The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for the week of August 9-13 teases that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will get a big surprise while Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) receives a lucky break. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will also face a moral dilemma, so let’s discuss all the action happening in the week ahead.
Mariah is still trapped by an unknown captor, but Y&R has certainly made it seem like Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) is behind this crazy hostage plot.
Regardless, Mariah is stuck and would give anything to see a helpful, familiar face right now. It turns out Mariah is in luck since Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will show up.
Of course, Mariah is no doubt losing her mind a little bit in that cramped room. She might imagine Tessa or at least have a vivid dream about her.
On the other hand, Tessa is working overtime to solve this mystery and could easily land in some trouble as a result – the kind of trouble that’d get her held captive as well.
Either way, Mariah is in for a shock when Tessa appears.
In the meantime, Sally will feel like her luck might be turning around when she runs into Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and forms an instant friendship.
Chloe will likely push Sally to collaborate on the online fashion platform at Newman Media, which is good since this will happen after Sally gets fired!
However, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) might clash when it comes to hiring Sally, who drove Summer Newman (Hunter King) off to Italy.
Summer and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will decide Milan’s going to be their new home, so Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) tearful pleas will fail.
As for Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez), will Kyle really be able to talk Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) into letting the boy live with him in another country?
Kyle will hope to raise Harrison with Summer by his side, but Ashland could make that plan difficult.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will be cordial and congratulatory when it comes to Ashland and Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) engagement, but there’ll be something about Ashland that he doesn’t trust.
Some hint will surface that causes Victor’s curiosity and concern to take center stage, so he’ll dig for answers.
Billy and Lily will also have a moral dilemma on their hands since they vowed not to publish any more stories related to Ashland.
They may have to break that promise due to all the Locke chaos that’s happening, but we’ll see how it all plays out as the pair waffle.
Jack will have a showdown with Ashland and end up monitoring Billy closely.
Look for Jack to console Phyllis as she copes with Summer’s departure as well – and Phyllis will do the same for Jack since he’ll struggle to say goodbye to Kyle.
As for Sharon, she’ll put pressure on Rey to find Mariah’s trail and follow it.
Sharon won’t care if it’s not what Mariah wants anymore; she’ll just need to see for herself that her daughter’s OK. Unfortunately, Mariah most certainly isn’t and could use a rescue ASAP.
Over with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy), their relationship will take a hit due to lack of balance.
Elena and Nate might end up concentrating too hard on work and not enough on their romance.
Finally, Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) head will be filled with ideas about resembling a family with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) again.
Adam will agree to watch one of Connor’s lacrosse games with Connor, but he’ll push Chelsea to slow her roll beyond that.
Adam will be wary of trusting Chelsea or giving her false hope about their future together, which Adam thinks is never going to happen.
Chelsea may disagree and kick off the reunion plot of the century, so stay tuned. We’ll keep bringing you updates as other Y&R news emerges.
