The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, April 21, reveals that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will walk in the Jabot boardroom and find Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) standing there with Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman). Jack will talk about a work meeting running a bit long before he takes off in a hurry.
Sally will seem saddened as she tells Lauren that Jack obviously hates her now. Lauren will insist that Jack was just dismayed by Sally’s behavior, including how she lashed out at Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).
Sally will argue that’s not who she is – or at least not who she wants to be. She’ll be desperate for another chance with Jack, so Lauren will wonder why this is so important to Sally.
“Because I’ve fallen in love with him,” Sally will admit. After tackling some business, Sally will wonder why Lauren barely acknowledged her love confession. Lauren will think Sally was exaggerating and will suggest Sally hasn’t known Jack long enough to feel that way about him.
Lauren will argue that Sally is perhaps confusing love with infatuation and will add that sometimes you have to know when to move on. Sally will argue that she knows the difference, but Lauren will counter that she doesn’t think Sally’s deep feelings were reciprocated.
Lauren won’t want Sally to set herself up for another disappointment by believing she can get Jack back.
After Lauren leaves, Sally will consider texting Jack to ask if they can please talk. She’ll sigh and delete the message instead of sending. The Young and the Restless spoilers point to Sally trying to win Jack back in the coming weeks, but she’ll need to come up with a good strategy first!
At Crimson Lights, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will take a call from Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case). Sharon will wonder when Rey’s coming home, but things will be strained as he admits he’s going back to the station after his break.
When Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) arrives, she’ll hear about the problems Rey’s having with Sharon and will wonder if he really wants to give up on his marriage like this.
Rey won’t see what else there is to do except walk away. He’ll talk about Sharon not believing Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) was the one who poisoned him. Rey will mention that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) doesn’t believe it either, so Lola will ask if there’s a possibility Sharon and Victor are right.
Rey won’t think that’s the point since Sharon chose to trust Adam again without evidence. He’ll feel like it’s just more of the same pattern and will suggest that maybe he’s fighting a battle that can’t be won.
Lola will sense that there’s still a debate going on in her brother’s mind, so she’ll think maybe Rey should stay and fight for what he wants.
At the Chancellor mansion, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will show up with a celebratory lunch now that she’s heard the pregnancy news.
Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will admit that although her morning sickness has passed, she’d rather not risk it with lunch and has a last-minute work trip to get ready for anyway.
Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will be nervous about the trip and will point out that it could probably be arranged for Mariah to video chat – or someone else could go instead. Mariah will stand her ground and argue that she’s perfectly capable of flying while pregnant.
Traci will back Mariah up, so Abby will acknowledge that she sounds ridiculous. However, Mariah will understand that Abby’s just getting in some practice as a helicopter mom. She’ll promise to take good care of the precious cargo before leaving to see Sharon.
Once Mariah is gone, Traci will encourage Abby to open up about what’s really bothering her. Abby will suggest it’s not really about the traveling. She’ll admit she just selfishly likes having Mariah there and wants to experience every moment of the pregnancy.
However, Abby won’t want Mariah to feel pressured or uncomfortable. Traci will insist she’s sure Mariah knows that Abby is just excited.
At The Grand Phoenix, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will spot Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) in the lobby and demand to know what she’s doing there. After Tara’s huge fight with Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi), she had no choice but to come see him in Genoa City.
Tara will argue that Ashland hasn’t returned any of her messages and will want to know what happened between Ashland and Kyle.
Kyle will admit he’s got questions for Tara as well, but he’ll want to discuss them in private. Tara will freak over the idea of going up to Kyle’s room with him, but Kyle will promise Ashland isn’t going to find out. He’ll send Tara up to Room 522 and will add that he’ll be up in a few minutes.
Once Tara and Kyle are alone in his suite, Kyle will talk about Ashland accusing him of sleeping with Tara during their business meeting. He’ll tell Tara that he laughed it off and that Ashland said it convinced him.
Tara will insist that was just Ashland playing mind games. She’ll tell Kyle about Ashland claiming he knew the truth during their argument and shutting down when she pushed for more details. Tara will also get updates on Ashland escalating the situation by going after Jabot.
Suddenly, Summer Newman (Hunter King) will walk in and wonder what’s going on. After getting a brief explanation, Summer will point out that there are these things called phones and suggest that Tara could’ve dealt with this over one.
Summer won’t be happy about this detour in Kyle’s hotel room, but Kyle will shift the conversation back to Ashland and how he can defuse this. Tara will insist she’s the only one who might be able to and will warn Kyle to stay away from her husband as she leaves.
Once Kyle’s alone with Summer, he’ll admit he doesn’t think an indirect approach is going to work with Ashland. Kyle will want to tackle this head-on, but Summer will freak over the idea of Kyle admitting to the affair.
Summer will push Kyle to just avoid Ashland for now since coming clean could lead to questions about the timeline and as result, questions about Harrison Locke.
Kyle will want to protect everyone else from the potential fallout, including Harrison. He’ll be concerned about an innocent child suffering if Ashland starts looking at his son and can only see the affair.
Kyle will also be concerned about the family business, so he’ll decide to walk away from Jabot if Ashland leaves the company and everyone else alone.
Summer won’t like that plan and will suggest a safer one. She’ll want to make a big engagement announcement and play up their upcoming wedding. That way Ashland will see that no matter what happened in the past, Kyle has moved on.
Kyle won’t love the idea of using their relationship as some sort of defense, but Summer will argue that she loves Kyle and wants to spread the word anyway. Even so, Kyle just won’t think that’ll solve his Ashland problems. “I know what I have to do,” Kyle will declare before marching off determined.
After Summer fails to stop Kyle, she’ll call Jack and give him a heads-up about Kyle potentially doing something risky. Summer will admit she couldn’t stop Kyle, but she’ll hope Jack might be able to if he gets the message in time.
At Society, Jack will acknowledge that Ashland’s business trip has turned into a rather long one. He bring up the fact that Ashland no longer intends to make that promotional deal with Jabot and will wonder if it was something they said.
Ashland will insist it was something they did – or rather, something Jack’s son did. He’ll talk about their earlier chat about Kyle being a ladies’ man and about how the apple hadn’t fallen far from the tree.
Jack will feel like they should cut to the chase here. If Ashland has something to say, then he should just say it. Ashland will argue that he just did, so Jack will suggest talking about the vicious rumors that were started about Jabot instead. He’ll ask if Ashland would happen to know anything about those.
Ashland will play dumb and will suggest he’s sure Jabot can weather the storm. “What kind of fool would want to mess with you – and for what? Revenge? That is what you think this is about, right?” Ashland will ask on Wednesday’s Y&R episode. Jack will fire back with, “You tell me.”
Once Mariah makes it over to Sharon’s place, she’ll talk about her pregnancy and hear that Faith Newman’s (Reylynn Caster) day in court went well. When Mariah asks about the Adam drama, Sharon will confess she’s been arguing with Rey a lot and may have already lost him.
Sharon will confess that she found out where Adam was and hid it for longer than she should have. Mariah won’t approve, but she’ll understand on some level since Adam saved Faith. On the other hand, Mariah will get why Rey must’ve felt betrayed.
Sharon will fill Mariah in on Rey deciding to move out after things settled down with Faith. Sharon will insist she’d never see Adam again if that’s what it takes, but she’ll worry it’s already too late.
Mariah will hope that maybe there’s still a chance for Rey and Sharon. She won’t think Sharon should stop trying to tell Rey what’s in her heart.
Mariah will meet up with Lola at the coffeehouse later, so they’ll wonder if there’s something they can do to help Sharon and Rey. In the meantime, Rey will return to Sharon at the cottage.
Sharon will make a speech about the future she imagined with Rey and will insist they could still have it. However, a phone call from Adam will ruin the mood.
Once Rey realizes it’s Adam on the line, he’ll force Sharon to give him the phone. Rey will rant about how he’s coming for Adam before Adam disconnects.
Sharon will be apologetic since she didn’t know Adam was going to call, but Rey will fire back that of course Adam did! He’ll feel like Adam just had to interfere again.
Sharon will want to get their talk back on track, but Rey will be fed up with this never-ending Adam drama. He’ll insist on moving out, so Sharon will wonder if Rey wants to go right now and forever. Rey will just know that he can’t stay there tonight and will stomp upstairs to get his stuff.
Back at Society, Ashland will suggest that he has no doubt Jack will get to the bottom of those rumors. Jack will vow to do just that since he looks after his own. As Ashland is on his way out, he’ll run into Kyle.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kyle will push Ashland to save the small talk. “It’s time you and I had a real conversation,” Kyle will insist – and Tara will stand in the background looking nervous.
