The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) may be looking at some very big life changes soon. Even though viewers haven’t seen any new episodes for the past few days due to special news preemptions, we have the scoop about what’s coming as soon as new programming picks back up, and it’s not looking good for Rey’s marriage to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) at all. I
n fact after a huge cheating scandal gets plastered all over Genoa City it seems a divorce for Rey and Sharon is likely.
Sharon and Rey will finally have it out about what Rey walked in on in his own home. Y&R viewers will remember that Rey caught Sharon and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) holding hands in the living room and sharing a close moment together.
Needless to say, Rey won’t be at all happy, and after he gives Sharon an ultimatum to stay away from Adam, Sharon will take off and predictably bump right into Adam at Society.
After Sharon and Adam share a kiss, it looks like all heck is going to break loose, since Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) will end up with a photo of that kiss. We have to think that there’s a good chance that once Rey sees that picture, it’s going to be the end of the line for his marriage to Sharon.
It’s hard to imagine Rey not divorcing Sharon after seeing her actually kiss Adam…especially since it happened in the moments after Rey gave her the ultimatum.
This whole situation is a real shame for Rey, since he lived through another cheating nightmare with Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez) and Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela).
Rey had to go through a whole “who’s the father” situation with Mia and Arturo, and he was really hoping that getting together with Sharon was going to lead to a nice, stable, and drama-free existence. Sadly, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
And that’s why Rey will probably bolt on Sharon. He simply has no tolerance for cheating, and he’s been there and done that, so to speak. But if Rey does divorce Sharon, then what’s his romantic future going to look like in Genoa City? Surely, Rey will need to be paired up with someone, but who?
Well, one option that would absolutely thrill Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) would be for Rey and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) to get together.
Victoria is currently busying herself by trying to drive a wedge between Billy and Lily, and it was recently revealed in a Victoria-centric episode that Victoria is lonely and really needs a life.
Victoria also needs someone who is strong unto himself and doesn’t have “Billy” type issues. Rey certainly knows who he is, plays things by the book, and doesn’t live on the edge by any means. Maybe Rey and Victoria would end up being a good match for each other.
Of course, another option for Rey that could work might be Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
Right now, it looks like TPTB are going in the direction of Sally and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), but we can think of a reason why Rey and Sally might be perfect for each other.
Rey could counterbalance some of Sally’s “out there” tendencies, and Sally probably wouldn’t cheat on Rey.
If anything, Sally tends to get too attached to her men (even to the point of faking a terminal illness to hold onto one!) so the likelihood that Sally would be anything other than totally devoted to Rey would be slim.
And that seems to be just what Rey needs – someone who doesn’t have a tendency to wander or court trouble with other men.
We’ll see what happens here, but we could definitely see a future for Rey with either Victoria of Sally…because it sure seems like things aren’t going to end well for Rey and Sharon!
