The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Summer Newman (Hunter King) will have to deal with Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) son confession during the week of February 8-12.
Kyle will be forced into a corner thanks to Theo Vanderway’s (Tyler Johnson) decision to blab to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
It’ll set the stage for Kyle to confess his affair in New York and the child that came about because of it. Of course, Kyle was able to brush this kid under the rug due to the circumstances of all this.
Kyle was younger and far more irresponsible then. The married woman Kyle slept with was probably wise to raise the baby with her husband, a major mogul named Ashland Locke.
Kyle clearly wasn’t ready for a child at the time, but is he ready now? Could Y&R be building to a story where Kyle’s involved in this kid’s life? Once Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) finds out Kyle’s secret, he may warn that Kyle will regret it if he never tries to make a connection with his own flesh and blood.
Jack might reflect on the abandonment issues that the Abbotts faced due to Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) decision to bail on them. Although the family was able to come together with Dina before her death, it took a lot of work – and there’s always going to be some level of pain when they think back.
It isn’t exactly the same situation here, but Jack could still urge Kyle to plan ahead and think about how this kid might feel down the road. Jack may think it’d be a mistake to just pretend Kyle’s child doesn’t exist, which is obviously what Kyle’s been doing.
Kyle certainly won’t want to cause emotional distress, but he might push for visitation eventually. It wouldn’t be a bad idea for Kyle to try to form a relationship. The Young and the Restless might even do a custody war at some point depending on this child’s home life and whether it’s a good environment to grow up in.
It might be fun if Summer and Kyle end up raising this child at some point. Could you imagine a sudden parenthood scenario for “Skyle”? Will Summer have to embrace some sort of mommy role? It’s something fun to ponder, but Summer has to decide it she’ll stand by Kyle first!
Breaking up with Kyle over such a huge secret is an option, but it’s also possible Summer will hang in there and try to make this work. If Summer does stick with Kyle, she might find herself becoming an actual stepmom to Kyle’s son sooner or later.
