The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Thursday, October 21 Recap – Adam Excludes Chelsea from Connor Choice – Lauren Blasts Sally

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, October 21, reveals that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will exclude an angry Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) from a Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) decision. Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will also blast Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), so here’s what Y&R fans can look forward to.

At Crimson Lights, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will have concerns when she finds Adam and Sally together hours after their plane landed. She’ll wonder if anything happened in Tuscany that they’d like to fill her in on, but Adam and Sally will keep the focus on the wedding dress.

Speaking of that dress, Chloe will allude to some new developments – and Adam will take that as his cue to leave. Once Chloe’s alone with Sally, she’ll admit there’s been some personal fallout from their plan.

Chloe will fill Sally in on Lauren’s fury, so Sally will feel terrible that Chloe got caught in the crossfire. If there’s anything Sally can do to make things right, she’ll want to do it.

“Oh, I think you’ve done more than enough already,” Lauren will pipe up as she saunters in. She’ll rip Sally to shreds over the dress scheme and won’t buy Sally’s attempt at a defense.

Lauren will insist Sally’s going to alienate everyone in her life and will vow not to shed a tear when Sally realizes the best thing she can do is leave town.

After Sally hopes that one day Lauren will see her in a different light, she’ll head for the exit. That’ll leave Chloe wondering if Lauren’s done with her too or if there’s still a chance to repair things between them.

Lauren will accept Chloe’s apology, but she’ll advise against continuing to work with Sally – who’ll inevitably stab Chloe in the back according to Lauren.

At The Grand Phoenix, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will return to her suite and find that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is gone.

Tessa will leave Mariah a voicemail about being wiped from her trip and will let Mariah know she’ll be there waiting for her.

At the Chancellor mansion, Mariah will suggest the nanny can take a breather while she watches over Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor for a bit.

After Mariah picks Dominic up, she’ll talk about being a mess and how it’s hard for her to let go. Mariah will know this has been hard on everyone around her as well – including Tessa.

After Mariah says she’ll let Dominic in on a secret, she’ll admit she got scared while Tessa was in Italy that they weren’t on the same page about their future. Mariah will suggest she’ll let Dominic in on another secret since she’s still scared.

Once Mariah decides she’s overstayed her welcome, she’ll thank “Bowie” for the talk since it was almost like old times. Mariah will start to leave, but she’ll end up walking back over to Dominic’s bassinet and extending the visit even further.

At Society, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will arrive right as Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) talks her chef out of quitting for another job.

Abby will be wary of changing Lola Rosales’ (Sasha Calle) menu since everyone loves it, but she’ll agree Lola’s replacement deserves to make some adjustments and put her own imprint on the restaurant.

Devon will praise Abby for handling that like a pro, but Abby will point out that she thought she’d be in this together with Lola.

Abby will think it’s a reminder that there are no guarantees in life and will open up about her Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz) struggles as well.

Abby will confess that she sometimes wakes up crying and calling out Chance’s name. She won’t know how much more of this she can stand, but Devon will assure Abby that she has every right to be frustrated.

Devon will think the important thing is to keep pushing ahead for Dominic’s sake and remember she can lean on her loved ones – like Devon.

Back at The Grand Phoenix, Adam will take a call from Chelsea as he’s entering the lobby.

Adam will admit that he couldn’t get in touch with Chelsea, so he had to let the teacher know he wanted Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) in an accelerated math program.

Chelsea will object since Adam responded to the email without her approval, but he won’t see what the big deal is since she agrees Connor belongs in an accelerated math program.

Adam will insist he’s not blaming Chelsea for not being there, but tension will remain as he disconnects upon Devon’s arrival.

After Adam alludes to Chelsea feeling pushed aside, Devon will think that’s understandable. He’ll also be impressed with the way Adam steps up for his son since a father being in a child’s life is half the battle.

Talk will turn to the family disagreement with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), so Devon will wonder if that’s going to cause issues between Newman Media and New Hope.

Adam will hope it doesn’t come to that before getting down to business with Devon.

As their meeting concludes, Devon will urge Adam to call Chelsea back and smooth things over. He won’t think it’s wise to let the issue fester and will remind Adam that Chelsea’s thousands of miles away missing Connor every day.

Devon will think Adam should take the high road and make this right.

Adam will then call Chelsea to apologize, but there’ll be more tension when he asks when she’ll be able to come back to Genoa City. Chelsea will disconnect as the conflict escalates once again, so Sally will ask if everything’s all right when she walks in.

“The mother of my son just hung up on me. Besides that, I am fine,” Adam will suggest. Sally will wonder if Adam’s sure, but he’ll reiterate that he’s fine and will be rather short with her.

Adam will push Sally to just tell him what she wants, but he’ll eventually apologize and push Sally to sit at the bar with him.

Sally will mention her earlier run-in with Lauren and confess that she needed a friendly ear. Adam will assure Sally that there’s no need to beat herself up since this is a competitive business.

Adam will manage to make Sally feel a bit better, so she’ll wish she could do the same for Adam.

Adam will insist a profitable, productive day will do the trick and will head off to his next meeting. That’ll leave Sally alone at the bar looking rather glum.

When Abby returns home, she’ll find Mariah reading Dominic a story. Once Mariah wraps it up, she’ll admit she didn’t hear Abby come in.

Abby will assure Mariah that she’s welcome anytime and won’t want there to be any weirdness between them.

After Mariah mentions bringing over some breast milk, Abby will admit that she talked to the paediatrician and got approval to make the switch to formula after this. She’ll hope that’s not a problem, but Mariah will look upset initially.

Nevertheless, Mariah will confess that she’s truly working through her issues and that she’s reached some big conclusions after self-reflection.

Once Devon arrives to check on Abby again, Mariah will assure them both that she’s genuinely in a better place.

Once Abby’s alone with Devon, she’ll insist he doesn’t have to hang around with her. Abby will think Devon and Mariah did a good job of lifting her spirits, but she’ll thank Devon before he goes.

After Abby sits by Dominic, she’ll wonder aloud where Chance is and when he’s coming home.

Back with Mariah, she’ll enter the suite and find that Tessa’s asleep. Mariah will also spot a gift box with a note about how much Tessa missed her in Tuscany.

A cute Italian teddy bear will be inside, so Mariah will chuckle over it before taking Tessa’s hand and gently waking her.

Mariah will sweetly thank Tessa for the present and apologize for not being home when Tessa got there.

Mariah will admit to doing a lot of thinking and making some important decisions, but she’ll insist there’ll be time for all that later. For now, Mariah will push Tessa to sleep since she’ll be so tired from the trip.
