The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) are both headed for heartbreak, so could this be the perfect time for a sizzling fresh-start romance?
Y&R isn’t being subtle about pushing bummed Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) back in lonely Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) direction. Jack and “Red” seem poised to get back together – perhaps after delivering a crushing cheating scandal blow to Nick.
However, Nick isn’t the only one who’s on the verge of relationship struggles.
Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is overprotective of his ex just like Phyllis is. Lily even went as far as to suggest Billy and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) like having unresolved issues between them.
Although Lily often tries to act secure in her romance with Billy, there have always been major concerns when it comes to Victoria.
Billy warned that Victoria’s marriage to Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) might be the biggest mistake of her life, so he’ll no doubt comfort her when his prediction comes true.
Victoria’s going to need a shoulder to cry on once Ashland’s proven to be a shady heartbreaker. Billy is the most logical option and could take his efforts to comfort Victoria too far.
It makes sense to reunite Victoria and Billy for the sake of a romantic shakeup, especially since it could lead to one for Lily, too.
Billy might end up betraying Lily with Victoria – or Lily could at least battle major fears about it happening.
There’s persistent strain between Lily and Billy that could build to a breakup and put them on new paths.
We’ve got Phyllis and Jack inching toward each other while Billy and Victoria might ultimately do the same.
That could leave a single Nick as well as a single Lily. There have always been fans rooting for Lily and Nick to be a couple, so it might be worth pursuing.
Even Christel Khalil herself has expressed a desire for a Nick and Lily pairing in the past.
This might be the ideal opportunity since everyone else seems to be paired up or moving toward their intended romantic destinations.
