The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, August 9, teases that Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will celebrate their new life in Italy while Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) prepares for her Manhattan arraignment.
At Crimson Lights on Monday’s Y&R episode, Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will overhear Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) leaving Tara a message on her cell. Lauren won’t think Tara’s going to get it considering she spent last night behind bars!
Sally will find out about Tara’s legal drama and suggest it’s a good thing Lauren found out before she got in too deep with her. “Unfortunately, I got in too deep with you,” Lauren will reply.
Sally will beg Lauren to tell her she’s not buying Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) ridiculous ideas about her teaming up with Tara, but Lauren will feel confident she got the real story.
Over with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), she’ll find Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) shortly after they arrive home from their trip.
Ashland will worry that Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) might’ve seen Tara get arrested, so he’ll head over to the Abbott mansion for answers.
In the meantime, Nikki will quiz Victoria since she’ll think her daughter’s holding back on what happened in New York.
Victoria will delay the engagement shocker until she can talk to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) as well, so Nikki will suggest they all meet up in an hour or so at the ranch.
At the Abbott house, Ashland will find out from Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) that Harrison was shielded from the arrest mayhem and is enjoying a day out with Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland).
Jack will bring up Tara forcing Summer to leave town with Sally’s help and will wonder if Ashland knew what they were up to.
Ashland will deny it – though he’ll admit that Sally did come to him for help with the Marchetti job offer. He’ll note that he simply reached out to Eric Forrester (John McCook) and let Sally handle the rest.
As for the topic of Harrison custody, Ashland will agree to hold off on finding a solution. He’ll hope they have a better grip on Tara’s legal dilemma by the time Kyle returns from Milan.
However, Ashland will plan to file a motion to restrict Tara’s access to Harrison. After Ashland seeks out some updates, he’ll share the latest news with Victoria.
Ashland will fill Victoria in on Tara being arraigned in Manhattan and most likely making bail, but Tara will still be stuck in New York if that happens.
At The Grand Phoenix, Phyllis will be crushed along with Jack. They’ll join Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) for a video call with Summer and Kyle, but it won’t deliver the results Jack and Phyllis expected.
Kyle and Summer will thankfully be back together, but they’ll announce that they talked it over and decided remaining in Milan would be for the best.
Kyle will want to support Summer, who’s thriving in her new job.
When Jack asks about the plan for Harrison, Kyle will suggest that maybe Ashland will let Harrison come live with his daddy in Italy. He’ll think it’s worth pitching to Ashland and will wrap the conversation up since they’ve got some celebrating to do.
Phyllis will be in tears by the time the call’s over. She’ll wind up at Crimson Lights later with Jack, so that’ll bring the chance to gang up on Sally.
Phyllis and Jack will think it’s time for Sally to stop all the denials, but Sally will keep acting like Tara was solely to blame.
Jack will mention Ashland’s confession about Sally turning to him for help. Lauren will also reveal that she went to Eric directly and got confirmation on Sally’s actions.
After Lauren fires Sally, Jack will look at Sally with disgust before storming out. Lauren won’t be far behind, but Phyllis will gloat that she’s still there.
Sally will promise that Phyllis is going to regret this, but Phyllis will just want Sally to go away.
After Sally exits looking both furious and defeated, Phyllis will reach out to Summer again.
Phyllis will tearfully try once more to get her daughter back home, but Summer will talk about how Phyllis always taught her to go after what she wants – and this new life in Italy is what she wants.
After Victor pushes Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) to give her mother another chance, Amanda will hear Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) out in her hotel suite.
Naya will shock Amanda by admitting she’s reached a strange conclusion: that giving up the twins was the best thing she ever did.
Naya will clarify that she’s not talking about abandoning Amanda and Hilary Curtis Hamilton (Mishael Morgan). She’ll just feel like they become stronger women without her and weren’t in a position to fall under Sutton Ames’ (Jack Landron) spell.
As Naya gets emotional, she’ll confess that she wants more than anything to be in Amanda’s life. Naya will wonder how she can ask that when she’s so much less of a mother than Amanda deserves.
Amanda will want to put the past to rest and focus on the fact that she has her mom right here, right now.
Back with Ashland, he’ll stun Victoria with a gorgeous sapphire engagement ring. Ashland will want to give the whole proposal thing another shot, so he’ll get down on one knee and ask Victoria to marry him again.
Victoria will accept once more – and soon after, she’ll deliver the news to her parents with Ashland by her side.
Once Victoria drops the engagement bomb on Nikki and Victor, she’ll ask her dad how he feels about this.
Victor won’t respond just yet, but Y&R fans can expect him to have a positive reaction once he finally gets an opportunity.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victoria and Ashland’s looming nuptials could set the stage for chaos!
