The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Tuesday, January 12 – Abby’s Terrible Baby Dream Twist – Summer Needs Wyatt’s Help

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Tuesday, January 12, reveals that Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) is sympathetic as Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) battles nausea.

Chance brings Abby some crackers and ginger ale to settle her stomach before it dawns on Abby that this might be morning sickness.

Chance doesn’t think there’s enough evidence, but Abby has one pregnancy test left over from last month and will take it. “And then you’ll have your evidence, sir,” Abby insists with a smile. Chance thinks Abby should relax and wait, but she’s not a patient person.

In Amanda Sinclair’s (Mishael Morgan) suite, she urges her birth mom to take her time. Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) says she’s sorry and struggles to find the right words. “You were, quite unfortunately, a mistake,” Naya admits.

Amanda would hate to hear the harsh version! Naya insists she’s lived with this version of the story for decades and argues that sometimes the truth is indeed harsh.

Since Naya’s parents were very religious, telling her parents she was pregnant was the scariest thing she’s ever had to do. Naya’s father was a rising star in Illinois politics.

When his daughter came home from college pregnant, there was no discussion or debate. Naya was told to take a leave of absence from school and ultimately give her twins up for adoption.

Naya adds that she never even got to hold her daughters. Rose Turner could only realistically take in one child, and she was given a large sum of money since it was easier to just cut ties. These decisions were made for Naya – but frankly, she was relieved.

Naya went along with the plan 100 percent and when it was all over, she moved on with her life. She went back to school, then went to work for her father. Naya notes that she eventually met her husband and had a baby “the proper way.”

Amanda wonders if Naya ever wanted to track down her twins, but Naya argues that it was too risky. “The family was happy. We were all doing well. You and your sister would’ve been a threat to all of that,” Naya says.

Naya knows it may not mean much, but she’s a good mom to Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose). Naya feels like maybe her need to make up for the past made it that way.

Amanda doesn’t get how Naya can say she’s sorry and also say she has no regrets. “I am capable of holding two contradictory thoughts in my mind,” Naya argues. She can feel remorse without dwelling on what happened.

The twins’ father was “just a boy” according to Naya and never knew she was pregnant. Naya reveals that Amanda’s bio dad died in a car accident about a year after she was born. Amanda notes that they’re “both” gone and stuns Naya with the news that Hilary Curtis Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) is dead, too.

On the Jabot jet, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) bicker until they decide to get some sleep along with Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). The pilot will let them know when they can take off again.

Once Kyle’s got his earphones on and eyes closed, Lily tries to drift off to sleep on her pillow as well. Billy eventually gets up and goes over to Summer, who’s surprised when he pays her a compliment. Billy feels Summer’s going to do great things now that she’s running JCV.

Summer admits she’s also impressed with what Billy’s doing with Chance Comm – and with how he’s pulled his life together. Summer really hopes Billy’s left his worst instincts behind for good.

Billy says he’s had some help, so Summer suggests Lily is “really cool.” She warns Billy not to hurt Lily and teases about how he’s definitely out of his league.

Later, Billy works up the nerve to do something he admits may be uncomfortable and painful. He confesses this is about Summer, who really doesn’t want to do this right now. Billy insists he has to since this has been gnawing at him for a long time.

“Summer, I am very sorry,” Billy says. “And I apologize from the bottom of my hear for what happened. I really hate what I did to you.” Billy knows he took advantage of Summer’s feelings for him.

Summer isn’t going to pretend she’s completely innocent, but she also won’t pretend it didn’t really hurt. Billy thinks it proves what an incredible person Billy is that she even stands to talk to him.

Summer knows she used to be far from an incredible person, but she likes to think she’s changed and grown like Billy has. Given how horrible Billy was to Summer, he feels she’s being very generous.

Billy thanks Summer for talking about this – and Summer thanks Billy for the apology. As the conversation wraps up, Lily’s eyes open to reveal she’s been listening.

Once Billy’s alone with Lily, he can tell she seems off. Lily blames it on worrying about the Ask MD Now meeting and how this delay will affect it. Billy’s been in touch with the CEO and everything’s good to go, but Lily still acts standoffish.

Back at the Chancellor mansion, Abby returns without good news. She points out that they can’t really trust the results of one pregnancy test and wants Chance to go get her another one at the all-night drug store downtown. Abby knows it seems like she’s being irrational, but she argues she has a feeling.

Once Chance returns with a new test, he sees that Abby has fallen asleep on the sofa. Chance sits down and gazes at Abby with a hint of concern. Abby awakens later and admits to having that familiar dream about multiple babies and the bassinets – except this time, they weren’t crying.

They opened their mouths, but nothing came out.

Chance says it was just a dream, but Abby fears her subconscious is trying to tell her something. “What if the negative pregnancy test was right? What is wrong with me?” Abby wonders.

Chance contends that up to a year is considered totally normal by most doctors. Abby decides that since you’re more likely to get a false negative than a false positive, she’ll go take the second test now.

Afterward on Tuesday’s Young and the Restless episode, Abby’s disappointed once again. Chance assures Abby that it’s just not their time yet, but it will be soon enough. Abby wants to be proactive, so she’s going to call her gynecologist and make an appointment.

Chance thinks it’s too soon to worry this much and suggests trying over the next couple months, but Abby doesn’t want to wait that long. “I think we should both get checked out and find out if there’s anything we can do to speed up this process,” Abby insists.

In Amanda’s suite again, Naya’s still reeling over Hilary’s death. Amanda admits it was a car crash that killed Hilary, too. She also reveals that Rose died, which is another shocker for Naya. Amanda guesses Naya shut the door so tight that she couldn’t even get updates on that.

Naya will never be able to look in Hilary’s eyes, but Amanda says Naya can look into hers. “Look at me. Look at me!” Amanda says – and Naya finally looks back. Amanda notes that she had the same face as Hilary and yells about how Naya robbed them of each other.

Amanda contends that Hilary was a star – a force to be reckoned with. Amanda calls herself “pretty damn amazing, too.” She rants about how Naya missed out, so Naya gets choked up. Naya tries stammers about how she wishes… “You wish what?!” Amanda snarls before there’s a knock on the door.

It’s Imani, who wonders how Amanda convinced Naya to come with her. Imani assumes this involves blackmail and threatens to call the cops before Naya stops her.

“This is my daughter,” Naya admits to a shocked Imani. Amanda backs Naya up and admits she had a twin, too. Imani’s still in denial and wants to leave, so Naya assures her they’ll talk this out elsewhere.

Naya knows “the words ’I’m sorry’ are laughably inadequate,” but those words are all she has now. Amanda notes that Naya was going to say she wished for something and wonders what it was. “Let’s go!” Imani shouts. Naya looks remorseful as she exits without telling Amanda what she wished for.

Back on the Jabot jet, Summer and Kyle are ready to get off the plane in LA. Billy bickers with Kyle again before they exit, so Lily wonders why Billy gives Kyle such a hard time.

Billy insists that Kyle is young, good-looking and has Summer. Lily wonders if something happened between Summer and Billy since she woke up and heard him apologizing.

Billy confesses that when he found out Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) cheated on her with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), he slept with Summer. Lily recalls Summer admitting that she once could see the appeal in Billy – and now she knows what Summer meant.

Lily’s upset about Billy still thinking it was OK to hitch a ride with Kyle and Summer under the circumstances. She snaps about being the only one who was clueless, but Billy argues they had no choice when it came to the flight situation.

Lily notes that she’s happy if Summer feels better after their heart-to-heart, but this is a huge shock for Lily. Billy doesn’t want to hide things from Lily. He’s betrayed people in the past, but he doesn’t want to be that person anymore.

Lily knows Billy isn’t a saint, but this “sounds horrible.” Billy gets it and acknowledges that this will haunt him for the rest of his life.

Lily says they should focus on business for now and save the personal stuff until after the deal’s finalized. Billy wonders if he should’ve lied and come up with some bogus story to explain everything.

He’s scared that “all of this” with Lily might go away. “Billy, I don’t know what to say about you sleeping with Phyllis’ daughter while you were together,” Lily admits.

Billy asks if this will change the way Lily sees him, but she doesn’t know. She just needs time to process what she’s learned and pushes Billy to give her that time. Once Lily gets off the jet, Billy sits down and looks uneasy.

In their hotel room, Summer fills Kyle in on Billy being brutally honest and apologizing for what happened. Summer can’t forget what Billy did, but he seemed really remorseful and she’s forgiven him.

Kyle thinks that’s Summer choice and gets it since she has the biggest heart. “But it will be a cold day in hell before I forgive him for what he did to you,” Kyle insists.

Summer thanks Kyle for being her knight in shining armor. They strip down and make love – first in the bed, then in the shower. Room service has brought breakfast later, but it’s actually a decent hour to make some business calls now.

Summer reminds Kyle they also have to find out the real story behind Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).

Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) takes a call from Summer and congratulates her on the new job. He hopes Summer saw the write-up they did in Eye on Fashion. Summer reveals she’s in town with Kyle and wants to discuss JCV, Spencer Publications and “a few other things.”

At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, he opens the door to heartbroken Amanda and wonders what happened. Amanda cries as she says she didn’t know where else to go and embraces Devon. He hugs back and assures her it’s all right.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Amanda and Devon’s bond will strengthen even more in the coming episodes, so stick with Y&R. CDL’s your top source for scorching Young and the Restless spoilers, updates and news.
