The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Monday, February 8, tease that Summer Newman (Hunter King) will say goodbye to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) in the boardroom at Jabot just before Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) walks in, gushing about her promotion.
Suddenly, Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will burst in the boardroom and startle Kyle.
It won’t be long before Theo drops the bomb on Kyle, saying that he ran into someone from Kyle’s past in New York – Tara Locke – and that she had Kyle’s baby.
“Little Harrison, a cute kid,” Theo will say, noting that he has Kyle’s dimples. Theo will gloat, saying that now Kyle has a “rugrat grenade” that could go off at any time and that he isn’t untouchable.
After Theo leaves, Sally will muse that she hopes the information isn’t true, and that she hopes they can peacefully coexist. “I don’t want to blow up your life,” Sally will say. Later, Sally will leave Theo a voice mail thanking him for this gift and musing that now she’s protected.
At the Grand Phoenix, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will talk with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) ahead of the big Newman get-together later. Summer will walk in for drinks with Phyllis, and Nick will take off.
Summer will note to her mother that things are going well with Kyle, and Phyllis will give Summer a pep talk about dealing with Sally.
Soon, Kyle will rush in upset, and he’ll be dismayed to find Summer with Phyllis. Phyllis will give Summer and Kyle some privacy, and Kyle will say that Sally’s found out something about him and that he wants Summer to hear it from him. “I could lose everything, including you,” Kyle will lament.
At Newman Enterprises, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will recap some of the recent problems the family has had, including the Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) situation and how Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is lonely and has been wondering why things turned out with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) as they did.
At Crimson Lights, Billy and Johnny Abbott (Ryan and Holden Hare) will be waiting for Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) to show up when Victoria will breeze in, interrupting Billy’s attempt to tell Johnny about Lily.
Victoria and Billy will step aside and bicker about the timing of this news, and Lily will show up.
After Victoria goes, Billy and Lily will agree that now might be a confusing time to tell Johnny about them, so they’ll decide to wait. But as they’re enjoying hot chocolate with Johnny, Johnny will blurt out, “Are you daddy’s new girlfriend?”
Billy will explain the situation in kid friendly terms, saying that he and Lily are boyfriend and girlfriend now.
“Does this mean you and Mommy aren’t getting back together again?” Johnny will ask. Billy will tell Johnny that he and his Mom will always be there for him, and he’ll do his best to offer reassurances.
At Society, the Newmans will gather for their family get-together. Victor, Nikki, Nick, Victoria, and Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will be in attendance, and Abby will tell everyone about her surrogacy plans and how Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) is away on a mission.
Everyone will be thrilled for Abby. Later, Nikki will praise Victor for not mentioning Adam or Billy during the get-together.
Back at the Grand Phoenix, Kyle will be about to tell Summer the whole story about his supposed son when Nick walks into the lobby and approaches Phyllis. Summer and Kyle will leave the lobby to get some privacy, and Phyllis will worry about what’s going on.
Finally, Victoria will meet up with Billy at her house. Billy will relay that he and Lily had decided not to tell Johnny about their relationship, but that Johnny figured it out on his own. Victoria won’t be pleased when Billy says that Johnny took it pretty well.
