The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Tuesday, October 5, teases that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will gear up for a dirty money confession while Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) panics over a baby crisis. Here’s what Y&R viewers can look forward to.
In Tuscany, Ashland and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will land after their overnight flight.
Victoria will count on Ashland to keep his promise to tell her everything she wants to know – starting with the truth about Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones).
Of course, fans will recall that Gaines took over his father’s legal practice before his law license was revoked due to malfeasance.
However, it’s what old man Gaines did in his younger years that’s most important.
Jesse Gaines Sr. was likely the lawyer who drew up Camilla Rhodes’ will – and then the lawyer who changed it so Ashland would inherit everything.
Ashland probably gave Gaines Sr. a cut of Camilla’s fortune in exchange, but his son must’ve seen a lucrative opportunity after his father passed away.
It seems that’s how Ashland wound up paying $300,000 yearly until Gaines showed up in town demanding a $3 million lump sum in cash.
Victor Newman (Eric Braden) waved his magic wand and took care of that for Ashland, but he’ll have to spill everything to Victoria anyway.
Ashland will start by alluding to the crime that allowed him to make all his money. It all began with stealing Camilla Rhodes’ fortune to buy those two news stations.
Ashland wouldn’t be a millionaire today if it hadn’t been for that underhanded move, so Victoria will reel over how his empire came to be.
Tuesday’s show will kick off the confrontation, but Wednesday, October 6, will be when Victoria’s fury really heats up.
In the meantime, Mariah will be sick with worry over Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor. It appears Mariah will find out about Dominic’s battle with the sniffles and decide it’s the end of the world.
Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will stay upbeat and point out that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) has it covered.
Abby has Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) along with a nanny to rely on, so Tessa will think Mariah can relax.
Unfortunately, Mariah will grow increasingly agitated as her maternal instincts kick into overdrive.
Mariah will blast Tessa for acting like she can just stop caring about Dominic, but she’ll no doubt apologize once she calms down. This is becoming a bit of a pattern for Mariah, who’s an emotional wreck right now.
Mariah might think she should skip the Tuscany wedding and stick around Genoa City for Dominic’s sake.
That’s not appropriate since Mariah’s been trying to keep her distance – and it’s really not necessary either since Dominic’s going to be just fine.
Over with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), he’ll feel the need to keep an eye on scheming Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
Billy will be closing in on the truth about Camilla Rhodes’ will, so Adam will sense something big might happen.
Adam will monitor Billy’s activities and want to protect Victoria’s nuptials since she was kind enough to invite him.
Adam wants to repair his relationship with Victoria as much as he can – and that starts with caring about her happiness.
Victoria’s wedding will definitely be in jeopardy as Billy works on uncovering the real story and blowing things up. There may not be much Adam can do about that!
