The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) may find herself back in Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) bed after she faces Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) devastation. Will these former flames reignite and hurt Lily Winters (Christel Khalil)? Let’s consider some clues and try to figure out what’s ahead in Victoria’s messy love life.
Y&R fans know Victoria has fallen hard for Ashland and feels like she’s never known a love quite like this. Of course, that means Victoria’s going to end up crushed one way or another.
Ashland claims to have small-cell lung carcinoma and has agreed to experimental treatment in order to extend his time, but that may realistically only give him a couple more years.
If Ashland’s illness story is legit, then he’s still going to die sooner rather than later – leaving heartbroken Victoria to grieve alone.
However, it’s doubtful Y&R writers will spend the time telling a lengthy story like that.
It seems far more likely that Ashland will soon become a character of the past like Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) – and that means writing an exit that comes far faster.
The easiest story to tell here is that Ashland has been faking his terminal illness all along as part of a giant mind game – one that could leave Victoria devastated in a completely different way.
Regardless, Victoria’s going to be distraught any way you slice it. Since Victoria and Billy have found a better bond lately, the show may choose to build on that.
Victoria may want some familiar comfort once this situation with Ashland blows up.
During the week of August 16-20, Lily will once again question Billy and Victoria’s connection.
There’s surely a reason why Lily’s insecurities over Victoria and Billy’s link keep rising to the surface. The show probably wouldn’t make this a recurring issue if it wasn’t going to build somewhere for the exes.
Billy has changed for the better in many ways, but there’s still a certain impulsiveness at his core.
It’s that impulsiveness that could be Billy’s downfall if he sleeps with Victoria without really thinking about the consequences.
Billy might regret cheating on Lily, but will he do the damage anyway and eventually pay the price?
