The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, August 11 Recap – Mariah Discovers Hidden Camera – Phyllis Rages Over Sally’s New Job

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 11, reveals that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will discover a hidden camera in captivity while Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) rages over Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) new job.

At the Abbott mansion on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will try to lift Phyllis’ spirits.

Phyllis will be proud of Summer Newman (Hunter King) for going after what she wants, but she’ll also be frustrated since she worked so hard to bring Summer home and has nothing to show for it.

Jack will tease Phyllis a bit before she breaks down in tears, so he’ll back off and admit he’s going through a similar situation with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

Phyllis will remain choked up, but she’ll decide she should try to be happy for Summer and will offer to buy Jack a drink.

Meanwhile, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will get on a video chat with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), who’ll hope they can see Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) in action at his lacrosse camp.

Adam will be OK with that, but he’ll seem uneasy as Chelsea starts gushing about how they can make a weekend out of it and rattles off things they can do as a family.

Chelsea will be sorry for getting too excited about her progress and piecing her life back together. Adam will be glad Chelsea’s staying positive, but he’ll make it clear that too much has changed between them.

Although they’ll always be Connor’s parents, Adam will think it’s best to focus on creating new separate paths forward.

On the Crimson Lights patio, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will suggest giving Sally a byline as a contributing expert. She’ll note that Sally could potentially even be the face of the platform and will start to call Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) about the JCV collaboration.

Sally will stop Chloe and insist she should save herself a lot of heartache by getting someone else to write for her site. Chloe will wonder if this has something to do with what Phyllis told her.

Since Chloe would find out anyway, Sally will tell the story of her downfall. She’ll be surprised when that story resonates with Chloe, who used to be Sally more or less.

Chloe will argue that she knew going into this that Sally was no saint. She’ll want to focus on a deadline for Sally’s first piece and will ask if they’re going to get to work or what.

By the counter, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will let Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) know he hasn’t been able to track Mariah’s location.

Sharon will want to know what Rey’s gut is telling him, so he’ll admit that sometimes people don’t want to be found.

At Society, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will text Mariah to say she’s sorry for making her uncomfortable and will beg her to come home.

After Abby confides her growing concerns to Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), “Mariah” will text back urging Abby to stop since she isn’t making this any easier.

Devon will get updates on Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) heading to LA to work on a screenplay and will urge Abby to make another video for Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz).

Abby won’t like that idea since she’ll worry Chance would pick up on the resentment she’s been dealing with.

In captivity, Mariah will be stunned when Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) bangs on the door and announces she’s come to take her home where she belongs. After Tessa tells Mariah to stand back, she’ll break in and tearfully embrace Mariah.

When Mariah asks how Tessa found her, Tessa will pull back and admit that she didn’t.

Tessa will suggest she wants to be able to tell the story of how she found Mariah and the baby one day, but she has no idea where Mariah is or why she left. Tessa will add that everyone thinks Mariah deserted them.

“No, I would never!” Mariah will insist before waking up and realizing it was all a dream. Back in Genoa City, Abby and Devon will join Tessa, Sharon and Rey at the coffeehouse.

Rey will admit he still hasn’t been able to figure out Mariah’s location, so Tessa will think they all need to stop pretending this isn’t as bad as it seems.

Tessa will argue that going to such extremes to get space just isn’t like Mariah. Sharon will understand, but she’ll point out that there’s no proof – and Rey will agree that they need some sort of lead.

Abby and the others will agree that Mariah wouldn’t intentionally be cruel by making them so worried.

Sharon will suggest a digital intervention – and then it’ll be time to start digging into Mariah’s credit card and bank account info.

“Hallelujah!” Tessa will exclaim. She’ll insist this is what she’s wanted all along. Abby will insist Sharon is right – that it’s time to bring Mariah home one way or another.

Back in captivity, Mariah will keep looking for a way out. She’ll ultimately spot a camera above the door and rant at her captor for watching her this whole time.

“How twisted are you?!” Mariah will shout. She’ll cover up the camera and suggest her captor will have to face her if he wants to know what’s going on.

At Newman Media, Chloe will introduce Sally to Adam. After Adam recognizes Sally’s name and realizes she dated Jack, Chloe will invite Adam to call Jack and get all the dirt on Sally.

Chloe will know it’s not going to be pretty, but she won’t think it matters since Adam said she could hire whoever she wanted – and Chloe will be standing by her latest discovery.

Adam will admit it never crossed his mind to call Jack, but he’ll suddenly be thinking he should.

Chloe will point out that if they start holding people to unreasonable standards because of their pasts, she’ll be one of the first ones out the door – and so will Adam.

“Fair enough,” Adam will admit with a chuckle. He’ll tell Sally welcome aboard, so Chloe will take Sally to Society as they gear up for their collaboration.

Chloe will have a really good feeling that this risk is going to pay off. Sally will assure Chloe that she learned her lesson and just wants to focus on work.

As Chloe’s gushing over plans to make Sally a star of the fashion world, Jack and Sally will arrive.

Sally will get distracted by the sight of them, but she’ll try to concentrate on Chloe and this new collaboration.

When Phyllis spots Sally and Chloe toasting, she’ll be outraged. Phyllis will insist that she warned Chloe about “that snake,” but now they’re carrying on at the bar like besties!

Phyllis will feel like Sally needs to be leaving town with her tail between her legs, not enjoying herself like this.

Phyllis will think she should take the “don’t get mad, get even” approach – all while Sally tells Chloe that Phyllis is trouble and she’ll never forget it.

Moments later, Adam will arrive and greet Jack as well as Phyllis. When Adam mentions his latest hire at Newman Media, he’ll wonder if it was a mistake.

Phyllis will pipe that it’s indeed a giant mistake and will rant about how Sally was Tara Locke’s (Elizabeth Leiner) partner in crime. She’ll gripe about how devious Sally is, so Adam will assume Phyllis doesn’t like Sally because they’re so much alike.

Adam’s observation will clearly amuse Jack, who’ll struggle to contain a laugh.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say some Sally’s involvement at Newman Media will make more waves, so stay tuned.
