The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) may smash her own portrait and have a meltdown after Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) Lies & secrets become too much to take.
Y&R fans know Victoria has grown increasingly worried over all Ashland’s deception. At her core, Victoria is almost as concerned as the naysayers of her relationship like Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).
However, Victoria is always quick to shut down other people’s attempts to undermine her engagement or badmouth Ashland in any way.
Even if Victoria doesn’t fully believe it, she’s been trying to act like who Ashland is now is most important.
That may be true on some level, but Ashland’s past still matters – especially since he hasn’t changed enough to stop all the lies and schemes.
Victoria defended Ashland after he came clean about creating a new identity for himself to escape an abusive father and a mother who allowed it.
Then came Nick’s revelation of Ashland’s birth name along with Ashland’s Bobby DeFranco car crash confession.
That’ll prove more difficult to get over since Ashland initially left out the part where he fled the scene of an accident and took his dead best friend’s identity as his own.
Victoria will struggle with this shocker in the coming episodes – and it looks like more bombshells are just around the corner.
Viewers still don’t have all the answers when it comes to Ashland and his shady history, but all will be revealed in time.
Ashland’s empire was built on criminal activity, so the details may rattle Victoria and make her feel like she’s made one bad call after another.
Billy isn’t convinced that Ashland is even sick, so that might be something he proves sooner or later.
Victoria will resolve to move forward with the wedding to avoid a merger scandal, but there’s still a chance she’ll back out at the last second.
Even if she doesn’t, furious Victoria could still go after that portrait in her office.
It was Ashland’s gift to highlight Victoria’s role as Newman Enterprises’ leader, but she may not feel like much of one after everything blows up.
No matter how this plays out, it’s easy to imagine livid Victoria wanting to remove this reminder of Ashland. Victoria may rip that portrait down off the wall and smash it herself.
It’d be reminiscent of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) portrait smashing days, so it seems like a move Y&R might have Victoria make.
