In tonight’s You, Me & My Ex episode, Lisa and her ex-husband Jimmy and both of their partners were visiting the former’s, couple son. Dominic is turning twenty-one and his family wanted to be with him to celebrate. However, traveling together might not have been the best idea. Lisa tends to butt heads with her ex-husband’s new partner Wendy. Wendy and Lisa have been known to fight.
They constantly bicker and so no one was looking forward to the long trip together. Both women promised their partners to be at their best and they were going to try. They were just other issues with the trip. It wasn’t just the two women. It was also Jimmy and Lisa. Lisa wants to tell their son why they got divorced and Jimmy naturally hated the idea because he claims their son didn’t need to know the details.
Only Jimmy really didn’t want their son knowing the truth because he was party afraid of looking bad. Jimmy and Lisa were still arguing about it as they all boarded the rented RV for their trip to see Dominic. Then there was Alex and his girlfriend Caroline. They visited his family for the first time and Caroline fit right in. his family loved Caroline. They also thought it was weird that Alex was still speaking with his ex-boyfriend Steve all the time and even Caroline had a problem with it. Caroline doesn’t mind that the two men are friends. She simply doesn’t believe Steve should be as involved as he is in their relationship and it also hurt when his family brought Steve up. His family is still close to Steve.
Alex’s family also wanted to know how to define him. Is he gay? Is he bisexual? Alex came up with demi-sexual and his family didn’t understand that one because there really is no “d” in LGBTQIA. They tried to get Alex to explain it to them. He got upset and he drove off in a huff and he left behind his girlfriend. He left Caroline behind.
She had to get a ride with the filming crew and she listened to Taylor Swift the whole way back because she had been upset and had needed to cry. Alex’s family had asked her if she really wants to be a part of their family with Alex being the drama queen he is and so that led to some thinking. Caroline went back to Alex’s. She talked to him about why he left and he told her he had been so embarrassed.
He didn’t apologize. He just tried to excuse it and Caroline let him because she said she would have gotten offended if her parents asked her why she’s dating a man who used to date men or why she’s dating outside of her race? Caroline understood that Alex left because he got offended and so she was supportive.
She was really supportive of someone who had been left behind. She was so nice about it that Alex did eventually apologize for his behavior and they never got to the crux of the matter. They didn’t really discuss Steve. Caroline doesn’t want Steve hanging around so much or being a part of their lives so much and she secretly believes that Steve wants Alex back. She didn’t say that to Alex when he asked how she was feeling but she thought it.
Chantel later found out she was pregnant. She has been trying to get pregnant for the last six months and she’s been using her wife’s ex-husband’s sperm. Chantel and her wife Jennifer were using Josh’s sperm. Josh is now married to Danielle. He has children with both Danielle and with his ex-wife Jennifer. He’s now going to have a child with Chantel.
Only he won’t be a daddy. He would be a contributing factor and he wouldn’t be getting an official title because Jennifer and Chantel will be the parents. They weren’t going to lie to the child or anything. The child will know that Josh is his or her biological father. They just won’t be able to call him dad and so the part Josh played was important but it doesn’t seem they fully thought it through.
Another poorly thought idea was the RV ride. Lisa and Wendy got to talking and Wendy revealed that Lisa purposely skipped her wedding by going to Paris with Jack. Jack hadn’t even known that. He thought they just went to Europe for a nice vacation and so Wendy was spilling tea. Wendy asked Lisa if it was because she hated her and that’s not the reason she skipped the wedding. Lisa skipped the wedding because she didn’t want to be thinking of Jimmy marrying someone else.
Lisa also knew that she could have gotten Jimmy back if she wanted to and she let the opportunity slide. Jimmy had written Lisa a letter back when he was dating Wendy. In this letter, he confesses to still loving Lisa and wanting one more chance and Lisa never gave him one.
Lisa let the opportunity slide. She then didn’t want to see him get married to someone else and so she left town and went to a place that was so many hours ahead of that she wouldn’t even know when exactly Jimmy got remarried. Roy wishes to do the same with his ex-wife April and her husband John getting remarried. The couple wanted to renew their vows. They got married in secret as a way to not hurt anyone and people still got hurt. April’s ex-husband Roy was hurt.
He firmly believes that April left him to be with John and nothing she said or did will convince him differently. April still claims that nothing physical happened with John while married to Roy. Only Roy believes it was an emotional affair and that’s why he doesn’t wish to celebrate it or be at the new wedding.
Two days into the RV trip, the respected partners were having a problem with how close the exes are. Wendy and Jack were both tired of how Jimmy and Lisa were acting. The exes were friends before they were married and so that friendship has come back. The two joke around. They flirt. Wendy felt disrespected and she especially got upset when Jimmy took a bug off of Lisa. Wendy said she would freak if he touched his wife again and so she told him to “stop”. Wendy was getting jealous. She didn’t like the ease between Lisa and Jimmy and she wasn’t like Jack. She would say something if they went too far and the touching was going too far.
