The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, July 21, reveals that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will call out Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) suspicious LA trip while Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) unleashes his stolen son rage. Here’s what Y&R fans can expect in Wednesday’s shocking show.
At Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) house, she’ll get a visit from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and will thank her father for the congratulatory flowers he sent.
As they discuss the merger, Victoria won’t like how Victor’s acting like the move was purely calculated.
Victoria will let it slip that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) moved in since she’ll assume Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) told Victor already.
Victor will be upset over Victoria’s decision and won’t want her to get hurt, but Victoria will make it clear that she knows what she’s doing.
Victoria will push Victor to catch his flight while she stays there and enjoys the merger – both professionally and personally.
At Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) place, they’ll talk about how Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare) hasn’t been feeling well.
Billy will suspect Johnny’s stomach ache is about all the change that’s going on around him.
After Victoria arrives to check on her son, Lily will take off while Billy talks to his ex.
Victoria will agree about the changes playing a role in Johnny feeling sick – at least to a certain extent. She’ll promise to reassure Johnny before talk turns to her relationship with Ashland.
Billy will wonder if Victoria would see a long-term future with Ashland if he wasn’t dying.
Victoria will admit that although things started off casually, her feelings kept growing stronger and stronger. She’ll feel like this relationship is different from the others she’s had in her life.
Victoria will contend that perhaps the urgency of it has made it more serious and powerful than it would’ve been otherwise. Billy will insist he’s happy if Victoria’s happy, so she’ll seem glad to hear it.
In the park, Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) will fill Lily in on his complicated situation with Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster).
Moses will explain that he wants to respect her desire to go slow, but he doesn’t want to go so slow that he gets stuck in the friend zone.
Lily will think there are ways for Moses to show he cares without overstepping. She’ll suggest that girls love gestures and surprises, so that’ll give Moses an idea.
After Moses thanks Lily, he’ll pick up the phone to call Devon and ask for a favor.
At the ranch, Victor will grumble over Nikki not telling him about Ashland moving in with Victoria.
Victor will be aghast when Nikki takes Victoria’s side, but Nikki will convince Victor to be proud of the strength they’ve instilled in their daughter.
When Lily returns home, she’ll find out Billy had a productive conversation with Victoria. Billy will feel like Victoria’s finally met her match, which will make him sad since there’ll be no happy ending with Ashland. Billy will feel lucky that his own soulmate is right there in front of him, so Lily will appreciate the sentiment.
At the Abbott mansion, Ashland will show up looking for a fight with Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner).
Tara won’t be around, so Ashland will lash out at Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) instead. He’ll ask if Kyle’s behind the latest round of custody drama.
“Are you trying to steal my son from me in my last days?” Ashland will demand to know.
Kyle will act like Tara’s only trying to protect Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) since it could be upsetting to watch Ashland decline. Ashland will think it’d be more upsetting if he’s pushed him out completely.
However, Kyle will suggest Tara just wants more control over when and where Ashland sees Harrison. Ashland will take that to mean he’ll have to beg on his hands and knees to see his child.
Ashland will argue that he needs to be the one to tell Harrison about his illness and will want to spend every moment he can with his son.
Kyle and Ashland will bicker over who’s being unreasonable before Ashland storms out.
At The Grand Phoenix, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will have a video chat with Summer Newman (Hunter King) in Italy.
Summer will want to know how everyone is, but Phyllis will think her daughter mainly wants to know about Kyle.
After Phyllis points out that Tara is still firmly ensconced at the Abbott house, she’ll assure Summer that it’s temporary.
Phyllis will note that the Abbotts are lovely people, but she’ll think they’re going to see right through Tara’s true colors very soon.
After Tara appears, Phyllis will greet her and mention that she’s got Summer on video chat. She’ll offer to let Tara say hi, but Tara will decline.
Since Phyllis is being too nice, Summer will suspect her mom’s up to something.
Summer will warn Phyllis to drop whatever she’s up to, but Phyllis will pretend she can’t see or hear Summer anymore before hanging up abruptly.
Next, Phyllis will approach Tara to confess that she only pretended to befriend her before.
Phyllis admit to being protective of Kyle and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), but she’ll act like she was projecting her own selfish history onto Tara.
Phyllis will act like she was wrong about Tara, so Tara will suggest she appreciates Phyllis coming clean.
After Phyllis thanks Tara for listening, she’ll offer a tip as a show of gratitude.
Phyllis will warn Tara to avoid Sally like the plague and will admit she thinks Sally had something to do with Summer’s abrupt departure to Italy.
Back with Kyle, he’ll be annoyed when Sally stops by the Abbott house looking for Jack.
Kyle will think Sally is taking advantage of Jack’s loneliness, but Sally will suggest that maybe Kyle’s protecting his own loneliness onto his dad.
Kyle will mention that he’s looking into how Summer’s Milan job landed right in her lap.
Kyle will think it’s suspicious that Sally took a trip to LA – right into Forrester Creations country where there was so much hate.
Sally will argue that she simply met up with some friends and made connections through a few meetings. Sally will think Kyle needs to stop playing the blame game when it comes to Summer leaving and will ultimately dash off.
After Sally catches the tail end of Tara and Phyllis’ conversation in the hotel lobby, she’ll wonder what that was about.
Tara will insist there’s no need to worry about Phyllis, but Sally will think Tara might want to worry about Kyle then.
Sally will explain that Kyle thinks she had something to do with Summer running off to Italy. Since Sally didn’t carry out this plan alone, she’ll remind Tara that if one goes down – the other follows!
Once Tara heads back to the Abbott mansion, she’ll find out about Ashland’s outburst from Kyle.
Tara will think the time has come to tell Harrison that Ashland’s sick, but Kyle will point out that Ashland wants to be the one to tell him.
After Tara suggests that’s something to consider, she’ll think they should have a nice lunch and figure it out together.
Ashland will join Victoria at Society, where he’ll admit his attorneys agree the judge could view his illness as disturbing for Harrison to deal with.
Ashland will note that’s especially true due to the video, but Victoria will vow to help Ashland fight this. That said, Victoria will think pursuing treatment would help Ashland’s case.
Ashland will get riled up over the unbearable situation and will bang the table as Kyle appears with Tara.
That’ll lead to Ashland confronting Tara over the push for sole custody. Ashland will argue that it’s Tara’s cruelest, dirtiest move yet.
Kyle will defend Tara as someone who wants to protect Harrison, but Victoria will waltz over to throw her two cents in.
Victoria won’t think Tara can rip Harrison away from his father, but Kyle will remind Victoria that he’s Harrison’s bio dad.
As Ashland grows increasingly agitated, he’ll struggle to breathe again.
Tara will think Ashland is proving her point and will wonder if he wants to scar Harrison for life by forcing him to witness this. Ashland will declare this isn’t over before leaving in a huff.
Once Tara is alone with Kyle, she’ll express her fears about Ashland coming after her.
Kyle will insist they’re going to battle Ashland together and will vow to protect Tara if need be. After Kyle calms Tara down, she’ll reflect on things seeming easier back when they were sneaking around in New York.
Tara will suggest maybe they should’ve run away together like they talked about back then. She’ll paint a picture of what their future would look like now if they’d made that choice.
Suddenly, Phyllis will saunter over to comment on how the two of them are laughing and carrying on. She’ll tell Tara and Kyle not to let her interrupt!
Back at Victoria’s place, Ashland will admit the challenges of his illness are starting to get to him. Victoria will feel like a lesser man wouldn’t even be able to get out of bed in the morning.
Ashland will be so happy they found each other and will be grateful that Victoria’s standing by his side through his struggles.
Victoria and Ashland will share a passionate kiss to cap off the warm moment.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Ashland and Victoria’s relationship will get even more complicated soon, so stay tuned!
