The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Friday, February 26, reveals that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) runs into Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) at Society. Nick mentions how Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) has decided to live with him for now.
Rey admits he’s going to talk things over with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) later. Rey just wanted to stop by and get Lola Rosales’ (Sasha Calle) take first.
Nick admits he also wanted to talk to Lola about the pic of Sharon and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) kissing. Nick’s hoping Lola or someone on staff might know something that could help him figure out who’s behind it.
Although Nick isn’t Lola, he’s happy to listen if Rey wants. Rey wonders if Nick really thinks he can work through this with Sharon or if he’s just kidding himself.
Nick thinks Rey can convince Sharon to walk away from Adam. Rey isn’t as much of a hothead and doesn’t have the same baggage Nick has. Although Nick couldn’t get through to Sharon in the past, he has faith in Rey.
Nick suggests that if Rey can’t help Sharon put an end to this thing with Adam, then he’s afraid no one can.
At Crimson Lights, Sharon texts Rey about looking forward to seeing him later. She hopes they can talk things out, but she looks pensive about their upcoming conversation.
Meanwhile, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) asks how Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is at The Grand Phoenix. “Busy, thank you for asking,” Phyllis says with a smirk.
Sally’s hoping to get a bigger suite, but there still aren’t any available. Phyllis thinks Sally should be patient and focus on work, so Sally admits work is important.
As Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) appears, Sally purrs that sometimes other things need to take precedence. Phyllis realizes Jack is there to take Sally somewhere and looks annoyed about it.
Sally says she’s getting a new car since her old one gave out in this cold weather. Jack’s going to take Sally to the dealership and is eager to help her drive around in style. “It’s very, very sweet of you Jack,” Phyllis says.
As Jack walks out with Sally, she gushes about how there’s nothing like a new car smell. Sally will savor every second of her first ride in her “new baby.”
At Adam’s penthouse, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) arrives at the door. Adam tries to get rid of Chloe, but she insists on coming in and catching up with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan).
Chloe promises she won’t tire Chelsea out and only intends to cheer Chelsea up. Chloe also mentions that she just got back in town following a romantic trip with Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart).
Adam reluctantly agrees to give them some privacy, and Chelsea starts crying right after he leaves the room. Chloe wonders what’s wrong. “You’ve got to get me out of here.
I can’t stay here with Adam for one more second. He broke my heart, Chloe. He broke my heart,” Chelsea insists in her mind.
Chelsea shows Chloe her progress by moving her hand. Chloe thinks that’s amazing and wonders if she should get Adam, but Chelsea blinks no. Chloe suggests this is a huge breakthrough and doesn’t get why Chelsea wouldn’t want Adam to know about it.
Chloe then realizes something must’ve happened. “Sharon. Sharon happened. Again,” Chelsea says inside her head.
Back at the coffeehouse, Jack talks to Sharon about the pic of her kissing with Adam – though he insists he’s not judging her. Sharon feels like everyone else is, but Jack gets that there’s a complicated history.
Sharon argues that the photo was misleading. “Oh?” Jack asks, seemingly unconvinced. Sharon promises nothing’s going on with Adam – that it was just something he did in the moment. She assures Jack she intends to work things out with Rey.
After Sally joins Sharon and Jack, she hypes up her new car. Jack wants to buy them both coffee, so Sally lets him on the condition that she’ll treat next time.
Once Sally grabs them a seat on the patio, Sharon notes how close Jack and Sally seem. Jack’s a bit bashful as he guesses they are. Once Jack rejoins Sally at their table, they talk about their plan to take a drive through the countryside.
Jack will give the California girl a winter driving lesson. He talks about a quaint bed and breakfast they can go to that serves the best French toast.
Sally suggests that’ll be their second date since last night was the first and this is just a “hang.” Jack teases Sally about logging and categorizing their interactions. Sally insists there’s no one in Genoa City as handsome and charming as Jack, so “hell yes” she wants to call these dates and hopes there’ll be more.
Jack pauses, so Sally worries that’s not where his head is at. She backtracks and suggests Jack doesn’t have to date her. Sally talks about her quirks and could see how she’d be unappealing, but Jack promises he likes spending time with her. They establish that they’ll keep things casual and see where it leads.
Jack had fun today – and that was his new year’s resolution: have more fun. Jack looks forward to his next outing with Sally, even if it isn’t a date. Judging from the look on Jack’s face, he’s already falling hard!
Nick returns to The Grand Phoenix and learns from Phyllis that Faith isn’t done with her spa day yet. Talk eventually turns to Sally, so Phyllis insists she doesn’t get it.
Jack can’t see what Sally’s doing, but Phyllis thinks it’s “pathetic.” Phyllis wonders why Jack can’t see what she sees.
Nick has a question of his own and asks why Phyllis cares so much. Phyllis argues that Sally has moved on from being a pain in Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) butt to focus on Jack.
Nick thinks Jack can take care of himself. “He’s so sad and lonely and vulnerable and his mom just died! We have to help him,” Phyllis protests.
Phyllis notes that she doesn’t want to see Jack get hurt. She thinks Nick should feel the same way, but he counters that “Jack’s a big boy.” Nick believes they should just stay out of it.
At the cottage, Rey talks to Sharon about Adam being a master manipulator – particularly when it comes to Sharon. Rey notes that one might call what Adam did assault, so Sharon could press charges if she wanted. Sharon insists that’s not what she wants.
After Sharon admits Adam came by to see her, Rey’s upset about him barging into their home again. Sharon promises she shut the whole thing down quickly. “I’m sure that worked,” Rey says sarcastically.
Sharon’s glad Rey didn’t make an arrest since that would’ve been overreaction and would’ve antagonized Adam. Although Rey was tempted to send a message, he acknowledges that it wouldn’t have solved the larger problem.
Even when Adam isn’t around, he’s still present in Rey and Sharon’s marriage.
Rey will do his part to make sure they come out of this stronger, so Sharon says she’ll do whatever it takes. Rey wants couples therapy so they can get to the heart of the matter – the real reason Sharon hasn’t been able to let go of Adam all this time.
Although Rey doesn’t doubt Sharon’s love or that she wants this marriage to work, he thinks Adam is inside her head. It’s like Adam is part of Sharon’s psyche.
Rey argues that Adam represents something she’s addicted to – a darker, more reckless side and a surge of adrenaline that’s not part of her everyday life.
Rey feels like that’s why Sharon’s drawn to Adam over and over again, even when it’s unhealthy for her and those around her. Sharon protests that she may have had tendencies years ago, but she’s worked hard to be the person she is today.
Rey counters that Sharon loses all sense of reason whenever Adam is around.
Rey wants to be realistic and notes that he studied the photo of that kiss as if it were a crime scene. Adam initiated the kiss, but Sharon didn’t stop him or resist. Her hands were on Adam’s shoulders not his chest.
Sharon wasn’t pushing Adam away – at least not for that brief moment that was captured.
Rey thinks the evidence suggests Sharon gave into the kiss, but she says he couldn’t be more wrong. Rey keeps at it and adds that it was a significant moment between Sharon and Adam – one with real connection and feeling.
Sharon’s frustrated over Rey’s painful accusations and feels he’s not listening to her. She rants about how Rey’s like she needs professional help for some sort of “Adam-induced psychosis.” Sharon wonders how Rey could possibly think any of what he’s saying will help them.
Once Sharon calms down, she knows there are serious issues to resolve. Sharon thinks Rey should listen and reevaluate. She feels they’re perfectly capable of working out their problems on their own.
Rey says he’s coming from a place of love. He strongly believes the support of an objective third party will help.
However, Rey admits he can perhaps accept it if Sharon isn’t up for that. Regardless, Rey notes that Sharon’s dynamic with Adam is real obstacle for him and for them. He’s searching for a way to overcome it together.
Back at the penthouse on Friday’s Young and the Restless episode, Chloe starts asking Chelsea questions. She worries Chelsea feels like she’s in physical danger – like Adam could harm her in some way.
Chloe’s relieved when the answer is no. She keeps trying to get to the bottom of Chelsea’s problem, but Adam returns.
Chloe lies about showing Chelsea trip photos and says this visit has been exactly what they both need. Chloe will be there for Chelsea no matter what. Adam nudges Chloe to leave, but she promises she’ll be back real soon.
In the hall, Chloe texts Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) that she thinks Chelsea needs help. Back inside, Adam says that was nice of Chloe to stop by. He’ll let the nurse know Chelsea’s ready to get some sleep. Once she’s alone, Chelsea clenches her fist tightly.
Jack’s still sitting on the patio of Crimson Lights on a phone call with Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) later. He admits this was the best day he’s had in ages.
On Friday’s Y&R episode, Nick gives Sally a two-finger wave when he sees her at The Grand Phoenix. “Heeeeey, can I assist you?” Phyllis asks once she appears.
Sally says she’ll checking out since there are no bigger suites available and the wait seems to be indefinite. She’ll be giving her business to the athletic club instead.
Phyllis magically finds an open suite and arranges for Sally to be moved to a bigger room. After Sally goes upstairs, Nick assumes Phyllis decided to play nice. Phyllis insists she just needs to keep Sally under her roof so she’ll always know what Sally’s up to.
