The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the week of May 31-June 4 tease that Mishael Morgan will return as Amanda Sinclair, who’ll face a private detective bomb. Daddy Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will also have to figure out his next move, so let’s talk about what’s in store.
For starters, the results of Harrison Locke’s (Kellen Enriquez) paternity test will be in. Kyle will learn those results along with Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi), but it’s Ashland who’ll end up livid and devastated.
Despite Ashland’s many faults, he’s been a devoted and loving father according to Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner). Being a decent dad to Harrison was apparently the one thing Ashland did right, but the father title will be yanked away in an instant.
Y&R spoilers say the DNA test will confirm that Harrison is Kyle’s son, so Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will worry about Summer Newman (Hunter King).
Summer’s relationship with Kyle is naturally going to change as a result of this development, so it’s easy to see why Nick and Phyllis will be so concerned.
These parents will wish they could bubble-wrap their daughter’s heart and prevent more pain, but they’ll just have to let Summer and Kyle figure things out for themselves.
Summer will feel like she’s on the outside looking in as Kyle and Tara continue to reconnect. The paternity test results are only going to pull Tara closer to Kyle, especially since they’ve got a custody case to prepare for. Kyle will have to make some big decisions regarding the road ahead.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will hear the official paternity news and know Ashland’s sure to retaliate. That’s why Jack will stay on guard when it comes to both his family and his business. Jack will make it clear that he’s not going to let Ashland destroy Jabot or Kyle’s future.
However, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will hope Ashland follows through on his part of their deal. Will Ashland arrange for Summer to receive an illustrious fashion house offer as promised? We see no reason why he wouldn’t!
Ashland will be even more motivated to cause pain for Kyle once the paternity results are in, so it makes sense for him to grant Sally’s wish.
A long-distance relationship could be the first step toward a split, but there’s no guarantee Summer will take the offer. Regardless, this could create more tension and issues in Kyle and Summer’s romance.
Over with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), he’ll push Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) to stick to the plan. Victor may sense that Chelsea could make a mess of things by trying to manipulate Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and warn her not to blow their deal.
Victor will also come up with an attack strategy in his war against Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will have some ideas of his own, so there’ll be some bickering about how exactly ChancComm should be crushed.
Back with Nick, he’ll battle doubts about the truce he’s reached with Adam.
Will Nick see some warning signs that make him fear the old Adam will come roaring back? Nick will worry trusting Adam is a mistake, so there’ll be a bit of a setback when it comes to their attempt at a brotherly bond.
Nick will also receive a business proposal that intrigues him, but who will it be from? We wouldn’t be surprised if Victor tried to convince Nick to work with Adam in some capacity, but Nick might worry that’s a bad idea.
It’ll be interesting to see if Nick decides to accept the job offer that’s headed his way.
Next, Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) will force Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to make a confession.
Chloe already came clean to Kevin, so will he talk Chloe into betraying Chelsea and spilling her inadvertent poisoning plot role to the cops? Time will tell, but Chloe will face more drama no matter what!
Mishael Morgan will reclaim the role of Amanda Sinclair on Tuesday, June 1, so that’s something to look forward to. Karla Mosley has done a fantastic job filling in, but this was always a temporary recast situation.
Once Morgan returns as Amanda, she’ll share scenes with Telma Hopkins.
Hopkins will be playing the role of Denise Tolliver, a private detective who helps Amanda with the search for answers about her past and her family’s secrets. Denise will have some stunning info to deliver, so Amanda had better be ready for a bombshell!
Hopkins acted with Bryton James on Family Matters, so they’ll have an onscreen reunion since Devon will share scenes with Denise as well starting June 1. As other Y&R details emerge, we’ll keep bringing you updates.
