The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Tuesday, September 7 Recap – Mariah’s Explosion – Bad Chance News – Rey Blasts Adam

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 7, reveals that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will have an explosive outburst as Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) sympathy fails. There’ll also be some bad Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz) news, so let’s look at what Y&R has in store.

At Crimson Lights, Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will try to ask Mariah about her drink order, but Mariah will be fixated on a nearby mom with a baby in a stroller.

Once Mariah sits down with Sharon and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), she’ll claim she just spaced out for a bit.

Sharon will think there’s more to the story, so Mariah will eventually admit she’s struggling to get on top of her emotions.

Mariah will talk about all the promises she made “Bowie” before ultimately correcting herself and calling him Dominic. Mariah will confess that it was difficult handing Dominic over to his true mother.

Sharon will think Mariah’s going to have a lifelong bond with Dominic and will suggest that she can use “Bowie” as a special nickname once he’s older.

Sharon will reassure Mariah that her feelings of attachment are perfectly natural, but she’ll think it’s important to go to Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and open up about this bond with the baby.

At the Chancellor mansion, Abby will fret over Mariah having a hard time – and not just because of the kidnapping ordeal.

Abby will sense that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) seems to be having a hard time as well, so she’ll give him a gentle nudge to confide in her.

However, Devon will claim he’s just trying to figure out the best way to support Abby, who’s in uncharted territory as a new mom and going through this without Chance by her side.

Devon won’t want to be a burden, but he won’t want to leave Abby hanging either.

Abby will assure Devon that he could never be a burden and will point out that she can tell him things she can’t tell Mariah, Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) or even Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson).

Mariah will call Devon her best friend and won’t want him to start hiding things because he thinks she’s overwhelmed.

“Open and honest. It’s a deal,” Devon will say. Talk will turn back to Mariah, so Abby will mention how hard it must’ve been for Mariah to hand the baby over after going through what she went through.

Devon will think Abby should sit down with Mariah and encourage her to open up.

After Devon takes a call from Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell), he’ll admit she hasn’t been able to get any messages to Chance since he was forced to go even deeper undercover.

Abby will gripe about how Chance deserves to know he has a son and that baby upstairs deserves to meet his father. She’ll insist she’s trying to be patient, but she’ll get choked up as she insists this is “so damn hard.”

Devon will think maybe it’s for the best that Chance doesn’t know Dominic was born since it might distract him from an already dangerous case.

Devon will suggest perhaps it’s good that they’re not making Chance feel any guiltier than he already feels about being away. Abby will see Devon’s point and contend that he always knows the right thing to say.

At the park, Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) will plan to brainstorm some first date ideas while Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) heads off to reunite with Mariah following her kidnapping crisis.

Once Faith arrives at the coffeehouse, she’ll quiz Mariah about what happened since she was kept out of the loop on most of the details.

Mariah will promise to do a girls’ night with Faith soon and explain everything – just not right now since it’s all too fresh.

Faith will understand and won’t think Mariah should feel pressured to move past her ordeal too quickly.

Faith will urge Mariah to focus on the people who love her right now, so Mariah will comment on how solid Faith seems now and will wonder if this has anything to do with Moses.

In Adam’s office, he’ll ask what Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) is there to try and arrest him for this time.

Rey will mention running into Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) in the park recently and noticing that he dropped his baseball cap.

After Rey returns it, Adam will mention Mariah’s kidnapping drama and how he had no idea things had gone so far off the rails.

Rey will scoff about Adam thinking he was part of the inner circle, but Adam will insist that he cares – prompting Rey to wonder if Adam cares about Mariah or Sharon.

Adam will suggest that’s the longest conversation they’ve ever had without Sharon’s name coming up. “Sure was nice while it lasted, Rey! But your jealousy is constant,” Adam will declare.

Adam will point out that Abby’s baby is his nephew and will feel like it’s reasonable for him to care about the people Sharon cares about.

Rey will urge Adam to stop worrying about Sharon’s daughter and worry about his own son instead. He’ll insist he could tell something was off with Connor when he saw him at the park.

Since Adam is there in Genoa City and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) is out of state, Rey will note that can get confusing for a kid.

Adam will argue that his family situation is under control and will push Rey to get out of his office.

Before Rey goes, he’ll acknowledge that Connor’s wondering when he’s going to be a family with his parents again.

Rey will urge Adam to get a handle on things and make that his focus instead of fixating on Sharon’s life.

When Faith meets back up with Moses, she’ll find him with Devon. They’ll all be hopeful about Moses’ mom agreeing to let him stay in GC – though it’ll be up to Moses to really sell her on the idea.

Once Devon leaves, Faith will get Moses to rehearse his phone call and will play the role of his mom so he can practice.

Moses will gush about this great girl he met being part of the reason he wants to stay and will impress Faith with the rest of his pitch.

Back at Crimson Lights, Mariah will feel guilty about Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) canceling a gig to spend more time with her.

Sharon will think Mariah might have to cut them all some slack since they’re feeling clingy and blaming themselves for what happened, but Mariah will reiterate that she doesn’t blame any of them at all.

As for Faith, Mariah will point out that she’s growing up and tougher than she looks. When Adam walks in and expresses that he’s relieved Mariah’s OK, she’ll snap about how she’s tense around people like him right now.

Mariah will insist she was just freed from the clutches of a madman who kidnapped her without a care for the life of an unborn baby – all because he wanted to win back a certain woman and get her to like him again!

Adam will apologize since he was just trying to offer sympathy, and Sharon will agree he wouldn’t do anything to intentionally make Mariah uncomfortable.

After Adam promises not to interrupt anymore and heads over to the front counter, Mariah will insist Sharon doesn’t always have to take his side.

Sharon will counter that Adam’s trying to change, but it makes it harder when no one will let him. “Point taken,” an annoyed Mariah will reply.

Tessa will admit she couldn’t get out of the gig she was trying to cancel, so Mariah will think that’s good since she really just needs to get home and pump for the baby.

As for Sharon, she’ll mention to Adam that she thought he was going to keep his distance. Adam will reveal that he was going to ask for advice about Connor, but he’ll see now that it was a mistake and that he should’ve kept on walking.

Later, Rey will get updates on Mariah’s hostile reaction to Adam along with Adam’s attempt to seek advice about Connor.

Rey won’t be surprised that after he mentioned his concerns about Connor, Adam ran right over to try and rope Sharon into it.

Sharon will admit she believes Adam when he says he wants to become a better person. She just won’t know if Adam has the skill set yet.

At the park again, Devon will run into Mariah and Tessa. He’ll offer a shoulder to cry on if Mariah ever needs one, but Mariah will put on a brave face.

When Mariah returns home, she’ll find Dominic in his bassinet and will talk about how much she missed him. Abby will look concerned when she finds Mariah crouched down humming to Dominic.

Meanwhile, Devon will gaze at some framed family photos with Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) before flashing back to Dominic’s birth. He’ll seem emotionally affected over the memory as he continues to struggle.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Devon and Mariah both have some complex feelings to sort out, so don’t miss what’s ahead.
