The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the show is gearing up to answer the question: Who is Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi)? Since Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will find no birth certificate or record of Ashland’s parents, a new mystery is brewing surrounding Ashland’s true identity.
Ashland obviously isn’t being honest about who he really is, so this presents another question of why. Although Ashland acted like he wasn’t keeping any secrets from Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), that was clearly a lie.
Victoria just wants to know she’s marrying a man who can be honest with her and trust her completely, but Ashland just can’t be that man – not when he’s got so many skeletons in his closet.
As a result, Victoria can’t trust Ashland either! She’ll soon start to realize that as suspicions surrounding Ashland’s past continue to rise.
Y&R fans know Billy has launched an investigation into Ashland’s shady history. Billy’s convinced that Ashland’s hiding some shockers and is counting on at least one being big enough to derail this wedding.
Billy feels like there has to be some terrible bombshell that would convince Victoria to call the whole thing off.
Billy is particularly interested in finding out where Ashland got the money for those two news stations when he was just starting out in his career.
Ashland’s connection to that older female mentor is another topic on Billy’s list of questions and concerns.
As part of Billy’s investigation, he’ll determine he should probably start at the beginning.
During the week of September 13-17, Billy will look into Ashland’s parents along with their son’s birth, but that’ll lead to some peculiar discoveries.
There’ll be no record of Ashland’s mom or dad being born or dying. It’ll be like they never existed – and that’s presumably because they didn’t.
Not the people Ashland’s claiming are his parents anyway! It sounds like they’ll just be bogus names on a page, so Billy will be perplexed over this information.
It turns out there’ll be no record of Ashland’s birth either, so Ashland was clearly born as someone else before taking on a new identity.
After Billy presents his findings to Victoria, she won’t think her ex’s research offers the full picture.
Victoria will want to hear Ashland’s side of things, but Billy may worry her fiancé is just going to spin this and keep pulling the wool over her eyes.
Ashland will eventually provide some version of the truth, but it won’t be the entire story – and Victoria will have to wonder just how many other secrets her husband-to-be is hiding.
