moment alone, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will tell Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) that the clock is ticking. If they don’t publish the story Gaines wants, someone else will.
Billy will feel like either way, the world is going to learn all about Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) crimes.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will walk over and seem concerned when he hears Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) name, but Billy and Lily will manage to cover. After they’re alone again, Billy will insist they could control the narrative if they publish.
Lily will point out that she thought Billy was willing to support Victoria’s decision now. She’ll fear Billy’s trying to have it both ways.
After Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) arranges for Ashland to have a one-on-one conversation with Gaines, Ashland will head to the storage room Gaines is being held in.
Ashland will argue that coming there was a colossal miscalculation and will argue that what happens now depends on Gaines.
Ashland will end up ranting about how Gaines doesn’t know what he wants: to blackmail, punish him, take Victor’s money and run, to play Billy against Victor, etc.
Gaines will ask why he can’t have it all, but Ashland will fire back that life doesn’t work that way. He’ll add that Gaines could’ve walked away a very wealthy man but botched this himself.
Gaines will wonder if he’ll be handed over to the authorities or if the Newmans will make him disappear. Ashland will contend that they haven’t decided yet, but they’ll figure something out soon.
Next, Adam will praise Sally for having talent and everything she needs to back it up. He’ll think Sally may have changed a few of her adversaries’ minds by pulling off the perfect dress.
Although Victoria will assure Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) that she doesn’t approve of Sally’s deception, she’ll think everything turned out for the best.
Victoria will admit she was able to enjoy her magical day because she knew Victor would handle any problems that came up.
Once Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) finds Nick in his room, he’ll bring her up to speed on the will forgery and how Victor left him out of the loop.
Nick will be upset over Victor turning to Adam instead and will wonder why Ashland has such a tight grip on his family.
Phyllis will try to agree that Victor probably sees Ashland’s criminal behavior as a badge of honor.
However, Nick will warn against using his frustrations to attack his family. Phyllis will insist that’s not what she’s doing, but Nick will snap at her again when she says he was trying to do right by Victoria – just like Billy.
Nick won’t think it’s the same thing, but Phyllis will ask why any of them feel the need to rescue Victoria. She’ll insist Victoria isn’t a damsel in distress, so Nick will admit that’s true.
Nick will think back to a time when Victor tried to control his life, but Phyllis will hope Nick isn’t comparing her past to Ashland’s or acting like she’s a mistake.
Phyllis will seem offended, so Nick will shout that he’s not making that comparison at all. Once they both calm down a bit, Nick will once again complain about being cut out while Victor turned to Adam.
Next, Ashland will tell Billy and Lily that Gaines backed down. He’ll add that Gaines is no longer in the position to expose his past and will hope Billy can let this go, too.
Billy will explain the video situation and show it to Ashland before deleting it. He’ll insist that some things are more important than his job and argue that he’s doing this to preserve his relationship with Victoria.
Soon after, Ashland will offer Victoria updates on Gaines and Billy’s deleted video. Victoria will be hopeful that all the drama’s over and will want to revel in her wedding night with Ashland.
Once Tessa leaves Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) a voicemail, she’ll plaster on a smile and try to tell Noah that everything’s fine.
Noah will encourage Tessa to open up, so she’ll ultimately break down in tears over Mariah shutting her out and pushing her away.
After Tessa talks about Mariah’s trauma and her attachment to “Bowie,” Noah will know that must be hard for Tessa, too.
Tessa will confess that Mariah thinks the solution is to have a baby of their own, so Noah will wonder if that’s what she wants.
“Yeah…no…I mean, I don’t know,” Tessa will say with a sigh. She’ll admit that’s something they talked about for the future and will think it feels wrong to have a child for this reason.
Noah will acknowledge how Tessa feels about his sister. Although it took Noah some time to come to terms with that, he’ll insist he wants them both to be happy.
Tessa will admit she missed having Noah as a friend, so he’ll confirm that he’ll always be one.
Back with Jack, he’ll basically scold Sally for her dress scheme and think it’s lucky Victoria approved of the design. Sally will snap that luck had nothing to do with it.
Sally will wonder if it would kill Jack to say, “Good job, Sally.” Jack won’t know why Sally cares what he thinks, so she’ll decide he’s right before Adam appears.
Before Adam can lead Sally into the reception, Victor will pull his son aside for a Gaines meeting. Victor will still feel like Gaines is going to be a problem, so his gift to the newlyweds will be to prevent that from happening.
Adam will assure Victor that he’s there to help since family steps up when it counts. Suddenly, Nick will appear and contend that there are some things they need to clear up.
Back with Ashland and Victoria, they’ll be all smiles as they enter their reception to a flood of flashing cameras.
