In tonight’s 7 Little Johnstons episode, it is New Year’s Eve. The family is all together and plans to eat, drink and shoot off fireworks. They teach Joose about Fondue. He thinks they are saying fun-do. Joose dips his marshmallow in cheese. Alex gets queasy. Joose spits it out. They talk about what they do in Finland for fun. He tells them about parties and get-togethers. They discuss want they want in the new year. The family then lights off fireworks. Amber videos them doing sparklers. Liz starts throwing poppers. Joose jumps. Trent lights off a big one.
The next day the family goes to a sauna. Joose tells them how they sauna in Finland. He typically goes naked. Joose thinks it is weird they are all wearing clothes. Most of the Johnstons leave. Joose and Trent are the last ones in there. The family makes bets. Elizabeth carries Joose out.
As part of their plan to destress in 2022, Amber introduces a bed of nails to Trent. The whole family takes part. Trent goes first. Amber reads the directions to evenly distribute his weight. After they all take turns. Trent steps on AMber’s hand while she has them on the bed of nails. She calls him a punk @ss B%tch. They then teach Joose what that means in America and when to say it.
Jonah and Trent go golfing. They discuss selling cars now that Trent is in the business. Trent is now trying to golf once a week to distress. They give each other advice on how to close deals. Jonah likes that he listens and they can bond over it.
Trent and Amber get a disturbing call from Jonah. He admits to taking Delta 8, a synthetic drug. He was slurring and scarred. He didn’t know where he was. Trent had to go and find him based on a screenshot.
They are having him over tonight to talk about what he did. The drug is not FDA-approved and is legal. Trent doesn’t know how to feel. Amber was terrified and scared. She doesn’t think she is mad so to speak. She is surprised this is something Jonah has done.
Jonah arrives at his parent’s home. He sits and talks to them. He and his friends all sat and researched. He took it and was paranoid and just wouldn’t wear off. Jonah took what his very large buddies took. Trent and Amber tell him from their point of view what happened to them and what he said. They want to know if it will happen again. Jonah tells them it was traumatizing. He doesn’t ever want to do that again.
Amber and Trent remind him of his birth and how he was intubated. It was the worst day of Amber’s life until yesterday. He declines sleeping over and hugs them goodbye.
That night, Trent and Amber discuss Delta 8 and whether Jonah needs a therapist. They need to know if he is trying to override something else. Trent feels very stressed. Amber just wants to sleep peacefully.
