The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, October 7, reveals that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will get a security footage tip involving Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones) – and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will want Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) to stop the wedding.
At the palazzo on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Ashland will admit he didn’t sleep well without Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) in bed with him. He’ll want to know where Victoria’s head is at – and more importantly, where her heart is at. Ashland will hope to find out whether this wedding is still happening, but Nikki and Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) arrival will interrupt.
After Victor and Nikki gush over Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) wedding to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Victoria will whisk her mom out to the terrace and explain the stolen inheritance story. Nikki will be upset over Ashland dropping another bomb and will fear there could be more secrets, but Victoria will truly believe this is the last of them.
Nikki will offer to get in touch with the wedding planner and have her cancel the whole event, but Victoria won’t want to do anything that might raise red flags. She’ll want to contain everything and protect the merger, but Nikki will complain about Victoria thinking like a CEO.
Victoria will insist this wedding has to happen, though she’ll be concerned about Billy causing problems. Since Victoria will be set on having the nuptials, Nikki will least hope Victoria changes her mind on Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) invitation.
Unfortunately, Victoria will still be upset over Nick digging up dirt. Nikki will circle back to Ashland and what Victoria feels in her heart, but Victoria will admit she doesn’t know.
Meanwhile, Victor will find out that Ashland came clean to Victoria and will respect him for it. Victor will mention how Billy’s stirring up more trouble. He’ll be concerned since they’ve lost track of Gaines, but he’ll vow not to let anything ruin Victoria’s big day.
Soon after, Victoria will return inside with Nikki. When Victoria suggests the terrace is the perfect backdrop for their vows, Ashland will seem surprised and grateful that the wedding is still happening. However, Ashland will look a bit pensive as they prepare to take a walk around the grounds.
In Genoa City, Billy will be appreciative of the forged letter story that Gaines told him offscreen. He’ll insist this is about protecting Victoria and will want proof that Gaines’ story is true.
Gaines will eventually pull out a copy of the original letter – the one Camilla Rhodes actually wrote. He’ll read it aloud to Billy and confirm that she wanted Ashland to make it on his own. Billy will point out that Gaines still hasn’t told him why this is personal, so Gaines will talk about how hard it was for him to impress his father. Ashland came along and did it with such ease.
Gaines knew something was wrong when Ashland inherited all that money, so he did some digging and found what he needed in the file. Since Gaines’ father was angry and ashamed, Gaines kept the secret until his dad died and then used it to blackmail Ashland for payments.
Nevertheless, Gaines won’t feel like those payments were enough. He’ll talk about how his father was a good man who played by the rules – that is until Ashland came along and manipulated him into committing this crime. Gaines will argue that it weighed on his father and sent him to an early grave.
Since Ashland seems to be running out of time himself, Gaines will want to blow up Ashland’s life while he’s still alive to suffer. Billy will note that Victoria needs to know the truth and then she can make whatever decision she wants. He’ll insist Gaines is coming to Italy with him since Victoria won’t believe it unless she hears it straight from the horse’s mouth.
At Crimson Lights, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will join Adam at his table before their flight. Adam will mention needing to tie up a loose end before they go – and moments later, the guy working for the Newmans will appear with updates on Jesse Gaines.
After Adam steps out on the patio with Victor’s employee, he’ll learn that Gaines was spotted on security footage entering Billy’s apartment building. Adam will get confirmation that both Billy and Gaines are still inside before declaring that he’ll take it from here.
When Adam rejoins Sally, he’ll remind her that this trip is a friendly favor, not a date. Sally will wonder if it could at least be the start of a beautiful friendship, but Adam will give her a firm no. That’ll leave Sally annoyed, but she’ll assure Adam that she understands what this trip is about.
Suddenly, Adam will get a phone notification and start ripping into Sally right as Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) arrives. He’ll explain that a famous fashion editor found out about Sally going to Tuscany and just got in touch with him for confirmation on the scoop Newman Media promised.
Adam will complain since the reason he’s going to the wedding is to look like he’s playing a committed role in his family. He’ll feel like Sally has made it look like a self-serving business trip instead, but Chloe will pipe up that she got excited and told a friend. She’ll act like gossip travels fast and will take the heat off Sally.
A frustrated Adam will worry about what’ll happen if Victoria doesn’t wear the new gown, but Sally will remain confident. After Adam warns no more leaks or gossip, he’ll add that he doesn’t want anything to take attention away from Victoria’s big day.
Once Adam leaves, Sally will thank Chloe for covering for her. Chloe will just want Sally to guard that dress with her life and go easy on the Adam flirting. She’ll wish Sally good luck and urge her to get Victoria “to say yes to the dress.”
After Adam shows up at Billy’s door, Gaines will rush to hide. Billy will open up and play dumb about Gaines when Adam says he’s looking for him. Once Adam barges in the apartment, he’ll warn Billy that he’s not going to Tuscany. He’ll add that Billy’s not getting anywhere near Victoria’s wedding, but Billy won’t look intimidated.
Back at the palazzo, Victor will have a private conversation with Victoria and wonder how she feels about everything Ashland told her. Victoria will admit it’s been a lot to process.
As for the topic of Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Victor will wish Victoria hadn’t uninvited her brother to the wedding. Victoria will argue that Nick will have to earn her forgiveness for his betrayal.
Victoria will also express her gratitude to Victor for paying off Gaines and protecting the company, but Victor will argue that his daughter’s happiness is what really matters. Despite all the chaos that’s gone down, Victoria will assure Victor that she has every intention of proceeding with the wedding.
Over with Nikki, she’ll tell Ashland that she has serious doubts that Victoria should go through with the ceremony. Although Victoria will think it’s the right thing to do for practical reasons, Nikki will rant about her daughter getting hurt – just like Nikki predicted would happen. When Nikki appeals to Ashland, he’ll wonder if she’s asking him to call things off.
“Yes, if you truly care about her, give her that gift. Relieve her of this burden,” Nikki will insist.
