The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Tuesday, January 5, tease that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will visit with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) at Newman Enterprises.
Victoria will share the news about Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) stroke, and Victor will immediately leave a message for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), saying that he needs to be with his son right now.
Victor will soon show up at Adam’s penthouse, where Adam is having no luck getting permission to visit Chelsea at the hospital. Victor will call the chief of staff at the hospital, and almost immediately, Adam will be granted permission to visit with Chelsea.
Victor will reassure Adam that none of this was his fault, and Adam will thank his father for his help.
At Chancellor Communications, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will banter about ideas for their new story.
Amanda will suggest that Billy be the focus of the story, and that it could be a redemption story. Lily will love the idea, and Billy will rush off to get the ball rolling, while Amanda and Lily go for coffee.
At Society, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will encounter Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) at the bar. Sally will wonder if she has any hope of fixing things with Summer Newman (Hunter King), and she’ll assure Kyle that she has no sights on Summer’s job or on Kyle himself.
Sally will insist that she doesn’t want to be in competition with Summer.
At Jabot, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will talk with Summer about Sally. Jack will defend Sally, saying that Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) instigated the animosity that exists, and that Summer should give Sally a chance. Summer will listen, but she’ll be skeptical.
Later, after a meeting with Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) and Sally, Jack will address the situation between Sally and Summer. Jack will say that he talked with Summer earlier, and that she’s open to having a conversation with Sally.
Sally will be appreciative, and after Sally goes, Jack and Lauren will collectively wonder why Sally came to Genoa City.
Back at Society, Summer and Kyle will meet up, and they’ll discuss Sally at length. Summer will be irked that both Kyle and Jack want her to make nice with Sally, and Kyle will suggest that Summer keep Sally close to keep an eye on her. Summer will decide to meet with Sally to clear the air.
At another table, Billy will be dining when Victoria arrives with news about the winter festival for the kids. After dancing around the subject, Billy will conversationally accuse Victoria of using Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare) to get him to cancel his trip with Lily.
Victoria will overly deny it, and Billy will look like he realizes exactly what Victoria is up to.
At Crimson Lights, Amanda and Lily will talk, and Amanda will relay the story about seeing her birth mom Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) from a distance.
Amanda will relay that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) thinks that she should get answers from Naya, and Lily will agree, giving Amanda further food for thought.
Out on the patio, Sally and Summer will have coffee, and Sally will apologize for listening to Theo, and she’ll say that she’s not after the Jabot Collective position or Kyle. Summer will string Sally along, being polite but noncommittal as Sally lays it on a little too thick about how the two of them will become great friends.
Summer will head back to Jabot, where she’ll tell Kyle that she’s going to definitely keep Sally close and pretend to buy her act. Summer will say that she needs to know more about Sally, so she’s going to pack her best Forrester outfits and head to Los Angeles.
Back at Chancellor Communications, Billy and Lily will regroup, and Lily will pledge to always be there for Billy. Meanwhile, Amanda will head back to her suite at the Grand Phoenix, where she’ll get brave and call Naya again.
Naya will answer, and Amanda will tell Naya who she is and say that she’s one of the daughters that Naya gave up. Naya will be stunned.
Finally, at the hospital, Adam will finally get into see Chelsea in her room. Chelsea will be motionless in the bed, unable to speak or move. Adam will say Chelsea’s name, and Chelsea will look at Adam.
