The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Thursday, February 4 – Abby Fears Chance Gone for Years, Having Baby Anyway

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Thursday, February 4, teases that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) battles her nerves at the Chancellor mansion. Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) didn’t come home last night and wasn’t there this morning either. Abby texts Chance to ask where he is and if he needs more time before leaving Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) a voicemail.

Abby hopes maybe Chance is working a case with Rey and hopes he’ll get back to her. Chance’s mother, Nina Webster (Tricia Cast), shows up at the door next. She’s been summoned by Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell), so Abby starts freaking out.

“Something’s wrong! Something’s happened to my husband!” Abby insists. She fills Nina in on Chance not being able to father a child, but she adds that she thought he was OK with using a sperm donor.

Once Christine arrives, Nina points out that mysterious messages to a cop’s mom aren’t a good thing.

Christine manages to make it worse through all the buildup, so she finally blurts out that Chance had to go away and won’t be back for a while.

After Christine mentions Las Vegas and how Chance used to be an undercover federal agent, Abby worries this is connected to the trouble Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) dragged Chance into.

Christine promises this isn’t a punishment. Chance was simply a good agent and his special talents are needed again. “They just took him?!” Nina says in disbelief.

Christine can’t give details, but she’s got letters to pass along. She wants Nina and Abby to hang onto the fact that Chance is a hero.

Once Christine departs, Nina and Abby open their letters. Y&R fans hear their thoughts as they read them. With a case like this, Chance had to say yes. He can’t reveal where he’s going – only that he’ll do whatever it takes to come home to Abby and their baby.

Chance insists that he wants Abby to keep living. That means building their family, even without Chance there.

Chance wants Nina to look after that family and makes it clear to Abby that this isn’t a goodbye. It’s a promise since Chance will be home as soon as he can. After Abby and Nina finish reading, Abby’s upset that Chance didn’t even say how long he’d be gone.

“It could be weeks, months, years!” Abby declares. Nina notes that Chance wouldn’t have taken the case if it was going to be years. Abby argues that saving the world can’t be accomplished in a week or two. She notes that Chance said he would come home to their baby, so that could be “what feels like forever.”

Nina insists that Chance is telling them not to curl up and die. Abby says that if this were a regular case, then Chance wouldn’t have written these letters. She feels like this must be really dangerous. Nina argues that nothing will get in Chance’s way if he’s got Abby and a baby to come home to.

Until Chance can get back, they’ll make Abby a family with her baby and they’ll make Nina a grandma. “This isn’t the end. It’s the beginning. And he will be home,” Nina assures a worried Abby.

Nina thinks the days and nights will be long without Chance, but it’ll help Abby to have this baby goal to work toward.

Abby feels like this was supposed to be something she did WITH Chance. It seems crazy to do it without him. “Babies equal hope!” Nina exclaims. They also equal love, so Nina thinks they should make this baby happen.

Abby’s scared and doesn’t know what to do, but she thinks back to when she found out she couldn’t carry a baby. All that mattered was starting their family, so Nina says that doesn’t have to change.

After Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) arrives, she gets the news about Chance being called away for a case. Mariah’s taken aback to learn Abby still wants to move forward with the surrogacy.

Nevertheless, Mariah notes that she made a promise and will stay on board. Abby has already started looking into donors and is excited about starting their family.

At Chancellor Communications, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) arrives to find Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). She was hoping they could talk, so Billy invites her into the office.

Victoria realizes Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is there, so she tells Billy that she skipped breakfast and is “totally famished.”

Victoria was hoping they could grab a bite to eat, so Billy agrees and updates Lily privately. Lily is fine with it, but she reminds Billy that they have plans later. Billy assures Lily they’ll keep those plans and takes off, but Lily looks irritated once she’s alone.

At Crimson Lights, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) is amazed after Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) casually chats with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) about her New York trip. Once Amanda heads to work, Elena suggests it almost seems like Nate and Amanda are friends.

Nate thinks maybe Elena and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will reach a place of friendship at some point, too. “That would be nice,” Elena says awkwardly. Elena notices Devon in the main dining area and flashes back to her steamy night with him during the ice storm.

Nate wonders what’s wrong, but Elena insists it’s nothing that spending a little more time with Nate won’t fix. She contends that she’s just been working too hard and thinks maybe she’s ready to finally take Nate up on the romantic getaway he mentioned.

Nate is pleased and suggests they might be able to leave right away if he can rearrange their schedules. On his way out the door, Nate spots Devon and talks to him briefly.

Devon wants to know how things are going between Nate and Elena, so Nate says they’re going well. They discuss not knowing for sure when Moses will arrive before Nate exits.

Devon walks over to sit with Elena, who’s been expecting him. Suddenly, Nate returns to retrieve something he forgot. He gazes at Elena and Devon sitting together on the patio, so that leaves Nate looking a bit pensive.

At Society, Victoria clears the air with Billy and promises he didn’t do anything wrong. She confesses she felt jealous that Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare) and Katie Abbott (Sienna Mercuri) took to Lily the way they did. “That’s what I thought,” Billy says.

Billy doubts that Victoria is really OK with his new romance, but Victoria argues that Billy could’ve done worse. Billy could’ve reconnected with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford)!

Lily is a step up; she’s a good woman and a good mom. Victoria does, however, think they should pull back on the amount of time Lily spends with the kids.

Billy contends that Johnny and Katie just think Lily is a colleague, but Victoria argues that Billy isn’t subtle when he falls in love. She feels like the kids will pick up on things, which will make it hard and confusing for them.

Back at the coffeehouse, Elena tells Devon that she still wants to see if she can build something solid with Nate – though she isn’t saying that to hurt Devon. Devon understands and doesn’t want to hurt Elena either.

After Elena brings up what they did during the storm, she notes that she ran into Nate the morning after. Elena worries burying the secret won’t be all that simple.

Part of Elena thinks it’d be better to just tell Nate what happened, but she frets over how that would affect Devon’s relationship with Nate as well as his relationship with Amanda.

Devon wants Elena to make the decision that’s right for her, not because she’s trying to protect him. Elena doesn’t want to ruin anything else for Devon, but he insists that he loves her and what they shared was real.

Devon had reason to doubt that until recently, but he doesn’t doubt it anymore. That’s what their night together did for Devon. He assures Elena they don’t have to tell anyone.

At Chancellor Communications again, Lily and Amanda discuss some new contract details. Since Billy isn’t there, Lily mentions that he went to iron out some issues with Victoria for the sake of the kids.

Amanda was close to Billy around the time of his last split from Victoria, so Lily would love to hear Amanda’s insights.

Amanda reflects on Victoria thinking that Billy was having an affair. Billy and Amanda came together as confidants at a time when they both really needed people to talk to.

Billy felt like he was always disappointing Victoria – and Victoria felt like Billy was unfairly blaming her for their problems. Once Lily understands the situation a bit better, she thanks Amanda for her help.

At Society again on Thursday’s Young and the Restless episode, Billy thinks the kids will be fine. Victoria is willing to accept Billy’s decision, but she still has concerns. She notes that Billy has been serious with a lot of women in his life – and never for very long.

Billy thinks that’s a cheap shot, but Victoria feels it’s an accurate one. She doesn’t see why Lily will be the exception to the rule. Victoria worries about what’ll happen if the kids adore Lily and then Billy splits from her.

Devon finds Amanda at The Grand Phoenix, where they discuss her trip to New York. Amanda also wants to know what she missed while she was gone, so Devon claims just the “same old stuff” and quickly changes the subject to Amanda’s birth mom.

Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) has been in touch through some quick texts here and there. Amanda knows they may never have a great relationship, but she seems willing to try.

Amanda marvels at how easily Devon can make her spill secrets. “One of these days, I’m gonna get you to spill all of yours,” Amanda tells Devon with a smile.

As for Billy, he makes his way back to the office and says Victoria doesn’t think Lily should be in the kids lives at all right now. Billy adds that Victoria admitted she was jealous and knows it’s her issue to deal with.

Lily and Billy discuss how it’s complicated since they don’t want the kids to get the wrong idea about Mommy and Daddy getting back together. Lily is also wary of being presented as the person who’s standing in the way of that reunion.

Billy promises he won’t let that happen. He suggests Victoria just wants him to be absolutely sure that Billy and Lily are real deal – and Billy insists he IS sure. Lily seems a little rattled, so Billy admits there was probably a more elegant way to put it.

Even so, it’s how Billy feels. “You’re the one,” Billy contends. Lily is there with Billy “1,000 percent” – and Billy assures her he has no second thoughts.

At Newman Enterprises, Victoria realizes Billy has arranged to spend some time with Johnny and Katie this afternoon. Victoria just stepped out of a meeting and suggests Billy would’ve contacted her directly to set it up if she’d been free.

Victoria asks Hannah if Billy mentioned whether he’d be bringing anyone, but she seems pleased to learn Billy will be alone. Victoria notes that she’ll drop the kids off herself and cancels her afternoon meeting.

When Elena walks in Society, she sits down for a drink with Nate at the bar. Nate has cleared their schedules for the rest of the week and booked a flight for their getaway. They plan to enjoy the beach without distractions or any kind of crisis, which is what Elena was counting on.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Elena’s trip will take a surprising turn in the coming episodes, so stay tuned to Y&R. CDL’s where you want to be for sizzling Young and the Restless spoilers, updates and news, so check back often.
