The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers preview for the week of March 22-26 teases that Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will get emotional over Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) fight to survive. Rey’s blood test will reveal that he’s been poisoned with a deadly substance called thallium.
After Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) nails down the diagnosis and works to get the poison out of Rey’s system, he’ll give Sharon updates on the situation.
Nate will point out just how rare it is for someone to be poisoned. It’ll be strange to Nate, who’ll have Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) on this case backing him up.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say there’ll be some dark moments where it looks like Rey may not make it. Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) will make a tearful plea for her “bro” to get better, but part of her will worry this is the end of the road.
Likewise, Sharon will shed plenty of tears over her husband’s latest medical news. Everyone who cares about Rey will face a difficult waiting game, but Sharon will do her best to keep hope alive.
“We need you to hang on. We need you to fight. Don’t you dare leave me, OK?” Sharon tells Rey in this week’s gripping Y&R promo.
Thankfully, Rey will indeed overcome his health struggles and open his eyes soon enough. Nate will examine Rey and see that he’s responding to treatment, so Rey will officially be out of the woods.
However, the story will shift in another troubling direction as Nate tries to figure out this happened. After Rey finds out thallium is to blame, Nate will mention some potential ways that he could’ve been exposed to it.
One of them will include the possibility that Rey was on an industrial site and somehow came into contact with it, but Rey will insist nothing like that happened.
Since Rey is a valuable member of the police force, The Young and the Restless spoilers say this investigation will certainly be a priority. Sharon’s house will be searched promptly – and that’ll bring yet another alarming discovery: thallium mixed in Rey’s shaving cream, hair gel and body wash.
Once Sharon learns Rey was intentionally targeted, she’ll think Rey might have some fierce foe out there – maybe someone Rey arrested or testified against. It’ll be Rey who first becomes convinced of Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) guilt, but Sharon will eventually buy that idea, too.
Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) seems to be pulling the strings of this whole operation, so we’ll see how long it takes before her devious efforts are uncovered!
