The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Tuesday, February 9, teases that Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) take some big steps forward in their romance.

At Devon’s penthouse, Amanda shows up with bags of groceries and wants to stay in where it’s toasty with Devon. She’s eager to find out if Devon can do more than make world-class omelets.

Amanda has a feeling that if they put their minds together, there’s no telling what they can create. After Devon shows off “mad skills” in the kitchen, he makes Amanda admit he’s not a one-trick pony.

They talk about how Amanda secretly snooped in the kitchen and saw all the fancy gadgets. Amanda is impressed that Devon actually knows how to use them.

Devon comments on all the love Amanda put into making the recipe she chose for the evening, so Amanda eventually tells a story about a foster mom she really liked. She did everything to make it last.

Amanda did chores without asking and tried to be quiet. She recalls how her foster mom would sing in the kitchen and ask about her day.

That foster mom taught Amanda all her husband’s favorite dishes, but the husband wasn’t welcoming to Amanda. He pushed the dish away and said it wasn’t good enough. Since Amanda’s foster dad wanted her out, she ultimately had to move on.

However, Amanda’s foster mom slipped the recipe into her bag before she left. It’s always been bittersweet making it, but Amanda confesses perhaps the sweet’s starting to outweigh the bitter.

Later, it’s Devon’s turn to share something from his past. Devon reflects on losing his hearing and how resentful he was at the time.

Devon apologizes for how he acted when Amanda first came to town. That side doesn’t make an appearance too often, but Amanda acknowledges that it came out with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).

Devon’s doing his best to work past everything with Nate and will be spending more time with him once Moses Winters arrives in town.

Amanda wonders if things are good between Devon and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) now. “Uh, yeah,” Devon says hesitantly. Amanda wants to hear more about Devon and says they’ll flip it next time. Devon likes the idea of a next time.

After more reflecting on their histories, Amanda notes that she likes the person she is now and the person sitting across from her. Amanda feels the lesson is the past might’ve made them, but it doesn’t own them.

They deserve to enjoy this now, so Devon hints about making his world-class omelets in the morning. Amanda gives him a look and heads up the staircase. “What are you waiting for?” Amanda asks as she looks back down seductively. Devon takes his cue to follow Amanda upstairs for lovemaking.

Next, Elena gushes over the suite on her getaway with Nate. They get their vacation started and have some amazing Margaritas. Elena insists that Nate makes everything better, and Nate talks about how he wants this to be perfect since the way they started wasn’t.

Elena is the one thing Nate doesn’t regret. He knows everything’s been emotionally draining, so there’ll always be part of Nate that wants to make things better. Nate thinks of Elena when he wakes up and goes to bed thinking of Elena, too. If Nate thinks of something to make Elena happy in between, he does it.

“I don’t even know what to say…you’ve made my heart so full, Devon,” Elena says. She suddenly looks aghast over her blunder – and Nate doesn’t look too happy either.

Elena is so sorry and mortified. “Please tell me you forgive me,” Elena pleads. Nate and Elena agree it was a slip of the tongue – just a mistake. If that’s all it is, there’s nothing to dwell on according to Nate.

Elena insists there’s no one she’d rather be with right now. She promises she’s so happy Nate is sharing this special place with her. Even though Nate knows what’s in Elena’s heart, he can’t help but wonder if Elena still thinks about Devon – or wishes she could go back in time and fix what went wrong between them.

On Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Elena maintains that Nate is who she wants. It’s been a rough few months, but Elena has tried to move on.

Elena contends that doesn’t even think of Devon in that way anymore. Her heart and mind are right there in that room. Elena invites Nate to crawl back in bed with her where he belongs, so he does.

Back in Genoa City, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) can tell something’s wrong. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) rants about Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) masquerading as everybody’s pal.

Phyllis doesn’t want to jump to conclusions or overreact, but she’s concerned about Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) dashing off with Summer Newman (Hunter King) to discuss Sally.

“That Sally girl is thirsty,” Phyllis warns. She argues that Sally is obsessed with attention and approval. Phyllis feels like Sally just goes after what isn’t hers and will do whatever it takes to get it.

Phyllis tells Nick that Sally wanted Summer’s job – and that’s not the only thing. Nick realizes Kyle is the other thing Sally wanted.

Phyllis admits Summer said she took care of it and that Kyle’s devoted to Summer, but Nick notes they’ve heard that before. Phyllis is worried, but Nick wants to distract her until they can get answers from Summer. Even so, Phyllis can’t fight the feeling that something’s not right.

At the Abbott mansion, Kyle explains how Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) came back to drop one last bomb – and Sally knows all about it.

Summer insists that whatever it is, they’ll be fine. Kyle doesn’t know about that. “Do you not trust me? Do you not trust us?” Summer wonders.

Kyle finally recalls splitting time between the city and the Hamptons a few years back. There were wild parties all the time. This one night, Kyle met someone named Tara Locke. Kyle only got involved with her because he was trying to get over Summer.

Kyle never thought it’d go past first night together because she was married, but it did. They started seeing a lot of each other.

Kyle confesses things got more intense, so Summer wonders if Kyle fell in love with Tara. Kyle thought he did at the time, but they both eventually moved on. Summer talks about doing things she regrets as well and doesn’t see how Sally thinks this ancient history is worthy of being leverage.

Kyle notes that there’s more to the story, so Summer asks if the husband knows about the affair. She learns the guy knows Tara cheated, but he thinks it was with someone else.

Kyle confesses the husband is Ashland Locke, a ruthless mogul whose name rings a bell for Summer.

Ashland is a couple decades Tara’s senior. Kyle talks about how Ashland did business with his grandfather and has houses all over the world. Ashland is one of the most powerful men in the country, He has a reputation for going after people who wronged him and avenging those wrongs.

Kyle says he covered tracks, so that’s a relief to Summer. “All Sally heard was second-hand story from a first-rate piece of garbage,” Summer argues. She doesn’t think there’s any proof and doesn’t see what the problem is.

Summer suggests getting ahead of this and putting it out there first. Kyle’s reputation would take a hit, but Summer thinks that’d be preferable to letting Sally use the info against him.

“They don’t call him Ashland the Locke-ness Monster for nothing,” Kyle insists. He can’t let this secret get out or else Ashland will come after them as well as their families.

“Everything we’ve worked for down the drain,” Kyle warns. He wanted Summer to hear the truth from him, but he says they must do nothing.

Summer’s sorry, but she warns that Sally is going to get it with both barrels. Kyle counters that all Sally has is enough to make this a stalemate. It’s about mutual destruction now.

Everything goes boom if either one acts, so isn’t it smarter for everyone to just sit on what they know? Kyle thinks so under the circumstances.

Summer rants that she doesn’t want half of the cards; she wants all of them! Kyle acknowledges that he messed up. He had Sally all wrong and didn’t realize she was diabolical.

Summer realizes Sally lashed out just like Kyle predicted. She fumes that she could rip Sally to shreds, but Kyle doesn’t think he deserves that much support.

“We are a team! We are unsinkable!” Summer promises. She appreciates how honest Kyle has been, though she doesn’t know Kyle’s leaving out the part about potentially fathering Tara’s child!

Nevertheless, Summer vows there’ll be a day of reckoning – and in the end, Sally will be the one who pays.

At Society, Sally cheerfully greets Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and is pleased about seeing his smile twice in one day. Jack and Sally have some playful banter before Jack asks what’s next for her. “Well, won’t it be fun to find out?” Sally says.

Drinks are on Sally in Tuesday’s Young and the Restless episode, so Jack accepts if he gets to toast her one more time. “You astonish me, Sally,” Jack insists. He talks about how Sally is so positive…how she has grit and determination…kept her chin up and look where it got her.

Sally bashfully pushes Jack to stop with the flattery, but he predicts big things for her.

Later, Sally talks about how all the places Jack’s mentioned are on her bucket list. Jack jokes about how Sally should convince Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) to open a Fenmore’s in every city she’s always wanted to visit.

Sally notes that she’d need someone to show her around, but Jack pauses and suggests sometimes discovering things on your own is what’s best.

Sally agrees that’s a good point and decides she’d better get going. However, Sally hopes they can do this again sometimes. Jack seems at a loss for words and watches Sally saunter off.

Jack sits back down at the bar and puts the hand on the side of his face – like he’s reluctantly falling for Sally!

Back with Phyllis at The Grand Phoenix, she tells Nick she’ll do anything to protect Summer. Sally hears her name as she walks in. She’s happy to meet the famous Nick Newman of Restless Style and admits she read it cover to cover when she was younger.

“That is so cool!” Nick declares – though Phyllis is unamused.

Sally was crushed when it turned into a tabloid after Nick left, but Phyllis pipes up that it became more profitable. Sally guesses gossip appeals to some people who like to assume the worst of others.

Sally toots her own horn about her promotion and taunts Phyllis by saying she talks to Kyle all the time.

Sally notes that she told Jack about her promotion, so Phyllis finds it interesting that the CEO would care about the fate of an assistant.

Sally fishes for whether Summer has mentioned anything about her to Phyllis. “Is there a reason she should mention you?” Phyllis asks. “I suppose not,” Sally replies.

After Sally leaves, Phyllis rants about Nick smiling at her. She adds that if Sally gives Summer any more trouble, then Sally will wish she’d never set foot in Genoa City.

When Kyle and Summer walk in, they try to pretend everything’s fine. Phyllis isn’t buying it and resolves to figure out what’s really gone down.
