The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the week of August 9-13 tease that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will kick off a Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) mission after facing pressure from Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case). Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) power battle will also heat up while Summer Newman (Hunter King) reveals a new bombshell.
First, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will spread her engagement news to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Nikki and Victor will have some concerns, but this is Victoria’s choice – and she’ll stand by it.
Victoria will be adamant about planning a big wedding celebration and ultimately making Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) her husband.
We’ll see Victor deliver a stung proposal to Victoria – and later, Victor will confront Ashland about this whirlwind romance and what exactly Ashland’s intentions are.
As for Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), they’ll struggle with a moral dilemma.
Billy has vowed to back off Ashland stories, but he may be tempted to publish more based on all the new developments. Even Lily may think they have to do what’s best for ChancComm in the end.
Next, Summer will catch her parents by surprise. She’ll deliver a shocker that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) weren’t expecting, so this could be about her desire to stay in Italy.
With Tara Locke’s (Elizabeth Leiner) leverage gone, Phyllis may argue that there’s no reason for Summer to remain in Milan.
However, Summer’s career has been given a big boost – and she surely won’t want to bail after Angelina Marchetti (Cristina Serafina) took a chance by hiring her.
Perhaps Summer’s shocker will involve her decision not to return to Genoa City. As for Jack, he’ll end up locked in a power battle with Ashland.
This could tie in with Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) custody since that’s bound to become an issue again soon.
Over with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy), they’ll have a hard time finding the right balance in their romance. Elena and Nate are both quite committed to their work at the hospital.
That’s truer than ever now that Nate’s been given a promotion, so this could lead to some relationship troubles they weren’t anticipating.
Of course, that could also give Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) an opportunity to swoop in and make her move with Nate!
Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) may want to keep an eye on her sister, but she’ll also clear something up for her mother.
Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) will meet with Amanda, who’ll clarify where things stand – perhaps regarding Sutton Ames’ (Jack Landron) case and how it affects their relationship.
Back with Jack, he’ll do some commiserating with Phyllis. They’ll find some common ground as they deal with the latest drama surrounding Summer and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Across town, Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) will struggle to buy the idea of this new-and-improved Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Y&R spoilers say Kevin will need more proof before he’s ready to accept this better version, but Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) seems interested in a fresh start for “Chadam.”
Look for Chelsea to feel things out and see what her options are. If Chelsea sees that the door’s open even just a crack when it comes to a reunion, she should latch onto the idea and go after it.
This could complicate things for Adam, especially since he can never seem to shake Sharon.
Speaking of Sharon, she’ll grow more concerned about missing Mariah and push Rey to begin a true search for her daughter.
Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will also get a mysterious message that’s supposedly from Mariah, but it’ll just leave her baffled and uneasy.
