The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 24, reveals that Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) older mystery woman from the past will become a new lead for Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will also thank “hero” Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) when he provides a new lead of his own.
At Crimson Lights on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) will assure Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) that she’s feeling stronger and more optimistic about school this year.
Talk will eventually turn to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), so Faith will point out she hasn’t really been in touch other than some sporadic texts.
Sharon will act like Mariah just needed some time for herself and will suggest she’s sure Faith’s sister will be back soon. Once Faith leaves, Sharon will tell Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) that she doesn’t know how long she can keep doing this.
Sharon will hate leaving Faith in the dark, but Rey will remind Sharon that it’s best not to worry Faith until they learn more.
At the Chancellor mansion, Stitch will recognize a brand of protein bar that Abby pulls out of her purse. He’ll think he has a lead, so Abby will ultimately summon Sharon and Rey to the house.
Stitch will tell everyone about stopping at a convenience store when he left for Iowa last time.
Stitch will insist he remembers a guy buying a whole bunch of the same bars – like he was stocking up for the long haul.
Stitch will admit the man was older and didn’t give off an expectant dad vibe. He’ll note that he had gray hair and was of average height.
Stitch will also think the guy was wearing a button-down, but Rey will think all of this feels a little thin to be considered a true lead.
However, Abby will pressure Stitch to recall any other details that might help.
Stitch will suggest that the guy had a shopping list with storks carrying babies in their pouches, but he’ll assume that isn’t important.
Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will get Stitch to confirm that the paper was yellow, so she’ll realize it was from the same notepad she gave Mariah – the one Mariah took everywhere in her purse.
Abby will feel like this has to be more than a coincidence and will be so grateful Stitch remembered.
“You’re a hero!” Abby will exclaim – though Stitch will insist they shouldn’t get ahead of themselves.
In the room she’s trapped in, Mariah will tell Bowie that if that door opens even a crack, she’ll bolt out of it so fast her captor will never see it coming.
After Mariah munches on a protein bar, she’ll get back to aerobics before she feels a twinge.
Mariah will end up battling more pain as she blurts out that this can’t be contractions. She’ll fret over it being too soon as she sits down and struggles to cope.
At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) place, he’ll get a visit from Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) before Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) joins them.
Moses will worry about his mom making him go back to New York since he’s not pursuing medicine anymore, but Devon will offer to call and smooth things over.
Afterward, Devon will show up at the Chancellor mansion, where Abby will admit she finally has hope.
Devon will get updates on Stitch’s lead and will admit that Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) hasn’t been able to get a message to Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz) just yet.
Abby will think it’d be a dream come true to have Mariah home and safe along with the baby before Chance returns.
Over the phone, Rey will tell someone that they need to see about the convenience store’s security footage system. He’ll also want eyes on the place and will insist they should be on the lookout for an older man buying supplies a pregnant woman might need.
At ChancComm, Billy will suggest that if he doesn’t find any dirt on Ashland, then Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will be none the wiser. No harm, no foul.
If Billy does come with something, then Victoria will either be angry or relieved she dodged a bullet.
Billy will suggest Victoria might be in his debt forever, but Lily will think he should “dream on!”
At the coffeehouse again, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will find Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) looking exhausted.
Elena will talk about being good at her job and in demand for extra shifts at the hospital, but she’ll put on a brave face and act like she’s going to be fine.
After Billy leaves ChancComm, Nate will show up to notify Lily that he’ll have to leave Ask MD Now since his promotion takes up too much of his time.
However, Nate will suggest Elena might be a good replacement as the face of the brand.
At the Abbott mansion, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will distract Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) with the new novel she’s working on, which will be a fictional account of Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) early days in Paris.
Jack will only intend to read the first five pages, but he’ll get so caught up in it that he doesn’t even notice it’s time for lunch.
After Jack wipes away a happy tear and thanks Traci for the spirit lift, they’ll share a meal at Society. That’s where Billy will show up and talk to Jack while Traci’s off speaking with an old friend near the bar.
Billy will admit to working on a new story involving Ashland’s life and background, which will concern Jack.
“Oh, good. That will end well,” Jack will say sarcastically. Billy won’t see what’s wrong with a little investigation, but Jack will remain uneasy as he fills Traci in upon her return to the table.
When Jack wonders if Billy’s fears are about Victoria marrying someone with a terminal illness or about Ashland himself, Billy won’t see why it can’t be both.
After Traci returns to the Abbott mansion with Jack, she’ll sense that he’s feeling blue again.
Jack will gently push Traci to focus on her fabulous book and worry about Billy if she’s looking for someone to worry about.
When Billy returns to the office, he’ll tell Lily that one of his reporters found out Ashland was involved with an older woman back in the day. Ashland was in his 20s while this woman was “north of that” and very wealthy.
Billy will believe there’s something to this tidbit and will intend to find out whatever else there is to uncover.
In the park, Faith will give Moses a pop quiz that tests him on the important dates of their time together so far.
Moses will get almost every question right and will share some nice moments with Faith, who’ll be on the same page about what’s going on between them.
After Moses says he’d like to take Faith on a real date, she’ll insist she’d love that.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say love will keep blooming for Faith and Moses, but stay tuned to see when their first major obstacle will hit.
