The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that new revelations point to Richard Nealon’s murder being solved – and it looks like Sutton Ames (Jack Landron) and Eric Benedict had Amanda Sinclair’s (Karla Mosley) dad killed! Let’s examine the clues as Y&R prepares to unravel the rest of the mystery.
On the Monday, May 24 episode, Amanda will learn something that completely changes her view of this case. She’s been operating under the assumption that Richard might’ve been trying to blackmail Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) or another Newman executive.
Instead, Amanda will find out Richard was searching for his missing child and went to Victor for assistance.
Of course, it’s awfully suspicious that Richard decided to find his child and suddenly got himself killed. Perhaps all this talk of blackmail and corruption was meant to throw everyone off the trail.
The real motive for Richard’s murder was seemingly to prevent Richard from finding his twin daughters or even that he had twins at all.
Richard didn’t know Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) had two babies, but he at least discovered she was pregnant based on these new facts. Who would have a motive to take Richard out and prevent the discovery of his twin girls?
Sutton immediately comes to mind – and so does Naya’s husband, Eric Benedict. It’s possible this murder was a team effort all those years ago.
Amanda can’t figure out why Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) seems loyal to her family in some ways and disloyal in others. Imani’s behavior lately has led Amanda to believe there’s some sort of hidden message her half-sister has in mind.
We also know Imani flat-out admitted that Sutton was capable of murder, though she didn’t believe he committed this one. Perhaps Eric took the lead on plotting this murder and got help from Sutton with the cover-up.
Imani talked about worrying how her father would react to Amanda, but Eric was welcoming at the gathering Amanda attended and even pointed out a family resemblance.
Since Eric was supposedly fine with Amanda becoming part of the fam, Imani suggested that as a reason for her sudden attitude shift.
However, Eric’s support may be phony or coming from a place of guilt. If Eric had Richard killed, he may feel like he has to be pleasant to Amanda now – especially since she’s defending Sutton.
Naya may know more than she’s letting on as well since she’d have a motive to protect her father and husband. Regardless, it makes sense that after Naya had given up her twins and was an item with Eric, he wouldn’t have wanted Richard seeking out that connection.
Eric may have thought he could bury Naya’s past along with the secret of her twin daughters.
