The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Thursday, October 21, tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will have a fierce phone fight while Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) makes a tricky return home to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes).
First on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Adam will get into an argument with Chelsea, who’ll still be in Minnesota caring for Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach).
These exes will snap at each other over the phone or perhaps a video chat – and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will be within earshot when it happens.
Devon may admit it’s none of his business, but he’ll still feel the need to intervene and try to guide Adam down the right path. Now that Devon has a biological child in the world, he understands how powerful that bond can be.
Devon will point out that Adam still has Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) in Genoa City, but Chelsea’s on her own and missing her son.
The extended separation has to be taking a toll on Chelsea, so Devon will think Adam needs to cut Connor’s mom a little slack.
Once Adam gains a new perspective, he’ll call Chelsea back and hope they can have a civil conversation.
Adam will ask when Chelsea might be coming back to Genoa City, but she’ll just hang up on him and leave him exasperated with the situation.
Meanwhile, Tessa will no doubt wonder what version of Mariah she’ll be coming home to.
Mariah has been all over the place emotionally, but she should be quite happy to see Tessa upon her return.
There’ll be some cute “Teriah” moments, but something tells us the bliss may be broken by a familiar topic.
Mariah can’t go very long without suggesting the idea of having a baby of their own, so we’ll see if that comes up again on Thursday.
Tessa may also mention reconnecting with Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) while in Tuscany, so there could be trouble if Mariah feels like her girlfriend’s been blabbing their problems once more.
Whatever the case, Tessa will head back into tricky territory and have to handle things as best as she can.
Next, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will try to fake it ‘til she makes it.
Abby will pretend she’s fine, but she’ll really be missing Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz) and will be extremely frustrated over his lengthy mission.
Abby will just want Chance home to help raise Dominic Newman-Chancellor-Abbott, but a terrible twist is brewing before the week’s over.
Chance’s presumed death is just around the corner, so stay tuned for some major drama once Friday rolls around.
