The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, October 20 Recap – Nick Says Goodbye to Phyllis - Ashland’s New Treatment Vow

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, October 20, reveals that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will make a new treatment vow to Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) while Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) says goodbye to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and heads for London.

At the palazzo on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will run into Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and trust that she slept well.

Sally will admit she got more sleep than if they’d spent the night together, but then Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will come along and interrupt.

Sally will bring up the dress coup she pulled, but Jack won’t think that’s any of his business.

After Sally dashes off to finish packing, Adam will point out that Sally is merely his friend. Jack will assure Adam that he doesn’t owe him an explanation.

Jack will insist his own ship with Sally sailed, but he’ll want Adam to stop kidding himself and remember what they say about playing with fire!

Meanwhile, Victoria will want to know exactly how Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones) was handled and if he’ll have to be handled again.

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will simply insist that the threat was neutralized and that Adam played a big role in helping. After Victor insists Adam deserves gratitude for saving the wedding, Victoria will indeed thank him later.

It’ll warm Victor’s heart to see Victoria and Adam putting their differences aside at the breakfast table.

In their room, a sleep-deprived Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will tell Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) that Victor openly declared war on ChancComm.

After Billy checks online and sees that Gaines didn’t follow through on his threat to go public, he’ll have to wonder why.

Lily will want Billy to just let this go, but he’ll struggle to do that and will head out on a walk to clear his head.

Next, Nick will wake Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) while packing and reveal there’s been a change of plans.

Instead of going home to Genoa City, Nick will want to spend a few days in London with Noah Newman (Rory Gibson).

Phyllis will seem upset over Nick sending her back to GC alone, so he’ll throw out a pity invite for the London trip.

However, Phyllis will act like she’s got a lot to do at the hotel. She’ll wonder if things are really OK in their relationship and will mention talking to Jack about their issues.

That news will irritate Nick, but Phyllis will keep talking about the tricky place their romance is in. She’ll fear they’re either going to move forward or fall apart, but Nick will think Phyllis is being too dramatic.

Nick promise this is just about clearing his head and making sure he’s learned his lesson this time when it comes to Victor. Phyllis will insist she just wants to help Nick, so he’ll wonder if Phyllis went to Jack for advice about that, too.

After Phyllis points out that Jack is a trusted confidant, Noah will interrupt and mention having a few more goodbyes to say before they leave.

Soon after, Noah will fill Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) in on Nick’s desire to just slip away. Nikki will hate that it’s come to that and will speak with Nick privately.

Despite Nikki’s best efforts to mend the rift in the family, she won’t make any progress. As for Phyllis, she’ll tell Jack that this beautiful country has lost a bit of its magic for her.

Phyllis will hope there’s room on the Jabot jet, so Jack will hope this doesn’t mean things got worse for Phyllis and Nick.

Phyllis will downplay everything, so Jack will suggest he’s happy to have the company. When Sally learns from Nick that Phyllis is flying home separately, she’ll claim she hopes there’s no trouble in paradise.

Victor will also try to talk to Nick alone later, but Nick won’t think there’s anything to discuss.

Adam will give Victor a pep talk and argue that Nick will come around, but Victor will want to focus on a full-scale ChancComm attack. After Adam says he’s no longer opposed, that’ll be exactly what Victor wants to hear.

Victor will add that he already warned Billy and will be pleased to learn he can count on Adam 100 percent.

Billy will eavesdrop on that conversation and return to Lily with troubling updates. He’ll insist an all-out war is coming fast and hard, so he’ll think the only way to protect themselves is to strike first.

Billy will contend that the best defense is a massive offense, but Lily will seem worried about what he’s cooking up.

Back with Nick, he’ll reconvene with Phyllis for a proper goodbye. Nick will insist Phyllis should stop worrying and overthinking everything that’s gone down.

Nick will reiterate that he just needs a couple days to clear his head, so Phyllis will wonder if they can get back to the happy couple they were before.

After Nick reassures Phyllis, he’ll give her a kiss on the cheek and embrace her. As Nick exits, Jack will peer in Phyllis’ room and look concerned.

Over with Victoria and Ashland, they’ll discuss how they’ll be beginning their new chapter now that the wedding’s over. Ashland will assure Victoria that he’s ready for the challenges of that reality.

Ashland will want to bring on the next round of treatments and will vow to find newer, stronger courses of action if those don’t work.

Ashland will insist he needs more time with Victoria and will promise they’re going to be an unstoppable force together. “Get ready. My new wife and I are about to conquer the world,” Ashland will say before kissing Victoria passionately.

At Society in GC, Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will be livid as she enters with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc).

They’ll join Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) at their table, where it’ll quickly become apparent that Chloe was in on Sally’s dress plot.

Chloe will try to explain, but Lauren will rant over the betrayal.

Although Chloe won’t be sorry for the stolen moment in the spotlight, she’ll be sorry she didn’t give Lauren a heads-up. “You should be!” Lauren will declare before storming out.

Chloe will call Sally soon after, but Sally will end up disconnecting before Chloe can reveal that Lauren’s out for blood.

At Crimson Lights, Lauren will argue that Sally isn’t going to get away with this. She’ll be willing to forgive Chloe eventually, but she’ll think Sally is a different story altogether.

Lauren will tell Michael that it’s just one catastrophe after another with Sally. She’ll wonder what it’s going to take to stop Sally because it’s not going to end unless somebody does something!

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sally’s downfall could be brewing, so stay tuned to see what’s ahead on Y&R.
