The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Friday, January 15 – Lola’s Pregnancy Scare Reminder – Mariah & Tessa Talk Having Kids

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Friday, January 15, teases that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) are set to do a little more bonding.

At Crimson Lights, Sally talks to Jack about the cold weather in Genoa City, which is nothing like in Los Angeles. Sally uses that to bring up Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) trip, so Jack wonders if there’s a reason why Sally seems uncomfortable about the Spencer meeting.

Sally tries to deny it, but Jack says he’s not trying to probe her personal life. However, the working dynamic between Sally and Summer is important to him. Does Jack still have a reason to be worried? Sally finally relents and admits there’s something Jack should know.

Sally confesses that she left LA to get rid of some painful memories and some people there might have some “less than glowing things” to say about her. She’s worried that Summer will return with even more concerns about her and doesn’t want to blow her fresh start.

“These stories about you…how bad are they?” Jack asks.

Sally insists she’s never had bad intentions, but some of the things she’s done can definitely be seen in a negative light. However, Sally doesn’t want anyone she works with to think less of her. Jack pushes Sally to give Summer a chance and downplays the idea that more drama will result from this trip.

Moments later, Lauren appears with some updates for Sally and thinks Jack might want to hear them, too. Fenmore’s acquired Jabot’s clothing line when the acquired JCV, so Lauren’s got a special project for Sally.

Lauren could use some design marketing strategies for the new season, so an excited Sally dashes off to get started.

Once Lauren’s alone with Jack, she admits she has a few motives. Lauren wants to see what Sally comes up with, but she also hopes to see what Sally’s capable of when she really focuses on her talent. However, Lauren mainly hopes this will distract Sally from worrying about JCV and Summer.

In LA, Kyle and Summer take some “Hollywood closeups” by snapping pics of each other on their phones. Summer talks about her upcoming Spencer Publications meeting and notes that the agenda is twofold.

Summer wants to make a killer advertising deal for JCV and find out more about Sally as well. If anybody knows what secrets Sally’s keeping, it’s her ex-boyfriend: Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks).

Wyatt eventually arrives at the Il Giardino restaurant, where Kyle and Summer are waiting. After Kyle leaves them to get started, Summer suggests she can’t tell Wyatt how much she’s looking forward to this. They make small talk before launching into a discussion about JCV and Spencer Publications.

Summer wants to reinvent the brand and create some excitement for the label. She hopes to do a new media launch as part of that. A revamped JCV would definitely be a hot commodity according to Wyatt.

Summer says before she forgets, Sally Spectra says hi. “Sally? How do you know Sally?” Wyatt asks with a quizzical look on his face.

Summer suggests she thought Wyatt would know Sally’s in Genoa City working as Lauren Baldwin’s (Tracey E. Bregman) executive assistant at Fenmore’s. “Wow, that’s a big step down from running Spectra Fashions and designing for Forrester,” Wyatt says. He’s surprised that Sally even accepted it.

Summer wonders why since Sally wanted to get her foot in the door. She praises Sally for seeming so hard-working and humble. “Eh,” Wyatt says with an uncomfortable chuckle.

“Humble isn’t exactly the first word that would come to mind when you say the name Sally Spectra.” Summer suggests she doesn’t know Sally all that well, but she’d like to know more since they’re on the same team.

After Summer talks up how charming Sally is, Wyatt suggests that he’s glad Sally is doing well and wishes her the best. Wyatt shifts gears and notes that he thinks his father, Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) will go for the idea of partnering up with JCV.

Once Summer reconvenes with Kyle, she insists that Wyatt clammed up but clearly knows something. Sally has a juicy secret that’s just waiting to be revealed.

Summer can tell there’s bad blood and thinks this is a great start to her fact-finding mission. She’s also really excited about the partnership with Spencer Publications.

Summer plans to hit the beach and a roadside taco stand with Kyle. They can take their time since they’re not leaving until they get the scoop on Sally Spectra.

Back in GC, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) snaps at someone on a business call. Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) wonders if something’s wrong and insists maid-of-honor rules still apply. She’s willing to lend a sympathetic ear, so Abby tells Mariah about the false pregnancy alarm.

Abby also talks about her upcoming procedure to determine if scarring from her previous miscarriage is the problem. If Abby gets bad news tomorrow, she doesn’t know what she’s going to do. Mariah gets distracted with her phone as she says she hears Abby.

“Do you?” Abby asks, seemingly offended that Mariah isn’t paying attention.

Afterward, Mariah apologizes for texting, but she hopes it pays off. “OK?” Abby says with a chuckle. Mariah heard everything Abby was saying and thinks she did the right thing by going to her doctor. Abby’s stuck on all the what ifs, but Mariah insists whatever the news is – Abby will tackle it head on.

Mariah doesn’t want Abby to overthink things and feels there’s no need to worry…at least until tomorrow. She once again apologizes for texting, but she thought Abby could use a distraction. “So, here she comes,” Mariah says. Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) struts in, so Abby laughs over the surprise arrival.

Tessa came running after getting the “bat signal” and brought the fun. Mariah puts on music and starts dancing wildly with Tessa. They tell Abby not to fight the insanity and just dance the jitters out, so she joins in before Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) emerges from the kitchen.

Lola is amused by the impromptu dance party and learns about Abby’s procedure, so she decides she’ll contribute something chocolate.

At the Grand Phoenix, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) spots Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), who’s there to meet a headhunter. “You can’t keep away from me. Can you, Victoria?” Phyllis asks.

She thinks Victoria’s upset that she lost their game, but Victoria disputes Phyllis’ win. Phyllis alludes to potentially having a few more moves.

Victoria taunts Phyllis about begging Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) for money, but she argues that she’s moved on. Phyllis hints that’s what Victoria does: just sweeps things under the rug. She wonders if Victoria’s meeting with the headhunter about hiring a new CFO for her Los Angeles subsidiary.

Victoria claims she has no idea what Phyllis is talking about and adds that her headhunter works out of Philadelphia. She doesn’t think Phyllis is making any sense. “Gaslighting doesn’t work on me, and being dumb doesn’t suit you,” Phyllis insists. Victoria invites Phyllis to say whatever she has to say.

Phyllis confesses she’s aware Victoria made her Los Angeles CFO resign after paying back what he embezzled so her daddy didn’t find out. “I would assume that the Newman throne you’re sitting on is in jeopardy,” Phyllis says.

She can see the wheels turning for Victoria, who wonders what Phyllis intends to do with the information.

Victoria guesses it’s a “prelude to blackmail” – or maybe Phyllis will tell Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Phyllis just wanted Victoria to know that she has this information and can always use it against Victoria if she gives her a reason.

After Victoria leaves for her meeting, Nick appears and pushes Phyllis to tell him what that was about. He can tell Phyllis is “lording something over” Victoria.

Phyllis eventually admits she could’ve blackmailed Victoria, but she took the high road. She’d not a saint though and wanted to rub it in. Phyllis adds that Victoria did something at Newman Enterprises and covered it up. She mentions how Victor is Victoria’s Achilles’ heel and he wouldn’t approve if he knew.

Nick realizes Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) must’ve supplied this information, so Phyllis admits that’s the case. Kevin convinced Phyllis not to pursue her blackmail angle.

Phyllis says she has too much to lose and it would’ve been fun poetic justice, but she can’t stoop that low. “That’s too bad,” Nick says. “I think I would’ve enjoyed watching you give Victoria a taste of her own medicine.”

Phyllis wonders if Nick would’ve been OK with her blackmailing his sister. Nick says “absolutely not,” but he wouldn’t have minded Victoria catching some heat from Victor. It scares Nick how much Victoria is emulating their father.

Phyllis is surprised since this doesn’t sound like Nick at all, but he feels like things changed now that he’s seen Victoria’s behavior. All that said, Nick’s proud of Phyllis and will take her upstairs to show her just how much.

At home, Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) gets a text from Jordan (Madison Thompson) asking if she wants to come over. Faith texts back that she can’t and reminds Jordan that they have to be careful. Her parents are suspicious since she was with Jordan after she got caught drinking two times.

Jordan jokes about Faith being lucky that she only got caught twice and promises to win Faith’s parents over.

Later on Friday’s Y&R episode, Faith calls Jordan and says it’d be great if she could convince Faith’s parents that Jordan’s like her “guardian angel or something.” Faith wants to let things calm down first, but she assures Jordan she still wants to hang out.

Back at Society, Abby thanks Mariah, Tessa and Lola after dessert. She had a blast, but she wants to get home to Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz). Once Abby returns to the Chancellor mansion, the place is filled with rose bouquets.

The card lets Abby know Chance will be a little late, but he promises everything will be fine tomorrow.

On Friday’s Young and the Restless episode, Abby fantasizes about holding her new baby in her arms. Daddy Chance is filming as Abby talks about this wonderful year and how things are perfect.

Next, Abby calls Chance to thank him for the flowers. “I think tomorrow’s going to be a wonderful day,” Abby insists.

At Society again, Lola’s hopeful that Abby will be able to get pregnant soon. Mariah feels that if anybody deserves to have a baby, it’s Abby and Chance. Mariah talks about how that child would be born with a feeling of security and love, so Tessa notes that’s something neither of them had growing up.

Lola wonders if Mariah and Tessa have ever thought about having kids. They stammer a bit and admit they aren’t sure why they’ve never discussed it. Neither Mariah nor Tessa is ready now, but they smile and agree maybe someday.

Mariah flips the question around on Lola, who admits her pregnancy scare with Kyle last year got her thinking about kids. Lola does want them eventually, but she doesn’t even have time to date now.

The restaurant is her baby. Lola says she’d better get back to the kitchen, but she pauses and looks a bit unsettled by the bar.

In LA once more, Wyatt calls back with good news about the meeting he set up. Summer apologizes if she opened up any old wounds regarding Sally, so Wyatt says not to worry about it.

Once Summer hangs up, she tells Kyle she’s one step closer to finding out why Sally fled Los Angeles for Genoa City.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Summer’s mission will bring some shockers, so stick with Y&R. CDL will have all the hot Young and the Restless spoilers, updates and news you need, so stop by regularly.
