The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, April 19, reveals that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will defend his decision to send Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) a congratulatory bouquet of flowers.
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will hope Billy didn’t send red roses since they could give Victoria the wrong idea.
Billy will promise his flower choice was benign and insist it’s important to keep Victoria as an ally. He’ll act like the gesture isn’t really a big deal and will wonder if Lily honestly thinks Victoria’s going to make a move.
Considering Victoria’s history and who she is as a person, Lily wouldn’t put it past her!
Once Billy heads to The Grand Phoenix with Lily, they’ll do some flirting before Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) appears. Billy will assume Victor has been hiding Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) somewhere and will push Victor’s buttons about being an enabler.
Billy will rub it in that Victoria won Cyaxares, but Victor will fire back about ChancComm never even being a real contender. When Billy notes that Victoria isn’t going to weaponize Cyaxares like Victor wanted, Victor will suggest Billy shouldn’t be so certain.
Victor will make it clear that Adam’s going to get off the hook since the accusations against him are false and will talk about the truth coming out.
Victor will deliver a warning since the battle between them isn’t over. Lily will be annoyed by this whole situation and will wish Billy could just let it go. However, Billy will think it’s their duty to do another Adam article if Victor is harboring a fugitive.
Lily will be fed up with Billy’s Adam obsession, so she’ll suggest she’s only down for another story if Billy stays out of it.
At Crimson Lights, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will order up a couple of herbal teas as Victoria awaits word on the final purchase contract. Victoria will admit Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) might be playing games since there’s still no official news from him.
Nikki will compliment Victoria on the pretty yellow flower in her lapel, so she’ll confess she received a bouquet of flowers this morning. Nikki will assume Victor must’ve been trying to patch things up, but Victoria will gleefully admit the flowers came from Billy.
When Nikki guesses Billy wants to keep Victoria as an ally and stop her from using Cyaxares against ChancComm, Victoria will disagree. She’ll think Billy is just helping to celebrate her success and made a sweet gesture.
Victoria will receive a text from Ashland about meeting up to go over some final negotiations, so she’ll realize this is either a stall tactic or gamesmanship.
Nikki will feel like Victoria needs to be concerned about the way Ashland does business, but Victoria will be curious instead. She’ll wonder if Ashland treats everyone this way or if he’s working some particular angle with her.
Victoria will have a hunch that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is involved, so if Victor wants to play rough – then so be it!
At Society, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) will be gushing over handmade nursery furniture and baby clothes before Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) arrives.
Jack will think congratulations are in order since Abby’s going to be a mom. When a call comes in, Abby will be over the moon to see that it’s Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz).
After Abby rushes off to take the call, Jack will join Nina at her table. Nina will admit that although this time getting to know Abby has been great, the forced separation from Chance has been tough on Abby. Nina will recall seeing Jack’s son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), at Abby and Chance’s wedding.
Jack will point out that Kyle will soon have a wedding of his own – and Jack will hope this one sticks considering how many marriages Kyle’s old man had! He’ll note that Kyle and Summer Newman (Hunter King) will probably have kids soon after.
Jack will seem concerned about whether he’s prepared Kyle for the future, so Nina will offer reassurance.
At the Chancellor mansion, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will be in agony due to morning sickness, which has turned into an all-day event. Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will offer a variety of foods including saltines and yogurt, but Mariah will wonder if Tessa is trying to kill her!
After Mariah allows Tessa to bring her some ice chips, she’ll admit she somehow thought morning sickness would be sweet. That’s not the case, so Mariah will feel like this pregnancy suddenly seems very real.
Mariah will talk about all the changes her body is already going through and will rush out of the room due to the scent of her moisturizer.
After Mariah throws up and showers to wash away the smell of her lotion, Tessa will note that she plans to box up all the items that now bother Mariah and replace them with fragrance-free products. Mariah will be appreciative, but she’ll still seem sick and glum until Tessa cheers her up with a song and a flower.
Next, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will fill Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) in on her upcoming meeting with Sutton Ames (Jack Landron), who’s been arraigned and officially charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
Amanda will assure Devon that the law is her arena, so she’s never been more prepared for anything in her life.
After Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) spots Devon and Amanda looking cozy at Crimson Lights, she’ll express happiness for them during a chat with Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle). At the same time, Elena will feel sad for herself since she couldn’t fix things with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).
There’ll be some awkwardness once Nate arrives and discusses how Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) probably won’t be able to squeeze in an internship at the clinic after all. Elena will leave before Lola grills Nate about why he can’t move forward with Elena since they’re clearly into each other.
Nate will talk about his past with the late Carolyn and how he’s not sure he’ll have what he had with her again. They brought out the best in each other and there was no need for secrets. Lola will smile and insist that Nate will find all the qualities he’s looking for someday.
Back with Abby, she’ll feel like it was so good to hear Chance’s voice. Abby will tell Nina and Jack that she could hear the emotion in Chance’s voice over the pregnancy news.
Abby will feel hopeful, but sadness will strike later as Abby once again faces the reality of Chance being so far away. Abby will break down in tears as Devon sits next to her at The Grand Phoenix bar.
Devon will support Abby, who’ll thank him for being there for her at her least attractive moment. Devon will argue that Abby’s least attractive is better than most people’s good days!
Devon will understand that Abby’s having a rough time due to the uncertainty of Chance’s mission, which brings danger and no firm timetable on his return.
At Society, Amanda will meet with Sutton and Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) to lay out her defense strategy. Amanda will surprise Sutton by being willing to throw her own dead father, Richard Nealon, under the bus for Sutton’s sake. It seems like Amanda’s ruthlessness will impress her grandfather.
Amanda’s priority will be winning the case, so she won’t be afraid to paint Richard as a greedy blackmailer who was looking to tackle a mountain of student loan debt.
Amanda will want to shift the blame to someone else – perhaps someone at Newman Enterprises who didn’t want to be blackmailed and didn’t want the corruption exposed either.
As for Victor, Amanda won’t view him as a real threat to her since she’s dealt with plenty of ruthless people before. She’ll argue that they can use Victor’s history of commercial bribery as part of the case and call the jury’s attention to what he pled guilty to in 2004.
Sutton will suggest that Amanda should come over to meet the family this weekend – not as his attorney, but as part of that family. Amanda will like the sound of that, but she’ll look disturbed after a text from Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) comes in later.
It’ll let Amanda know that this is only going to end badly for her, so Amanda will mention the troubling message to Devon.
Other Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor will check out a text from Ashland, who’ll suggest Victor still has time to up his offer. Ashland will think they should have a face-to-face meeting to discuss the possibility, so Y&R fans can expect Victor to take that meeting later in the week.
