The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) may be on a collision course to romance. Will breakups and Newman scheming create a new couple?
Nick is jaded when it comes to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and his lack of awareness. He feels like Victor pits his children against each other without caring about the fallout.
Nick’s feeling snubbed since Victor left him out of the loop on all the Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones) drama and relied on Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) help instead.
Since Nick’s so irritated with his family, you’d think he’d welcome Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) Newman negativity.
Instead, Nick feels like he’s the only one who should be criticizing the Newman clan. Y&R seems to be setting up Phyllis and Nick’s split, but who will Nick fall for next?
Lily might be a good option for Nick considering what’s ahead for her character. Victor, Adam and Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) ChancComm plot may not go over well with Nick, who might argue they ignored the price innocent Lily would pay.
Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) deserves Victor’s wrath, but Lily hasn’t really done anything wrong.
In fact, Lily has repeatedly worked to keep Billy’s Adam obsession under control. Unfortunately, Billy never listens and always ends up doing things behind Lily’s back.
It’s easy to see how Lily and Nick might do some commiserating down the road.
Unlike Phyllis, Nick could sympathize with Lily and share in her outrage. He won’t be able to deny that Lily has been unfairly targeted, so he’ll think it’s a classic case of Victor not caring about the collateral damage.
Then again, Lily might impress Nick by refraining from Newman badmouthing. She could keep the blame on Billy for provoking this nightmare and leave Nick thinking she’s a good woman for not slamming the Newmans – even if they deserve it.
Nick would also understand Lily’s frustration over Billy keeping her in the dark at times and not being as loyal as he should be.
That’s the situation Nick’s in with his family, so there’s the potential for Nick to connect with Lily in a big way. If Lily dumps Billy, that’d make it even easier to fall for someone different like Nick.
Will Nick and Lily fall for each other in the aftermath of ChancComm’s destruction?
Time will tell, but Nick’s going to need a new love interest if this Phyllis drama keeps up! Lily might be a great fit under the circumstances, so we’ll see what’s in store.
