The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, August 25 Recap – Devon Doubts Stitch’s Story – Sally Stirs Up Nick’s Jealousy

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 25, reveals that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will doubt Ben “Stitch” Rayburn’s (Sean Carrigan) strange story while Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) tries to stir up jealousy for Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).

In captivity on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will struggle with pain and groan about it being too soon. She’ll hope these are Braxton Hicks contractions, but it’ll be obvious they’re the real deal.

Mariah will eventually uncover the camera so she can yell at her kidnapper. She’ll insist she needs a hospital and a doctor before worrying about what the captor plans to do next.

At the Chancellor mansion, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will once again thank Stitch for what he remembered.

Devon will pipe up about how lucky it was that Stitch was paying attention. However, Devon will seem quite suspicious as he grills Stitch about where the convenience store was and why he was even in that part of town.

Stitch will claim he was nostalgic after parting ways with Abby, so he took a walk and wound up near an old pond they used to go to. He’ll contend that he stopped in the convenience store to get some snacks for the road afterward.

Devon will point out that Stitch was there at the exact same time as this new suspect, but Stitch will downplay it and suggest the guy simply came in after him.

Nevertheless, Devon will contend that it was still pretty lucky – clearly not buying what Stitch is trying to sell.

In a moment alone with Abby, Stitch will hope he didn’t make her uncomfortable by mentioning his little detour by their old pond.

Abby will assure Stitch that it’s fine, but she’ll seem upset when he brings up the idea of her taking her son to feed the ducks there one day.

Stitch will be apologetic, but Abby will decide to stay positive and will vow to take her little boy there all the time.

Devon will spy on Stitch as he talks to Abby about their friendship and how much it’s meant reconnecting like this.

Stitch will claim he has to get in touch with Max Rayburn’s (Jared Breeze) caretaker, but he’ll tell Devon to call his number if Abby needs him. That’ll leave Devon looking uneasy after Stitch takes off.

Later, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will deliver some updates on the investigation. He’ll admit they’re still waiting on the surveillance footage from the store, but they have a cop staking the place out in case the guy comes back.

They also have a cop reviewing all traffic cam footage so that they can hopefully track the guy’s car to Mariah’s location or at least run the plates.

At the Abbott mansion, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will tell Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) are all thriving as a new family in Milan.

Phyllis will just wish they could all be thriving there in Genoa City instead, but Jack won’t think they should wallow in their sorrow.

Instead, Jack will take Phyllis to the park, where they’ll share some laughs over iced coffee. Sally will walk over and notice the sweet moment between the exes. She’ll watch for a minute before Phyllis notices and calls Sally out for spying.

Sally will mention something about Jack and Phyllis being joined at the hip lately, but Phyllis will think friendship is just a foreign concept to Sally.

After Jack shuts down the confrontation and sends Sally on her way, Phyllis will promise to at least try not to let Sally get to her. When Phyllis offers up another iced coffee, Jack will be on board if she’s buying.

At home, Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will get off a call and promise to deal with it. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will be curious about what’s going on, so Ashland will explain that a retired employee from one of his old news stations was contacted by a reporter.

Ashland and Victoria will speculate that the reporter could’ve been sent by ChancComm, Newman Media or Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

Since Ashland will want a chance to explain himself, he’ll tell Victoria a story about an older woman who was his mentor.

That woman took charge of her husband’s two news stations after he passed away – and after the woman died years later, Ashland ultimately bought them.

Ashland will explain that was the beginning of his media empire and will assure Victoria there was no personal relationship with this woman.

At the ranch, Victor will fill Nick and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) in on essentially the same info.

Nikki and Nick won’t think that’s anything too suspicious, but Victor will feel like there’s more to the story.

The people who have been approached were reluctant to discuss Ashland’s relationship with this woman.

Nikki will think it’s almost like Victor wants Victoria’s marriage to fail, but he’ll insist he simply wants his daughter to have all the facts. Despite Nick’s earlier point of view, he’ll start to worry that they’re begging for trouble.

Nikki will agree and will add that even if there is something dark in Ashland’s past, Victoria’s marrying him for the man he is today.

Afterward, Nick will pop in the coffeehouse and leave Phyllis a voicemail hoping to meet up for lunch. Sally will overhear and contend that Phyllis isn’t free.

Sally will add that Phyllis is where she always is lately: with Jack. Nick will seem a bit taken aback by Sally’s attempt to fuel his jealousy.

As for Victoria, she’ll corner Victor at the ranch and push him to admit he launched an investigation into Ashland’s past.

Victoria will acknowledge that they’ve made improvements in their relationship and will urge Victor to just leave this alone.

At Society, Gloria Fisher-Bardwell (Judith Chapman) will make another pitch to Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) and lock in the role of JCV’s interim president.

Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will support the idea along with Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart), but Lauren will bring up Sally and worry Chloe made a mistake in hiring her.

Once Lauren leaves, Chloe will start to worry about Lauren’s warning. Kevin will think Chloe should trust her instincts about giving Sally this second chance.

Besides, screwing up in your personal life isn’t the same as screwing up at the office. Chloe will decide that Kevin is right before he rushes off to help Rey with the Mariah case.

At Crimson Lights, Kevin will meet up with Rey and prepare to look into the surveillance footage they’ve received.

Back at the Chancellor mansion, Abby will notice that Devon seems awfully quiet. Devon will ask what Abby makes about Stitch’s story about the old man and the protein bars.

“What? You don’t believe that Ben’s telling the truth?” Abby will ask in shock.

Abby won’t get why Stitch would make something like that up, but Devon will think the story’s awfully coincidental.

Devon will also think it’s odd for Stitch to show up out of the blue and keep delaying his departure.

Then, Stitch came back to town without having a job. Devon will suggest it seems like Stitch has gone out of his way to be the shoulder Abby leans on while Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz) is gone.

Based on all this, Devon will have to wonder if Stitch is trying to get close to Abby and maybe even rekindle what they once had together.

Devon will worry that Stitch is taking advantage of Abby’s pain and fear right now, so Abby will look like the wheels are finally turning regarding Stitch’s weird behavior.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Stitch will have some explaining to do soon enough!
