The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Summer Newman-Abbott (Hunter King) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will get some shocking news, so Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) inevitable reunion is sure to bring some strong opinions.
At this point, Jack and Phyllis can’t avoid their deep feelings for each other.
Although Jack is wary of getting hurt again and Phyllis is just as wary of hurting him, they can only fight this for so long. Phyllis and Jack will no doubt want to take things slow, but they’re on the verge of getting back together romantically.
Of course, that means Jack and Phyllis will have to tell their kids sooner or later. How will Kyle and Summer feel once they get updates on this change in the duo’s relationship status? There could be a bit of a mixed reaction after the news makes its way to Italy.
It’d be nice if the show could give us some video chats or even a visit home to let Summer and Kyle weigh in. However, Y&R can always just do some phone calls – even ones that happen offscreen.
Regardless, Kyle and Summer will need to be told what’s going on back in Genoa City. That means fans will eventually hear what Summer and Kyle had to say, even if we have to hear it through Jack and Phyllis.
Will Summer and Kyle approve of Phyllis reuniting with Jack?
There’s no denying the powerful bond between Jack and Phyllis, so Summer may acknowledge that. Summer’s been rooting for Jack to find love for a long time, so part of her may be excited he found his way back to her mom.
Nevertheless, Summer knows Phyllis isn’t the greatest at relationships and may worry Jack’s going to get his heart broken again.
Kyle may have similar fears, but he also knows a thing or two about loving a complicated woman. He may be able to relate to Jack’s inability to shake Phyllis and understand that you never get over “the one.”
In the end, Summer and Kyle’s opinions aren’t going to affect Phyllis and Jack’s desire to be together.
Perhaps Kyle and Summer will realize that and mostly wish the reunited couple well. They’ll want Jack and Phyllis to proceed with caution, but they surely won’t want to stand in the way of true love.
