The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will play Cupid during the week of March 22-26, so we have to consider who she might do some matchmaking for.
One easy explanation would be that Nikki takes drastic action to keep Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) out of Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) orbit.
Although Nikki has tried to be understanding about Victoria’s wistfulness when it comes to Billy, she’d rather see her daughter keep moving forward. Billy has caused far too much pain for Victoria, so Nikki just won’t want to see her get hurt once again.
There are plenty of fish in the sea, so Nikki just might try to catch one for Victoria.
It’s tough to imagine who else Nikki might be matchmaking for right about now. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) could be an option, but Nikki hasn’t really been in his orbit lately – and Y&R fans know Jack’s quick to shut down anyone who meddles in his love life anyway.
It makes more sense for Nikki to feel like she has to take action and distract Victoria from pursuing Billy again.
Now that Victoria’s profession of love has made a mess of things, Nikki may think it’s more important than ever to keep her daughter from doing down the same old road with her ex.
Billy has a good thing going with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) anyway, so why rock the boat? Nikki may think Victoria just needs to get Billy out of her system, so this is a good opportunity to introduce Victoria to a new man.
Perhaps there’ll be some business associate who pops up in town – some handsome guy that Nikki could imagine Victoria getting along with.
Maybe Nikki could encourage Victoria to handle some deal herself and mix business with pleasure. Anything to keep Victoria and Billy apart! Nikki will probably envision disaster if Victoria lets her feelings for Billy develop even further.
The result could mean more pain through Billy’s rejection – or worse pain later if Billy gets back together with Victoria and breaks her heart all over again.
The outcome won’t be a desirable one any way Nikki slices it, so The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nikki could step up as Victoria’s matchmaker here.
Whatever the case, Nikki will indeed try to create a new couple in town. Will Victoria get set up on a date by her own mother? Will Nikki play Cupid for Victoria to keep her away from Billy?
