The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Friday, March 5 – Kyle Crashes Sally & Jack’s Evening – Victoria’s Ashland Power Play

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Friday, March 5, teases that Summer Newman (Hunter King) is still doing her best to support Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and vows that she’s not going anywhere.

Summer wants to know what’s at the top of Kyle’s list of worries, so he admits Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) has become a concern since their latest run-in.

Kyle senses that Sally will retaliate if he tries to interfere in Sally and Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) relationship. Summer guesses they’ll just have to hope Jack sees the light on his own.

Kyle talks about wanting to protect his son, even if he doesn’t get to see him. It’s hard not to want to know more about Harrison Locke, but Kyle wonders if he can really risk ruining their lives for a chance to know his boy.

Summer says if she were in Kyle’s position, she would want advice from her parents. Summer encourages Kyle to pay Jack a visit and get his take.

Even if Kyle doesn’t admit the truth about his son, Summer feels like he can come clean about the affair and see if Jack knows how dangerous Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) is.

At the Abbott mansion, Sally has a drink with Jack after a lovely dinner together. Jack says it was outshone only by the guest who came to share it with him. The moment gets pretty intense, so Sally seems unsettled. “What is happening here?” Sally asks.

Jack insists it’s just after dinner conversation, but Sally suddenly felt like it got a little more than casual. That’s not how Jack meant for things to go, but he does want to know what makes Sally tick – what she wants out of life.

Sally says she wants it all, so Jack presses to find out what would make Sally truly happy.

Sally admits she’d like to run her own fashion house again someday. Jack wonders if all Sally’s dreams are about work, so she confesses she’d like to have the love of a good partner, too.

Sally would never let work get in the way of love – but then again, she’d never let her relationship get in the way of her career. Sally and Jack agree that she shouldn’t have to compromise.

Jack brings up Sally’s parents abandoning her, so she acknowledges that there was a void left behind that she hopes to fill eventually. “I have a strong feeling you’re going to get exactly what you want,” Jack says.

Sally notes that a lot of people think she doesn’t deserve it, but Jack says they’re wrong and adds “to hell with them.” Sally reflects on past mistakes, so Jack talks about how he was stubborn in the past, too. Now that Sally has learned some painful lessons, she’s hopeful for the first time in a long time.

Sally doesn’t want to jinx it, but she feels like she’s finally on the road to making her dreams come true. When Jack says he wants to help, Sally feels them dipping beyond casual territory again.

However, Jack feels he’s allowed to care about Sally a little. Sally says it feels like everything’s been leading her here to this moment with Jack.

Suddenly, Kyle walks in and scowls when he sees Jack with Sally. He notes that he needed to talk to Jack about something. “NOW?!” Jack says angrily. Sally insists it’s getting late and wants them to talk, but Jack tries to get her to stay.

After Sally leaves anyway, Jack tells Kyle this had better be good. Kyle wants to know what exactly he just interrupted.

At Chancellor Communications, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) talks to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) about an article in today’s business section on Cyaxares. Lily thought he put that behind him, but Billy can’t do that.

Billy worries about Victor coming after ChancComm and wants to convince Ashland Locke that they’re the right fit to buy his media company.

Lily points out just how deep Victor’s pockets are, but Billy has a plan to handle that. He gets Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) on a video chat, which leads to Billy being surprised by Jill’s revelation.

Jill mentions that she’s been talking to Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) about the surrogacy process.

Billy wants to talk business next, so Jill realizes he needs money. She wants to know what for, how much and whether Lily approves. Billy puts off the conversation until later, but he ultimately picks it back up in a suite.

On another video chat, Billy makes a pitch about acquiring Cyaxares and beating Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) at his own game.

At Newman Enterprises, Victor shows up in Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) office. Victoria guesses this is about bad news, but Victor thinks that depends on her reaction.

Victor admits to approaching Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) with a proposal pertaining to Ashland Locke’s media company. He wants to buy it and have Adam run it.

Victoria thinks Victor is so quick to forget the wounds of the past. She doesn’t get why Victor’s even telling her since he’s already decided, but Victor says he was wondering how upset Victoria would be.

Victoria wonders what’s in this for Adam, so Victor argues that his son is preoccupied with Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) condition and could use a distraction.

Victoria doesn’t think this visit is about a heads-up; it’s about getting her to cave. She assures Victor that the answer is still no. “You’re making a big mistake, sweetheart,” Victor says.

At the penthouse, Adam marvels over Chelsea appearing in the living room. He wonders how Chelsea got in there and asks if she’s regained strength in her arms. The nurse appears and admits she’s the one who wheeled Chelsea in, so Adam’s sorry about the mistake.

Adam assures Chelsea she’ll get there in her recovery soon. Chelsea thinks to herself that Adam’s right – and that when she does, she’ll be walking away from Adam as fast as she can.

Adam mentions something he wanted to run by Chelsea, but she’s not convinced she has a say in anything these days.

Even so, Adam talks about the media company that would be completely separate from Newman Enterprises. He admits Victor wants him to be in charge. After Adam updates Chelsea, she blinks once for yes that it’s OK.

Adam goes to meet Victor at Crimson Lights after taking his call, so that gives Chelsea some privacy. Chelsea feels like Adam’s only going along with Victor’s offer to be near Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) – and Chelsea’s not going to stand by and let that happen.

While Chelsea’s alone, she works hard to pull herself up out of her wheelchair and stands up on her own.

Back at the Abbott mansion, Jack says he doesn’t owe Kyle an explanation. What Jack does with Sally is none of Kyle’s business. Kyle feels it was a mistake to come, so Jack assumes Kyle’s worried he might spill whatever he shares to Sally.

Kyle insists he knows that he can confide in his father, but he’s decided he’s more than capable of handling this issue on his own. Jack says he’s there if Kyle changes his mind.

At The Grand Phoenix on Friday’s Y&R episode, Sally runs into Summer, who hopes Sally’s evening wasn’t interrupted. Sally says her evening was everything she hoped for and talks about feeling like she hit the jackpot.

The wins just keep coming for Sally lately. Summer notes that’s except for her job and Kyle! “Kyle is all yours,” Sally insists. “And I’m glad that you’re at the helm of JCV. Truly.”

Sally knows they got off to a bad start, but she meant it when she said she thought they might end up as friends. Sally needs someone to share her good fortune with.

Wouldn’t it be crazy if that person was Summer? Crazy is exactly the word Summer was thinking and doesn’t see how they could be friends at all.

Summer argues that they’re both holding grenades that could ruin each other – and they’re taking turns threatening to pull the pins. Sally thinks it proves how alike they actually are.

They’re both strong women who know what they want. “Could you imagine how powerful we could be if we ever teamed up?” Sally asks.

Summer recalls hearing about a rent a friend service in Japan, so she suggests Sally should give that a try. Sally thinks that’s a little harsh, but she likes that Summer says what she means. When Sally mentions having a sister who lives far away, the news surprises Summer.

Sally feels there’s a lot they don’t know about each other, but Summer feels she has plenty of friends and so does Kyle. Sally guesses that means Summer won’t be sharing a nightcap with her. Summer indeed declines, but she has to give Sally some points for persistence.

Victoria heads to Chancellor Communications and takes Lily up on the offer of a drink while she waits for Billy. Lily and Victoria talk about their kids before Lily discusses how great her partnership with Billy has been at ChancComm.

Victoria is sure they have a wonderful business relationship, but Lily insists it’s a wonderful relationship all around – meaning on the personal side of things, too.

“I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but you shouldn’t expect this to last,” Victoria admits. She feels restlessness is deeply embedded in Billy’s DNA. Victoria learned her lesson the hard way and feels Lily is destined for the same hard lesson.

Although Lily appreciates Victoria’s candor, she notes that Victoria isn’t going to scare her off. Lily calls Victoria out for finding ways to spend more time around Billy lately.

Lily thinks that maybe Victoria is drawn to Billy because he’s becoming the person Victoria wishes he could’ve been when they were together.

Victoria snaps that Lily might think she knows her, but she doesn’t. Victoria adds that Lily doesn’t know what she feels or thinks about Billy either. Lily suggests that’s her mistake and feels they’ve said what they had to say.

Lily fake smiles over being glad they cleared the air. The tension is thick in the room as Victoria says she’s glad, too.

At Crimson Lights, Adam tells Victor he’s been reading up on Cyaxares and is intrigued. However, Adam’s main concern is Chelsea and her recovery. Victor’s sure they can work it all out, but Adam wonders if they can really bury the past and focus on the future.

Victor feels certain that they can indeed work together.

When Billy returns to ChancComm on Friday’s Young and the Restless episode, he admits Jill gave him a hard no. Even so, Billy wants to pitch it to somebody else and asks if Lily’s up for this.

Lily looks at the glass Victoria left behind on the table – seemingly getting some added motivation. If Billy finds investor they can work with, Lily says she has to fight for what’s hers, too.

Meanwhile, Victoria’s back at her desk and gets on the phone with Ashland Locke. She mentions how Ashland has been in preliminary contact with Victor about the acquisition, but Victoria will be handling this from here on out.

Victoria understands there are several offers on the table, but she insists she’s prepared to beat all of them. While Victoria’s on the phone, she looks at a pic of herself with Victor.
