The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Thursday, May 20 Recap – Rey Visits Chelsea – Summer Confesses – Kevin Panics

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, May 20, teases that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will demand a Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) visit immediately.

Meanwhile, Summer Newman (Hunter King) will confess to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) – and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) will panic over the threat to his family.

At Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) penthouse, he’ll be taken aback when Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) shows up to see him. Nick will admit he wasn’t planning on it, but he wound up there anyway.

Adam and Nick will decide to try some brotherly bonding, so they’ll watch a baseball game and joke around a bit.

When Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) arrives, it’ll warm his heart to see the brothers hanging out like this. After Nick exits, Victor will suggest that he’d like to see more of Nick and Adam doing things together.

Adam won’t think Victor should get his hopes up, but he’ll assure Victor he wants to make amends and become a new man.

Victor will decide they need to change the name of Cyaxares since he doesn’t even know what that word means. He’ll think they should go for Newman Media and won’t care what Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) thinks about it.

Victor will tell Adam that they’re going to crush ChancComm – and after that, the sky’s the limit!

At Society, Victoria will quiz Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) about why he signed his media company over to Victor and Adam. Ashland will lie that there was no coercion and that he simply decided Victoria had her hands full with her own empire.

Ashland will argue that Adam and Victor can give Cyaxares the attention it needs.

Talk will turn to how long Ashland’s going to be in town, so he’ll note that it’s unclear. When Victoria brings up Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner), she’ll quickly realize she’s struck a nerve.

Ashland will admit he’s no longer with Tara and that he’s filing for divorce first thing in the morning. He’ll think Victoria’s a kindred spirit since he’s read up on her history and knows everything she’s been through.

After Victoria contends that it’s a story for another day, Ashland will suggest he’s going to hold her to that. Victoria will point out that she might be awfully busy running that empire of hers.

Ashland will just hope that there are no hard feelings over the Cyaxares deal, but Victoria will argue that business is business and that you win some, you lose some.

At Crimson Lights, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will offer updates to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) on the realtor meeting he arranged. Billy will insist they’re going to look at some potential new homes, but Lily will seem uneasy about it happening so soon.

When Billy offers to cancel, Lily will reveal she’s just kidding and is actually quite on board with this home hunt.

Later, Lily and Billy will arrive at Society right as Ashland’s parting ways with Victoria. Once Ashland’s going, Billy and Lily will push Victoria for answers about why she’s suddenly so chummy with Ashland.

They’ll suspect Victoria’s plotting some sort of move, but Victoria will neither confirm nor deny it.

Once Lily and Billy are alone, they’ll be on the same page about beginning a new chapter in a place of their own. While Billy and Lily toast to that chapter, Kevin will grill Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) about her involvement in Chelsea’s poisoning scheme.

Chloe will confess to planting trinkets in Adam’s car and picking up a package for Chelsea.

After Chloe admits that package wound up containing thallium, she’ll assure Kevin that she would’ve said no if she’d known the extent of Chelsea’s scheme.

Kevin will be upset over Chloe potentially being dragged into an attempted murder investigation. He’ll feel like Chloe should’ve come to him once she realized she was in trouble, but Chloe won’t think she’s going to be implicated.

Kevin will point out that he’s surely not the only one who wondered if Chloe might be up to her eyeballs in all this. Suddenly, Rey will appear and approach the couple’s table at the coffeehouse.

Rey will ask at what point Chloe determined that Chelsea was having a mental breakdown and putting her plans into effect.

Chloe will contend that she became aware a long time ago that Chelsea felt betrayed by Adam, but knowing that wasn’t the same as realizing how far gone she was. Rey will wonder how Chelsea indicated her state of mind if she couldn’t speak.

Kevin will pipe up to suggest that it’s not cool for Rey to put Chloe on the spot, especially during their family time since Miles will be there in the stroller.

Rey will suggest that he’s just trying to put the pieces together. He won’t get why Chloe didn’t try to get Chelsea some help if she saw so much anguish in her eyes.

Rey will ask if Chloe knew Chelsea was faking her paralysis, but Chloe will lie that she didn’t.

At the psychiatric hospital, Chelsea will pace around until someone appears in the doorway. She’ll freak when she looks up and thinks it’s Adam, but it’ll just be a staff member with her dinner.

Chelsea will turn down her meal and push to see Dr. Hedges (Michael Bofshever) right away.

When Dr. Hedges arrives, Chelsea will insist she doesn’t feel safe there. She’ll argue that Dr. Hedges doesn’t understand what Adam is capable of. Dr. Hedges will promise that everything’s fine and will urge Chelsea to focus on healing.

After Chelsea reminds the doc that her mental breakdown was fake, he’ll still think Chelsea has a lot of trauma to process.

Chelsea will decide she has to get Rey to forgive her and will want a visit tonight. She’ll think it’ll take a huge burden off her shoulders and make her feel safe. It’ll take some convincing, but Dr. Hedges will agree to call Rey over immediately.

That’ll cut Rey’s interrogation of Chloe short and bring him to Chelsea’s room soon after.

Chelsea will know they’ve been over some of this already, but she’ll really hope Rey can find it in his heart to forgive her. She’ll assure Rey that what she did wasn’t an attack on him.

It was a means to an end – a way to get Adam out of her life for good. Chelsea will point out that her doctors think the stroke caused her to think that way or else she just snapped after all Adam’s harsh treatment.

Rey will wonder why Chelsea didn’t get help after she regained her ability to speak. Chelsea will counter that she didn’t know she needed it. She’ll insist she reached the point of no return, so she was just broken and lost.

At The Grand Phoenix, Tara will feel like Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) thinks she’s being paranoid. They’ll talk about one time Tara was convinced some guys were following them at an oyster bar in Montag.

Kyle will suggest they were likely insurance salesmen, so he’ll laugh with Tara – and Summer will give them both an annoyed look.

Tara will point out that Kyle always had a knack for calming her down. Kyle will vow to claim paternity, but he won’t think it’s wise for Tara to stick around his suite any longer. He’ll suggest they can talk tomorrow and will escort Tara back to her own suite.

After Summer gets a text from Phyllis, she’ll join her mom in the lobby and admit Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) is Kyle’s little boy. Summer will reveal that Kyle’s going to claim paternity, which Phyllis will be firmly against.

Phyllis will be upset over Summer’s plans for the future being derailed, but Summer will still love Kyle and want to be with him.

Ashland will waltz over and apologize for his earlier threats. He’ll want to check in a suite, but Phyllis will snap that there’s no room for him there. After Ashland leaves, Phyllis will assume he wants to make things ugly for everyone.

“He doesn’t scare me. Don’t you dare let him scare you,” Phyllis will tell Summer.

When Kyle returns to his suite, he’ll seem stressed to realize that Summer’s gone. Kyle will text Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) that they’ll talk first thing in the morning before Summer returns.

Summer will assure Kyle that she’s not mad at him. She’ll insist she’s scared instead, so Kyle will assume Summer means she’s afraid of Ashland.

Summer will argue that she’s scared of where all this leaves them instead. She’ll note that Kyle’s about to take on the role of Harrison’s dad and will be co-parenting with Tara.

Kyle will insist that nothing’s been decided beyond him claiming paternity. He’ll want to make decisions with Summer and will promise they’re going to be OK.

Back down in the lobby on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Phyllis will be surprised to learn Nick was hanging out with Adam.

When the conversation shifts to Kyle and Tara, Phyllis will push Nick to be patient. She’ll think Nick has to relax and let Summer come to him like she wants to in the morning.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Summer’s fears are only going to grow stronger as this storyline moves forward. CDL’s where you want to be for scorching Young and the Restless spoilers, updates and news posts, so pop back in soon.
