In tonight’s Alaskan Bush People following a two-day expedition from their remote Washington island, Bird arrived in Alaska. Bird went her sister, her brother Noah, and Noah’s family back to their Alaskan homestead. They lived in an Alaskan cabin for a while when the kids were all small. Bird had even been born there. The cabin holds many memories and its what many of the family members consider to be their true home. It wasn’t like the North Star Ranch. Their mountain was where many hoped would be their last stop but it wasn’t quite home. It was just where the family got to realize their father’s dream. Billy dreamed of owning a large self-sustaining ranch one day. And the family wanted to keep that dream alive.

But it’s been hard. The ranch suffered a lot of setbacks. There was a devastating fire that destroyed most of their infrastructure and rebuilding hasn’t been smooth. They finally got their animals back up the mountain, but now they have to deal with bears. Bears were coming out of hibernation. They were hungry and seeking food. They often eat out of the animal trough that the family has lying around. So, the family considered a silo. It was supposed to keep things safe from bears. It was just pretty hard setting the thing up. Noah could have gotten the thing up. He’s the tech guy as in he could design something for them to help.

Without Noah, it was just the other three brothers. There was Bam Bam who knew Logistics. There was Gabriel who could provide muscle. Lastly, there was Bear who was always up for anything. All three gave the silo their best and they still struggled. They first struggled with transporting it. Bam Bam reached an agreement with a nice young man he met and bought the silo from. The first true problem lay in putting the silo onto the truck. The silo was quite heavy. They had to roll it before lifting it. They then had to make sure that it was properly on the back of the truck or else it would have rolled right off during transport.

Bam Bam and Gabe got that part done by themselves. But getting it up the mountain was a different story. That’s when they roped in Bear and they were doing their best to make it work while over in Alaska – Bird was taking unnecessary risks. Bird just had surgery. She had giant tumors removed from her ovaries and her doctor told her to take it easy. Which she ignored once she got to Alaska. Bird was barely in Alaska long before she was daring her sister who could hold their breaths longer underwater. This was when she wasn’t supposed to have been in the water at all. Not for another couple of weeks. Her doctor’s orders. And yet Bird ignored the doctors.

Bird was so longing to be in Alaska that she ignored everything her doctor told her once there. Now, she was risking her health. She was up and about. She was being physical. She was running about. She was having fun with her family. She was also helping Noah find a place to stay. Noah doesn’t plan on living on the ranch. He wants to make a family home in Alaska. It’s where he was the happiest and his wife felt the same way. They wanted to raise their kids in Alaska. Noah, therefore, was looking for a place. He found a nice cabin by the ocean, but that didn’t work out because he could see his neighbors from the porch.

As Noah puts it, he wants to be able to sit on his porch buck-naked without worrying about neighbors. Noah was looking for a property with lots of land. He was still looking for one when they went looking for their old cabin and found out the nearby area was now a nature preserve. There was a nice guy running the place. He showed them around. They got to see the animals and it was fun. It was nice that their old forest had been turned into something industrious. They then went looking for their cabin again and they were a little lost when they heard wolf howls. They sped things up by that point.

They eventually found where the old cabin used to stand. Only, there wasn’t a cabin there anymore. It was now all rubble and debris. Not that they let that stop them from digging through the debris to find some old photos and to reminisce. Noah and Bird felt at home just by being on that property. It was just Rain who felt a disconnect. Rain doesn’t remember the cabin. She was too young and her family went back to their nomadic lifestyle by the time she came around. And so Rain felt cheated of childhood because everyone else could remember the cabin and she didn’t.

And it took a minute but they eventually got the silo up back on the ranch.

THE END!
