The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, December 16, reveals that Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will become more open to having a baby with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) while Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) confession enrages Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson). Here’s what Y&R fans can look forward to.
At the penthouse, Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) will reflect on movie and pizza nights with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) – back when they were a real family.
Adam will assure Connor that he’s going to make lots of fun memories there now with his mom.
While Connor is upstairs, Chelsea will admit it’s strange being back there with all the memories. She’ll keep playing over in her mind what they could’ve done differently and will remind Adam that they loved each other.
Chelsea will argue that there was so much good in their relationship once and mention Connor as proof of that.
Adam will start to leave, but Chelsea will urge him to stay and talk about the fashion division. She’ll seem quite curious about Adam’s trip to Tuscany with Sally, but Adam will argue that was about boosting the platform and will suggest he simply gave Sally a lift.
Chelsea will want to meet Sally before she agrees to collaborate, so Adam will suggest there’s no rush. Both Adam and Chelsea will agree to focus on what’s important, which is Connor.
When Chloe catches Sally in that spying getup at Society, she’ll demand to know “what the hell” Sally’s doing.
Sally will eventually admit to spying on Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) anonymously and sending the info to Adam. She’ll act like she’s trying to keep the fashion division from going up in flames, but Chloe will counter that Sally has become Adam’s little puppet.
Chloe will insist Adam is manipulating Sally and will add that she’s playing right into his hands. Now that Chelsea is back, Chloe will think it’s time for Sally to decide if she wants to play games with Adam or be part of their fashion team.
Once Chloe and Sally join Adam in his office, he’ll point out that Chelsea may not want a job on the fashion platform. Adam will suggest they need to be ready to move forward without her, but Chloe will think Chelsea just needs some reassurance and a chance to meet Sally face to face.
Sally will claim she’s looking forward to it before Adam asks for a word in private.
Although Sally will feel like she’s being called to the principal’s office, Adam will insist she’s not in trouble. He’ll mention the anonymous texts and videos he’s been getting that don’t paint Billy in the best light.
Sally will contend that whoever is willing to stick their neck out like that to help must be pretty special.
Adam will admit his interest has been piqued, but he’ll point out that he can’t exactly trust this anonymous source since it could be a trap. He’ll note that the person is obviously local and won’t think there are many people who would go to that kind of trouble to send him Billy intel.
Adam will ask if Sally has any thoughts on who might be behind the messages, so he’ll clearly be messing with her a bit.
Meanwhile, Chloe will show up at the penthouse and push Chelsea to commit to the spot on the fashion platform. Chelsea won’t be sure that’s the best move for her right now.
Chelsea will mention how disconnected she is to everyone in town besides Connor and will add that maybe she doesn’t belong in Genoa City anymore.
At Crimson Lights, Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) will show off the work he’s done so far for Tessa’s album cover.
Mariah will immediately spot things to change, so Noah will seem offended over how opinionated she’s become. When Noah pushes Tessa to pick a side, she’ll seem uncomfortable.
However, Noah will admit he was just messing with Mariah and Tessa by giving them an intentionally bad design – just to see their reaction. They’ll all share some laughs before Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) comes in with Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines).
After Tessa teases Faith about being a snack thief, Mariah will pipe up about how her sister always shares her tips with the other baristas.
Faith will crack a joke about Tessa and Mariah seeming like super sweet and corny parents on a sitcom.
Noah will keep that theme going with his own jokes about what kind of moms they’d be on the show, but Mariah will seem saddened over all the parent talk.
Once Tessa notices, she’ll change the subject to her album and get Noah to show off the real work he’s done.
Mariah will leave in a hurry after blaming work, so that’ll leave Tessa distracted as she tries to talk to Noah. Once Faith grabs a nearby table with Moses, she’ll raise an eyebrow over the way Noah’s acting around Tessa.
Later, Faith will share a moment alone with her big brother and push for honesty. She’ll want to know if Noah still has feelings for Tessa, but he’ll shut down the idea.
Faith will point out that she has eyes and has picked up on the vibe Noah was giving off more than once – like he was wondering “what if.”
However, Noah will argue that he’s just friends with Tessa and will blame his lovesick puppy look on his more recent heartbreak. He’ll urge Faith to find someone else to worry about and will try to shift the conversation to Moses instead.
At the Chancellor mansion, Mariah will seem hesitant before she ultimately knocks on the door. The nanny will answer and reveal that Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor is out with his parents, so Mariah will leave feeling rather foolish.
When Mariah returns to her suite, she’ll find Tessa waiting for her. Mariah will acknowledge that she got uncomfortable at the coffeehouse earlier, though she won’t expect people to have baby-free conversations around her.
Mariah will admit she just can’t stop thinking about what incredible parents they’d be.
After Mariah mentions stopping by the Chancellor mansion and learning Dominic wasn’t there, she’ll confess to feeling stupid – just standing there like a stranger in the doorway waiting to see someone else’s baby.
Mariah will acknowledge that “Bowie” is really Dominic and will downplay the special bond that everyone else keeps hyping.
Once Mariah admits to feeling more maternal now and talks about how excited she’d be if Tessa had a change of heart, she’ll get that they’re not in the same place.
Mariah will want to discuss something else instead, but Tessa will be grateful for her honesty as she takes Mariah’s hands in her own.
Tessa won’t be as certain about the idea of having a baby and won’t be ready to commit to it just yet, but she’ll be willing to talk more about it. That news will thrill Mariah as she lets out a little gasp in surprise.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Mariah and Tessa will have more discussions about their future soon, so stay tuned.
