The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, December 23, teases that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will crash Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) holiday fun while Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) accepts Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) deal.
At the ranch on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will remind Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) that there should be no business talk over the holidays.
When Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) pops in, Victor will ask for help wrapping the hockey gear he bought Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) for Christmas.
At Crimson Lights, Nick will have a sweet chat with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) about Christmas and the kids. However, Sharon will sense that something’s bothering Nick and will think she knows exactly what it is.
Sharon will mention Summer Newman-Abbott (Hunter King) being so far away, but that won’t be what’s on Nick’s mind.
It won’t really be Nick’s breakup with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) either. Nick will argue that he’s just been going through a lot and asking questions about his place in the world.
Sharon will assure Nick that he’s a good man, thoughtful friend, wonderful father and outstanding member of the community.
After all these years, Sharon will think they know each other better than anyone else – and that’s why she’ll know Nick is going to work through this.
At home, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will hang a bunch of mistletoe to make sure he can kiss Lily Winters (Christel Khahil) under it.
They’ll indeed share a holiday smooch before Lily suggests they should each open one gift early.
Lily will receive tickets to a Broadway show she’s been dying to see while Billy gets some VIP concert passes. The happy couple will get passionate on the sofa and reflect on the last year together.
At Newman Media, Sally will find Adam in his office and argue that he shouldn’t be there on Christmas Eve. Adam will suggest he could say the same thing to Sally, but she’ll counter that Adam’s the one with the big family waiting for holiday activities.
Adam will wonder if Sally is fishing for an invitation to the gathering, but she’ll insist she’s a “lone wolf” who’s capable of spending Christmas on her own. Even so, Adam will have a few minutes to spare and will ask Sally if she’d like to join him for a holiday drink.
At the penthouse, Chelsea will wrap gifts with Connor before he asks what she got Adam for Christmas.
Chelsea will admit she got two gifts, but she won’t be sure whether she’s going to actually give them.
Chelsea will reveal that she bought Adam a jacket before pointing out a framed picture of a house by a lake. Connor won’t think that seems like a good match for Adam, but Chelsea will insist Adam will understand if she decides to give it to him.
In a moment alone, Chelsea will reflect on how that picture used to match them both perfectly. She’ll think back to Adam telling her they were home and explaining that he wanted to surprise her by buying the place.
Back at the ranch, Noah will scramble to hide the hockey gear he’s wrapping when Connor appears with Chelsea.
Connor will spot it anyway and wonder if he can try it out instead of going horseback riding.
Noah will tell Chelsea he’d be willing to show Connor the basics out on the pond, but Chelsea will be a little nervous to let him.
After Noah promises there’ll be no frostbite or broken bones, Chelsea will tease that he’d better bring Connor back with all his teeth. She’ll urge Connor to listen to everything Noah tells him and vow to pick her son up later.
At Society, Sally will describe what Christmas is like for her as a lone wolf. She’ll end up laughing with Adam about It’s a Wonderful Life before Chelsea witnesses the warm moment.
When Adam notices Chelsea, he’ll lie that they were just discussing what’s next for the fashion platform and urge her to join them.
Adam will watch as Chelsea gabs about fashion plans with Sally, who’ll ask if Chelsea still has connections in the industry.
Chelsea will make it clear that she has a strong track record and will work in a subtle dig about Victoria Newman-Locke’s (Amelia Heinle) wedding dress being old news.
Adam will think they should put work on hold and focus on some holiday cheer. That’ll lead to Chelsea babbling on about how great it’ll be to spend Christmas with Adam and Connor – just the three of them.
Chelsea will wonder if Sally’s jetting off somewhere, but Sally will insist she’s staying in town. She’ll also mention that she’s practically married to her job, which is better than she could’ve ever dreamed.
After Chelsea picks Connor up from the ranch, Noah will reflect on what an awesome kid Connor is.
Noah won’t think Connor is anything like Adam, but he’ll get that Adam went through a lot of trauma when he was young that affected him.
Back at Society, Adam will call Sally out on her “one-upmanship” with Chelsea and how she was trying to gain a competitive edge.
Sally will contend that they simply challenge each other and will argue that this is going to be an exciting partnership.
Adam will argue that Chelsea considers herself the boss, but he’ll opt to stay out of this.
When Adam prepares to leave, Sally will thank him for taking the time to hang out with her. After they wish each other a merry Christmas, Adam will kiss Sally on the cheek before he goes.
Back at the penthouse, Chelsea will decide to wrap Adam’s present. Meanwhile, Nikki will share a romantic dance with Victor at the ranch.
In Victoria’s office, she’ll have some loose ends to tie up before she can leave.
Ashland will tease Victoria about being Scrooge before deciding the work will go faster if they join forces – and they’ll indeed wrap things up quickly.
After Ashland and Victoria show up at the coffeehouse, Nick will think back to how harsh he was the last time he talked to Ashland.
Nick will corner the couple by the counter and admit there’s something he’d like to get off his chest.
Nick will want to put this resentful chapter to rest and start fresh, so he’ll end up shaking hands with Ashland in agreement.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nick will have more lessons to learn as the week winds down, so stay tuned.
