The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Thursday, February 18, teases that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) finds herself in need of a pep talk at the Chancellor mansion.
Abby’s upset over Chance’s abrupt departure and how he left without even saying goodbye. She understands that Chance isn’t the type to turn down a mission, but she needs him home.
Abby knows it may sound selfish, but Nina doesn’t think so. Nina just feels it isn’t possible right now. Instead, Nina wants Abby to focus on starting a family – just as Chance wanted her to.
Abby mulls over the baby’s first Christmas ornament that Chance gave her and decides to take Nina’s advice. It’s time to choose the other half of the baby’s DNA, but that brings another crisis for Abby.
There are just so any options – hundreds of men on this donor list. Abby nixes some of them quickly and then admits she’s looking for a donor who’s like Chance. Nina assures Abby that the baby will be like Chance because he’ll be there to raise him.
Later, Nina picks three donors that she feels would be Chance’s top contenders. Abby’s overwhelmed by such a life-changing decision and wishes she could just clone Chance – or else just swing this in the opposite direction and throw a dart at a random donor.
Nina calls for a break and gets Abby laughing about baby stuff online. After Nina shares some cute memories of Chance when he was little, Abby suggests wants memories like those.
To make them, Abby has to have a kid and to have a kid she has to choose a donor. They get back to the list and select a couple of the same donors, so Nina thinks they’re making progress.
At Society, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) has big news for Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). Mariah offers quite a buildup before finally dropping the bomb that she’s going to carry a baby for Chance and Abby.
Mariah explains the story of Chance having problems on his end and the need for a sperm donor. Abby also mentions Chance being called away, though she assumes it can’t be for that long.
Mariah insists she’s really thought this through. It’s something she really wants to do for Abby and Chance, but Devon notes that pregnancy is no vacation. Even so, Mariah feels it’ll be worth it since Chance and Abby will get their baby in the end.
Mariah talks about Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) being her biggest cheerleader. She’s got Mariah eating and drinking all kinds of “womb-friendly” things.
Mariah texts Devon a picture Tessa made, which is a pic of Mariah with a bow around her midsection – apparently to highlight the pregnancy gift. Devon laughs with Mariah about it and learns the next step is choosing the donor.
Mariah suggests Abby will have to find biological Mr. Right, which is a huge decision.
Devon remembers Hilary Curtis Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) looking through sperm donor lists like it was yesterday. Mariah knows Abby’s picky and will select the perfect guy. She notes that some mystery man is going to help make this happen for Abby and Chance.
At Jabot, Kyle’s distracted during a strategy session with Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman). Suddenly, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) shows up and greets Lauren. She knew he had a meeting with Summer Newman (Hunter King) later, but she wasn’t expecting him so soon.
“Dollar Bill” speaks to Kyle briefly before turning back to Lauren. Bill just wanted to drop in on the “big boss lady” and get the lay of the land. Lauren happily welcomes Bill to Genoa City.
Once Lauren’s off giving Bill the grand tour, Kyle flashes back to when he was trying to dispute the kid claims with Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
Kyle’s distracted once again when Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) arrives. Jack can tell something’s wrong, so he pushes Kyle for answers. Kyle blames it on work, but Jack still seems suspicious as he leaves.
At Crimson Lights, Summer saunters over after Sally’s just grabbed a cup of coffee. Sally says they really do have the best coffee in town and thanks Summer for pointing her in the direction of it. Summer snaps at Sally to drop the act. She says Kyle told her about Sally’s threat to expose his old affair in New York.
“Oh, is that all he told you?” Sally wonders. Summer argues that Kyle told her everything, including Tara Locke’s (Elizabeth Leiner) name. Sally mentions that Tara is married to “the Locke-ness monster” and suggests she’s surprised that Kyle shared so much.
Summer fires back that they don’t have secrets, so smug Sally thinks that’s good – that honesty is the basis of any solid relationship.
Summer takes a jab about Sally’s fatal illness act back in LA. She thinks this affair threat proves how low Sally will go. Sally counters that Summer forced her to go there.
Summer promises she’s ready for war, but Sally was imagining more of a peaceful coexistence. Sally just wanted to deter Summer, but Summer hints that Sally could still go after her job.
Sally says she can accept that JCV is off the table for her, so Summer sarcastically points out how generous that is of Sally. Sally suggests Summer should indeed consider it a gift. If Sally really wanted the JCV job, she’d stop at nothing to get it. The only gift Summer wants is for Sally to disappear.
Sally warns that instead of mutual destruction, they don’t have to worry about each other from here on out. Sally contends that maybe one day they’ll even wind up as friends.
Back with Kyle, he pulls up Tara’s number and hesitates. After mulling it over, Kyle calls and leaves Tara a voicemail. Kyle notes that it’s been a while – and he hears Tara has a son.
Summer appears right as Kyle tells Tara to call him back. He says Tara’s name and assures her that it’s important. “Um, why are you calling your ex?” Summer asks as she makes her presence known.
Summer assumed Kyle hadn’t been in touch with Tara for years, so Kyle admits he hasn’t been. He wasn’t even sure Tara’s old number would work.
Summer wonders why Kyle’s calling Tara now, but then she guesses he’s trying to warn her about the truth coming out. Kyle goes with it and says he figured he owed Tara that much.
Summer fills Kyle in on the truce Sally offered. Summer doesn’t trust Sally, but she’ll along with it until Sally gives her a reason not to.
Kyle asks if that’s all Sally said, so Summer brings up the friendship thing and finds it ridiculous. Kyle argues it wouldn’t be the worst idea and reminds Summer how it’s best to keep your enemies close.
Summer can’t keep up that ruse now, but Kyle feels like the more info they get from their “friend” Sally, the better.
At the cottage, Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) wants to go upstairs until Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) calm down. Nick refuses to let Faith, who gets a lecture about her suspension from school.
Faith insists the vodka in her locker was planted there and that she was set up. Nick and Sharon are struggling to buy it, but Faith argues that it’s true. No one at school believed her. Faith wonders why they would when even her own parents think the worst of her.
Sharon points out that they didn’t randomly stop trusting Faith, who lied more than once and drank after she swore it wouldn’t happen again.
Faith promises she’s telling the truth this time. She points to the mean girls who have been making her life miserable for months. They go after Faith online and in person every day.
Faith brings up the horrible texts, so Sharon wants to see them. Faith says she erased them since they were so hurtful. “Well, isn’t that convenient,” Sharon says. Faith contends that Jordan (Madison Thompson) had her back and was her only friend until Sharon decided they couldn’t hang out.
Faith argues this all started with that stupid Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) article. Nick wants the names of those harassing Faith, but Faith doesn’t want to be a snitch on top of everything else.
Sharon wants Faith to trust them and not be scared of telling the truth. Faith shouts about how she can’t win – that nothing she says is right.
Once Nick’s alone with Sharon, he suggests the bullying explains a lot. Sharon isn’t willing to give Faith a pass for her own choices, though she saves some blame for Jordan.
Nick reflects on how this all goes back to the Adam article that was published. “It is infuriating!” Nick insists.
Sharon admits she may not be doing Faith any favors by letting Adam back in her life. She feels like none of this would’ve happened if Faith hadn’t come from boarding school to support her during her cancer battle. However, Nick doesn’t want Sharon to blame herself.
Sharon knows Nick wants to believe the vodka was planted, but vodka is Faith’s drink of choice. Nick argues it wouldn’t be hard for those girls to figure out what Faith had been drinking.
Sharon agrees the bullies must be dealt with, but she’s focused on Faith. “Our daughter is spinning out of control and we’ve got to do something before this gets any worse,” Sharon says.
Next, Bill’s back in the Jabot boardroom with Lauren. Jack comes in, so Bill teases him a bit and brings up his amazing sisters. Bill says he knows Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) intimately, but he’s just kidding around.
Sally arrives and looks stunned to see bill. She says she has things to run by Lauren, but they can wait. Sally dashes off, so Jack and Lauren seem confused. “We have a history,” Bill admits. Jack tries to quiz Bill about what happened, but Bill bails to meet with Summer.
“What the hell was that?” Jack asks after Bill’s gone in Thursday’s Young and the Restless episode. Lauren mentions the bad blood between Sally and Bill, but she feels like she only got half the story.
Rey arrives at home and learns Faith was suspended from school, so he’s truly sorry to hear that. Sharon fills Rey in on the vodka and Faith’s story that it was planted.
Sharon doesn’t like the way they left things and wants to talk, but Rey delays the discussion. After Rey exits, Nick returns and begs Sharon to tell him Adam hasn’t ruined her marriage, too.
At Society again, Bill wraps up his meeting and tells Summer he likes her style. They look forward to working together. Sally clears her throat as Bill exits, so he says he had a feeling – “something along the lines of puking” – that he’d run into Sally again.
Sally notes that Bill’s her town now and says not to blame her. “The world is my town,” Bill fires back.
Bill admits he’s doing business with Summer. He doesn’t seem to care what Sally does as long as she stays the hell away from LA and his family. “Good luck with this fresh start or whatever the hell it really is,” Bill says before strutting out.
Soon after, Sally warns Summer not to get involved with Bill since he’s the most ruthless man she’s ever met – the kind of guy who’ll burn your world to the ground.
Back with Kyle on Thursday’s Y&R episode, he gets a text from Tara. She tells Kyle he’s made some sort of mistake and warns him not to contact her again. Kyle looks out the window pensively in response.
After Devon heads to his penthouse, he pulls up the Mariah pregnancy bow pic she sent to his phone and looks thoughtful.
