The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, December 29 Recap – Rey Tells Chelsea He Wants To Be A Dad - Billy Wants Adam’s Job

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, December 29, teases that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will confess an old dad wish to Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) while Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) plots to take Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) job. Let’s talk about what’s coming up in Wednesday’s exciting Y&R episode.

At Newman Media, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will fish to find out what Adam intends to do with the video evidence. She’ll eventually realize Adam’s using it as protection and has no desire for a preemptive strike against Billy.

Talk will turn to New Year’s Eve and now neither one of them have plans, so Sally will suggest doing nothing together – as friends and work colleagues of course.

Adam won’t confirm he’s on board, but he’ll smirk as Sally saunters out looking pleased with herself.

At Society, Chelsea will catch up with Rey at the bar. She’ll admit to not feeling settled back into her life yet, but Rey will think that’s understandable given the circumstances.

Rey will just want Chelsea to see how much better she is without Adam, though Chelsea will praise her ex as a good dad.

Rey will admit he likes to think he would’ve been a good dad, too. When Chelsea asks if that’s off the table, Rey will suggest that time has passed for Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case).

Rey will mention that he loves being a stepdad, so Chelsea will point out that Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) is lucky to have him.

After Rey’s takeout order is ready, he’ll wish Chelsea a happy new year as he prepares to leave. Chelsea will hope it’s going to be a good one for both of them.

At Billy and Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) place, Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) will lay out her terms.

Victoria will agree not to tip off Adam or Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) if Billy goes through with the Newman Media lawsuit. Victoria will want more than just a threat; she’ll expect Billy to hit hard and demand a crushing amount of money.

All Billy will want is a public admission from Adam about the setup. Victoria will argue that’d mean an acknowledgement that the story about Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) is true.

Billy will wonder why she’d go along with letting Ashland take a hit for things in the distant past. Billy will realize Victoria wants to use his lawsuit over the fake drinking and gambling to scoop up Newman Media.

Billy will think they can both win if Victoria lets him run it, but she won’t want a repeat performance of his work at ChancComm.

Billy will defend his skills and do his best to negotiate, so Victoria will agree to take everything under consideration and head out.

Once Lily’s alone with Billy, she’ll rant about being at Victoria’s mercy.

Lily won’t think Victoria can be trusted, but Billy will feel like he’s trying to roll with the punches now that he’s lost his leverage.

After Victoria updates Ashland on the situation, Ashland won’t be surprised since that’s exactly the kind of stunt Billy would pull.

Ashland will think it’s game over, but Victoria will explain her Newman Media takeover plan and won’t think Billy’s going to be a problem.

Ashland will love the way Victoria’s mind works and will admit he’s got some good news of his own to share.

Next, Ashland and Victoria will share that good news at the ranch.

They’ll be ecstatic as they fill Victor and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) on Ashland’s latest medical results.

Ashland will suggest that the treatment seems to have stopped his cancer in its tracks.

After Adam inadvertently crashes their mini celebration, he’ll hear about Ashland’s improving health and express his happiness for them.

Victoria will bring up Billy’s latest downward spiral and claim she hopes Adam isn’t going to exploit it.

Adam will act like it’s nothing new and has grown rather tiresome at this point. He won’t think there’s much to exploit since Billy always does this.

Victoria will end up calling Billy to point out that his act is barely registering with Adam. She’ll insist that Adam has seen it all before and urge Billy to up his game.

Meanwhile, Sally will seem distracted as she meets with Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) at Crimson Lights.

Chloe will grill Sally as she tries to figure out who Sally’s spending New Year’s Eve with, but Sally will insist that the evening she has to look forward to would bore Chloe to tears.

Over with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), they’ll drop a grandma bomb on Sharon and explain they’re ready to look into adoption.

Sharon will be happy for Mariah and Tessa, but she’ll warn that adoption can be a long process.

Tessa and Mariah will feel like that’s why it’s a good idea to investigate things now and get the ball rolling.

After Noah interrupts, Mariah will encourage Tessa to step on the coffeehouse patio with him and look at the finished cover artwork. That’ll give Mariah a chance to push for Sharon’s honesty.

Sharon will assure Mariah that she supports this decision, but she’ll be worried about how daunting the adoption process can be.

Sharon will think Mariah and Tessa will need to lean on each other through all the waiting and disappointments until they get to the other side.

Mariah will feel confident that they’re ready to do all that.

On the patio, Tessa will praise the finished product, but Noah will give her all the credit for being so inspiring.

Noah will gush over Tessa’s passion, fearlessness and vulnerability before adding that she puts all that into her music. “It’s one of the many reasons I adore you,” Noah will admit – though he’ll cover by suggesting he means as a friend and fanboy.

Tessa will seem rather uncomfortable, so Mariah will notice after she joins the conversation.

Once Noah takes off, Mariah will push Tessa to tell her what’s wrong. Tessa will claim she just felt weird about walking away from that important conversation with Sharon, but Mariah will downplay her mom’s concerns.

Tessa will assure Mariah about their strength as a couple and will have faith in their ability to build a family together.

Back with Noah, he won’t have time to stop and fill Sharon in on his album cover design.

Rey will show up and realize Sharon has a lot on her mind, so he’ll offer to whisk her home for a distraction.
