The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, December 14, reveals that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will have a mysterious surprise while Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) faces a new-and-improved Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) in person. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will also shock Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle), so here’s what viewers can expect.
At home, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will once again wish Billy would reconsider working with her at Chancellor Industries.
Although Billy will admit part of him wants to get in the trenches with Lily, he’ll be focused on his plan for Adam and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
In Adam’s office, he’ll smile over a message he receives on his tablet.
Once Victor arrives, Adam will admit an anonymous source sent him some unsolicited candid footage. After Victor checks out the video from the bar, he won’t be surprised since Billy always falls into this same old pattern.
Victor will feel like this is only the beginning of Billy’s downward spiral and will mention that Victoria wants to send the kids to boarding school.
As for that anonymous footage, Victor will point out that Adam needs to be careful since the last thing they need is another greedy blackmailer like Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones).
After Victor takes off, Adam will text back about that video being interesting info. He’ll ask who the sender is and what they want, but the person will only want to help. Y&R spoilers say that’ll bring another smile to Adam’s face.
As Victoria walks in her office, she’ll overhear Ashland telling someone to handle something with the utmost discretion.
When Ashland realizes Victoria is there, he’ll get why she might have concerns – especially since he previously lied about buying her a wedding gift when he was actually arranging payments to Gaines.
Victoria will assure Ashland that she trusts him, but she’ll still be curious about what’s going on. After Ashland admits it’s truly a present this time, he’ll stay tight-lipped on any other details to preserve the surprise.
Ashland will also acknowledge that he’s having a day he hasn’t had in quite a while – one where he’s feeling happy and strong. He’ll feel like he owes it all to Victoria and his new treatment.
Victoria will mention that she still needs to tell Billy about her boarding school plans for the kids. She’ll feel certain Billy’s going to be blindsided and react negatively.
Once Victoria takes off, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will stop by and get some good news from Ashland. Nate will be excited to hear Ashland’s cancer hasn’t spread and will suggest a double date night with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) as well as Victoria.
At Crimson Lights, Billy will notice someone who appears to be the same wig-wearing mystery woman from before. She’ll arrive after Billy and slide in a booth before Victoria appears.
Victoria will take this opportunity to drop the bomb about sending the kids to boarding school. She’ll expect Billy to fly into a rage, but he’ll surprise her by agreeing it’s the right call.
Even so, Billy will make it clear that this doesn’t mean things are copacetic between them. He’ll point out that Victoria was part of the trap the Newmans set for him and will insist he thought she was better than that.
After Victoria joins Ashland, Nate and Elena at Society, they’ll discuss Christmas plans and have a fun evening together. Once Victoria’s alone with Ashland, he’ll mention that he could tell something was bothering her.
Victoria will admit things “went weird” with Billy earlier since he didn’t put up a fight after her unilateral decision. She’ll think their discussion was profoundly disconcerting and will have concerns about what’s really going on with Billy.
At home, Billy will call the kids’ new headmaster to touch base and get reassurance that they’ll be protected from any media coverage about their families.
Meanwhile, Elena will grab her hospital badge from her apartment while Nate grabs them some coffees at Crimson Lights.
Nate will point out that if they lived together, he could remind her about her badge before they ever went out the door. It’ll shock Elena when she realizes Nate’s asking her to move in.
At Society, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will look up to find Chelsea standing by her table. “So tell me…what’d I miss?” Chelsea will ask with a smile. She’ll confirm that she’s back for more than just a visit and will hear about Adam’s latest war with Billy.
Chloe will push Chelsea to come to work at the fashion platform, but Chelsea will want to meet Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) in person before she agrees to anything. Chelsea will also point out that Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) is her priority and will be eager to see him.
At the ranch, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will be cordial with Chelsea before asking how she’s feeling emotionally.
Chelsea will assure Nikki that she completed her therapy and that all restrictions were lifted in court. She’ll insist she’s feeling centered and that being away from certain people in Genoa City helped with her healing process.
Nikki will seem worried about Chelsea’s intentions now that she’s back, but Chelsea will contend that she just wants to reconnect with Connor and spend as much time with him as possible.
When Nikki asks if Chelsea has talked to Adam about this, Chelsea will seem irritated. She’ll declare that what she discusses with Adam is her private business – though she’ll admit there’s a great deal to discuss.
That’s when Adam and Victor will show up thanks to the guard alerting Victor to Chelsea’s arrival.
Chelsea will promise she comes in peace before speaking with Adam privately. She’ll talk about her excitement over spending the holidays with Connor and will add that she tried to tell Adam she was coming home.
Adam will be sorry for not making time for Chelsea and will think it’s different seeing her in person now. He’ll note that Chelsea looks happy and confident, so Chelsea will confirm that she’s all those things and more.
Chelsea will know it’s going to take time to convince Adam, but she’ll insist she’s just glad to be back for now. Adam will admit he’s glad Chelsea’s back, too.
At the coffeehouse again, Chloe will run into Lily and assume Billy’s swearing vengeance on his enemies as usual by now. Chloe will reflect on how she was able to find a way forward and get over her Adam grudge, but she’ll worry Billy may not be able to.
Nevertheless, Chloe will truly hope things will be different this time because of Lily.
Chloe will just want to warn Lily against blind faith since Billy tends to make people believe he’s got everything under control until it all falls apart. Although Lily will insist those days are behind Billy, she’ll seem concerned once she’s alone.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Billy could be playing a dangerous game, so stay tuned to see what else is in store.
