The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Wednesday, February 24, reveals that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) decides he needs to clear his head rather than going upstairs at The Grand Phoenix.
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) wonders if Billy intends to confront Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) at the Newman ranch, but Billy notes that he didn’t say he wanted to make his head explode!
Billy wants to mull over Newman Enterprises going after Ashland Locke’s company, so he hands Lily off to Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) for a chat. Devon’s got big news that he feels Lily should sit down for.
After explaining about Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor’s (Donny Boaz) fertility issues, Devon notes that he volunteered to be the sperm donor.
“What?!” Lily exclaims. Lily also hears about Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) being the surrogate and finds out Abby’s been struggling with the anonymous donor idea. Devon loves Abby as one of his closest friends, so he views this as a great opportunity to help.
Lily thinks this comes from a place of love and generosity, but Devon can tell Lily’s not responding well to his plan. “Despite the best intentions, things can get messy,” Lily warns.
Lily mentions how Mackenzie “Mac” Browning (Kelly Kruger) and Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) ended up in court over a situation like this, but Devon feels it was totally different.
Devon intends to follow his heart, so Lily says she’s not trying to talk him out of it. She’s impressed by Devon trying to give Abby this miracle. It’s one that Devon was almost part of with Hilary Curtis Hamilton (Mishael Morgan).
Devon wonders if Lily thinks he’s doing this to make up for the baby he lost. Lily admits she does think that’s a part of it. Devon pauses for a moment and confesses that Lily’s right in a way. Wanting to help is connected to that loss somewhat, but Devon quickly clarifies his stance.
This is about that feeling of almost being a parent. Devon remembers it gave him an amazing feeling, so he wants to help Chance and Abby have that, too.
Meanwhile, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) calms Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) over the phone. Faith’s upset about that pic of Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) kissing since it’s all over social media.
Nick does his best to settle Faith down and promises to make this better for her. Once Nick hangs up in Wednesday’s Young and the Restless episode, he looks at the scandalous pic pensively.
At the cottage, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) walks in and admits he needed time to cool off before he confronted Sharon about the pic. Sharon rants about one of Faith’s bullies probably taking it.
Rey wants to know how this happened, so Sharon tells the story – which ends with Adam taking her hand and pulling her in for a kiss.
Rey asks if Adam forced himself on Sharon, but she gives her husband a firm “no on that. Sharon argues that Adam was just being impulsive as usual. Rey wonders why Adam thought it was OK to do that.
“He was very mixed up! You know, he was going through so much!” Sharon says in defense of Adam. Rey needs Sharon to tell him if this kiss was forced upon her or if she gave Adam permission. Sharon admits there was some “middle ground” and calls it “an irrational mistake,” so Rey leaves in a huff.
At Adam’s penthouse in Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Victor arrives and shows Adam the kiss pic in the doorway. Since Victor wants to talk outside in the hall, Chelsea is suspicious.
Chelsea thinks to herself that it’s like Adam’s reverting to his old life – his need for Victor’s approval, “the allure or Sharon…” All Chelsea can do is sit there and watch it happen.
In the corridor, Adam tries to explain the kiss to Victor. “It was a momentary lapse – on my part, not on Sharon’s part,” Adam says. He has no idea who posted it. Adam shares how it all went down, so Victor admits that he understands their intense relationship.
However, Victor wants Adam to be careful since it this kind of thing could be disastrous for Chelsea. Victor says he’s not here to judge, but Adam promises nothing is going on with Sharon. Nevertheless, Victor warns that there are cameras everywhere.
Plus, Adam is a Newman, so people would love nothing more than to pose salacious things about him. Adam insists it won’t happen again. “Make sure that it doesn’t,” Victor warns.
Adam reads to Chelsea later, so she rants in her head about Adam being so smooth. Chelsea wonders what Victor showed Adam on his phone before Rey bangs on the door. Once Adam opens up, Rey barges in immediately. “You stay away from my wife!” Rey shouts.
Rey whips out the pic on his phone and insists it’s all over social media. He rages about it being taken at is sister’s restaurant. “What is that?” Chelsea thinks to herself. Rey contends that Adam keeps coming back again and again.
Since Rey feels Adam won’t stop until someone makes him, Adam wonders if that’s a threat.
Rey points out that there are always consequences and adds that he should haul Adam in. Adam thinks Rey should go. “You have been warned,” Rey snarls.
Nick comes to see Sharon and asks if she’d care to explain about the pic. Sharon calls it a “fleeting moment that was there and gone. Nick admits he’s been on the phone with Faith for an hour trying to make her understand something he can’t understand himself.
Sharon wants to find the kids who have been bullying Faith. Nick says someone posted under a fake name – that much Nick was able to get out of their daughter. Next, Nick drops the bomb about Faith wanting to live with him full-time.
Sharon fears uprooting Faith won’t be good for her, but Nick says it’s just for now – maybe a few days or weeks.
Nick explains that from Faith’s perspective, it’s like Sharon is choosing Adam over her. That picture really hit it home. “It’s a slap in the face to everyone who has loved and supported you this year, especially Rey and Faith,” Nick says.
Sharon promises it was a stupid moment she regrets. She makes it clear there’s no affair going on. Nick admits he has no right to be judgmental with his track record. He suggests Sharon avoid situations where something like this might happen again.
Sharon fully intends to take a step back from Adam, so Nick hopes she can stick to that. In the meantime, Nick believes Faith should come stay with him and calm down. He thinks maybe Faith will give up names of kids who have been bullying her.
Sharon agrees to do what’s best for Faith before Nick brings up Sharon and Rey needing to work through their problems. Nick really hopes Adam hasn’t done irreparable damage.
Billy stops by Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) place to talk about Newman going after Cyaxares. He points out that Victoria seemed surprised, but he wants to hear her side of things. “Do you want to go after ChancComm in order to get back at me?” Billy asks.
Victoria admits it was Victor’s idea. “So much for letting you run the company, huh?” Billy quips. Victoria doesn’t want to discuss this and wonders if Billy’s afraid of a little competition.
Billy confirms he isn’t afraid; he just thinks it’s a shame that Victoria won’t go to her dad and remind him that SHE’S the CEO.
Victor’s still the one calling the shots in Billy’s eyes. Victor insists she made it very clear to her father that she wasn’t happy with his actions. Billy wants Victoria to tell Victor that she’s in charge and call off the deal.
Instead, Victoria changes the topic taking the kids skating. Billy quickly steers back to Victoria stealing this company out from underneath him, but she’s not having it. Victoria warns that they’ll either talk about the kids or Billy can leave.
Billy says he’s getting whiplash over Victoria wanting him to spend time with the kids and then not wanting him around. Victoria replies that she already apologized for sending mixed messages, but she doesn’t want to talk about that either.
Billy guesses he’ll see Victoria at the rink then and asks if he should bring Lily. “Of course,” a displeased Victoria says.
Back at the penthouse, Adam knows that must’ve sounded bad to Chelsea. He says Sharon and Rey are obviously having some problems. The honeymoon is over, so Adam suggests Rey is blaming him.
Adam offers Chelsea water or a bath, but she thinks to herself that she just wants to know what was on Rey and Victor’s phones. While Adam’s gone, Chelsea starts inching her phone toward her to see for herself.
When Nick finds Rey drinking at Society, he admits he talked to Sharon. Rey’s irritated about Nick butting in, but Nick insists daughter lives in that house.
“Another one of Sharon’s exes interfering with her life…it never ends,” Rey says. “I turn around and every time, I see another Newman! And I am sick of it! Why the hell won’t you all just leave us alone?!” Nick says he’s been on Rey’s side the whole time – that Adam’s the enemy here.
Adam shows up to see Sharon next, so she says he can’t be there. Adam noticed Rey’s car wasn’t in the driveway, so Sharon lets him in. After Adam mentions Rey’s visit, he explains how Rey threatened to bring him in. “To arrest you?!” an alarmed Sharon asks.
Adam guesses so. Sharon wonders for what, so Adam says Rey was angry and confused.
Adam just wanted to see if Sharon was all right, but she insists she’s not all right thanks to Adam’s stupid stunt. “Why did you kiss me in a public place where Rey’s sister works?” Sharon asks.
Adam wasn’t planning on it and indicates that it just happened. Sharon says that’s what she told Rey and Nick, but Adam doesn’t think this is any of Nick’s business.
Adam tells Sharon he’s sorry, but that kiss… He can’t get it out of his mind. Sharon says Adam needs to leave, but he keeps trying to talk about how he feels. Sharon warns Adam needs to leave NOW – and that he has to stay away.
When Billy meets back up with Lily, he admits he ended up at Victoria’s place to ask her directly about the Cyaxares deal. Billy notes that Victor went behind Victoria’s back like he thought.
Lily doesn’t want to get into a bidding war with Newman, and Billy agrees that’s for the best. Billy assumes Victor wants to use Cyaxares to go after Chancellor Communications. They just have to hope Victoria shuts down the deal.
Victor heads to Victoria’s house, where they once again debate acquiring Ashland Locke’s media company. Victor says Newman would be a competitor again in the media world. He feels the acquisition would be a good thing.
Victoria says the reason is the problem – that Victor’s trying to use this new company as a weapon to destroy Billy. Victoria can’t play that game, but Victor says Victoria is a Newman. Right now, Victoria may think she can’t destroy Billy, but Victoria feels that she knows deep down she can.
Back at Society’s bar, Nick gives Rey a pep talk. He talks about how Adam’s special gift in life is wreaking havoc, but Nick also feels like Rey shouldn’t give up on Sharon. Afterward, Rey decides against responding to Sharon’s text.
On her phone, Chelsea looks at the pic of Sharon and Adam kissing before Adam returns. After discreetly sliding the phone back on the table, Adam approaches Chelsea. Since Chelsea looks upset, Adam repeatedly tells her everything’s OK – and gets a cold glare in response!
