The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) may plot to steal Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway) baby. Will Max Rayburn’s (Jared Breeze) death trigger a mental break and the desire to start over with a new son?
Of course, we’re not saying that a child can just be replaced, but grief can mess with a person’s mind.
Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) really went off the deep end after the death of Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) and became desperate for another child to ease the pain somehow.
Stitch admitted to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) that he pretty much just works at the hospital in Iowa City and visits Max. His life consists solely of those two things.
Stitch also seemed heartbroken over the fact that Max doesn’t recognize him anymore. He’s watching his child fade away right in front of him – and it’s clearly taking a toll.
Y&R spoilers say Max’s condition is only going to get worse, so it looks like he’ll eventually pass away and force Stitch to figure out what his life looks like without him.
Based on the behavior we’ve seen from Stitch so far, we don’t have high hopes for him to cope very well.
What happens once Mariah gives birth to what will hopefully be a happy, healthy baby boy – so full of life and ready for love?
From Stitch’s perspective, this baby will be everything he’s longing for. In Stitch’s fractured mental state, kidnapping a new son for himself might seem reasonable.
Naturally, Stitch would prefer to raise this baby with Abby and build a life together, but that won’t be possible if Chance Chancellor (last played by Donna Boaz) comes home and stays in the picture.
Stitch could easily decide the next best thing is stealing the baby and bolting to raise him on his own.
It felt significant and ominous when Stitch stood outside the Chancellor mansion and peeked in the window at pregnant Mariah.
Stitch was specifically looking at Mariah clutching her baby bump, so this is about the baby – not just unresolved feelings for Abby.
The show seems to be working the child angle more since Stitch is losing a son while Abby’s gaining one.
Will Stitch ultimately resort to kidnapping Abby’s bundle of joy? Once Mariah gives birth to Abby’s baby boy, there’s no doubt going to be trouble in some form!
